Jersey Style Pizza in Chicago! Found Pi Life from other Yelpers and knew I had to add to my pizza queue. Visited their Carol Stream location which opened Nov 2024. The original location out of Glen Ellyn is just over a year old. The owner of both locations relocated from Jersey to Chicagoland and brought his pizza skills with him. I stopped out on a Sunday around 12:20, just after open, and they were still cooking most pizzas to sell slices from. Good News: everything was fresh and worth the wait! We started with the Plain Cheese and Fresh Mozz & Sausage slices. The Plain Cheese was a favorite and had a great cheese combination! While we waited for our Sicilian slices, they gave us a complimentary piece of Garlic White pizza. This slice was like fresh, cheesy, garlic bread in pizza form. All pizzas had a great dough undercarriage; no flop! Then came the real deal slices: Grandma Pie & Vodka Cream Pie Sicilian slices! Jersey style is the Grandma/Sicilian style which is a bit more of a doughy crust, cheese, then sauce on top. These both had great flavor and the vodka sauce really added a unique taste. Overall, pricing was not bad at all for slices. We loved trying a variety for the price of one whole pizza. Willis & Andreas were working when we visited and were beyond kind and welcoming. They offered to cut our slices in half for us to share easier and brought us out the fresh slices when they were ready. Note that they don't offer free water cups so be prepared to purchase a beverage. Check out this small business, Jersey pizza spot and enjoy a different take of a Chicago fan favorite! Favorites: Plain Cheese, Grandma Sicilian Pie, Vodka Cream Sicilian Pie Tip: Come about 30-45 minutes after open for slices to get them both fresh but to not have to wait long.

Fantastic customer service. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with the friendliest person at the register. He went over the different pizzas with me and was running the store on his own today. I also noticed and liked all the graffiti canvas art on the wall. I went with the garlic white and vodka margharita. They were warmed up for me. The garlic white was good because I love garlic, but the vodka margharita was the way to go. The sauce in top with the crunchy crust had me sold. Everything is made in house from the dough to the sauce. I love that. This is what separates it from the other pizza chains. This is their second location and the pizza here is great. They just need a little more exposure because of the location. If you're in the area definitely stop in and grab a slice to support them. I know I will have to come back for the grandma pie.

As far as ambiance, I would call this a restaurant in the rough. Or perhaps a no frills restaurant. Basic formica table and chair booths. The pizza slices we got were very good. I really liked the crunchy crust on the sicilian square I got. The basil was very fresh and gave the pizza a nice aroma. IMO one piece of the sicilian pizza would be considered snack size. There were about 8 or 9 different pizza slices made up that we could have chosen on the spot to have heated up and eaten there. I did not see any soda to purchase. There were several cans and bottles but the only beverage I recognized was bottled water. I encouage the owners to provide some type of soda pop or lemonade. I look forward to watching this business grow as those of us in the neighborhood support them.

Having stopped in for a slice one day wearing my company shirt, Jake behind the counter took my info & brought my company pizzas to sample & get their name out there! Great people, great food, great location!! Go support them!!!

I'm writing this review a couple of days later and wow, I'm still thinking about that crust. It's delicious, crispy, and soft on the inside. It's a bonus that there is hot honey on the counter to dip your crust in. We had a couple of slices and had to order one more because it was delicious! We had the cheese Sicilian pizza, two cheese slices with added mushrooms, and two slices of white garlic pizza. Yum! You order on the counter and they heat it up in their ovens for a couple of minutes. After eating the garlic white pie, my partner was happily surprised how fresh ricotta tasted like. I told him that's the real stuff, authentic ingredients that just make you pause. My one strong suggestion is to please add fountain soda which I didn't see. The restaurant is in a strip mall and since they don't have clear signage, it might be easy to miss.

This is located in between Great Clips and Jimmy John's. Google Maps can be confusing with the directions. I've gone to the Pie Life location in Glen Ellyn but I wanted to check out this location. This location actually has more seating. Getting in/out of the area is easier. Right now, they have the buy any 16" or Sicilian and get one 16" in cheese or margherita for free. I got the Sicilian with vodka cream and margherita. It came out to $33. I believe it runs for the rest of August. There are no bad pizzas here but I highly recommend any of the Sicilian styles. Grandma was equally as good as vodka cream. They all have that perfect crunch each time you take a bite. I recommend getting the single slices to try a variety. Staff was really personable and attentive. Prices are very fair for the quality.

One of my favorite treats for myself each week is to stop in and visit Jake at Pie Life. They take pride in their pies and use quality ingredients. The slices are always perfect. They are also constantly improving the vibe in the restaurant with new decor and great music. These guys are the real deal. They care about their customers and their community. Really happy to have this spot so close to home. Don't hesitate to stop in for a slice or order a whole pie. You won't be disappointed!

Best New... Jersey? style pizza this side of Manhattan. Because no, I haven't gone to Hoboken to get a slice. I took a full pizza (half pepperoni) to go, as well as a slice of garlic and ricotta. They threw in an extra garlic slice for me, which I appreciated. The hallmark of this style of pizza is a dough that droops. Like, you have to curl the slice up in order to eat it, because it's so floppy. But the bottom can't be soggy either. It's a tight balance, tough to get right, and they nail it. The bottom has just a hint of chew and char that tells you, yeah, these guys know what they're doing. The other half is excellent flavor, and they delivered here too. Fresh tomato flavor, great cheese blend. And the garlic was sharp enough on the white slices that the ricotta went really well with it. If you want to eat in, all the better: grab a booth. But no matter how you take it, Pie Life serves great slices.

This year, after six weeks on the road and 14 national parks, our welcome-home meal was exactly what it always is: an extra-crispy thin-crust pizza with cheese and vegetables. And honestly, it hit the spot. There is something comforting about coming home, unpacking the car, and sitting down with a familiar pizza after weeks of restaurant meals, road snacks, and vacation food. The thin crust was crispy, flavorful, and exactly what we were craving. Over the years, however, I do feel that Lou Malnati's quality has slipped somewhat, particularly when it comes to the deep-dish pizza that made them famous. We rarely order the deep dish anymore because it simply is not what it used to be. The thin crust, on the other hand, continues to be the better choice for us. Ordered extra crispy, it delivers a satisfying crunch and remains a solid Chicago-style thin pizza. Is it the best pizza in Chicago? Probably not. Is it part of our family's road-trip tradition and a comforting welcome-home meal after weeks away? Absolutely. Sometimes a pizza is more than a pizza. Sometimes it is the final mile marker of a great adventure and the first taste of being home again.

We were served a really great crusty Italian bread and butter when we sat down. The restaurant was well staffed. Each of us had a good amount of leftovers to bring home. Prices are in line with other Italian restaurants in the area. Even a little less expensive. The server dropped off our bill. I usually don't look through the bill. My bad. This time I wanted to be sure we were charged the Special $8.00 Vodka Rigatoni special and not the regular $12.00 price for the dinner. My instincts were right. Our server charged us the $12.00 regular price. We asked a busser to find our server so she could correct it. We waited about 10 minutes for her to come back. She printed off a new bill with the corrected amount. I've had this happen to me before at other restaurants. I'm always a little skeptical about whether it was an honest mistake or if the server was trying to pull one over on us. I did not subtract any stars from my review since the amount was corrected, Husband reported that the Men's room was immaculate. We plan to return. We were happy with our experience.
