This place is always busy. I would come here often and I have no idea how I haven't done a review. The service is always quick and the waitress was attentive. I ordered the gyro and two eggs. I think they used to have a gyro omelet, but I didn't see that on the menu. I just love this local spot and frequent it often. If you're nearby, you definitely have to stop by for a bite! Their servings are generous and their prices can't be beat.! The service is fantastic and all the weight staff is so friendly and helpful. I had such a wonderful breakfast here. Not only the food but the customer service was over the top and so friendly. I saw the strawberry/cream stuffed french toast when reviewing it and was sold on making that a breakfast stop right away. When I got there I was immediately seated and brought water. My server, which I knew her name when I was there but am drawing a blank now came right over to see what I'd like to drink and asked if I knew what I'd likenor needed more time. I said I came for the french toast but that the menu had sooooo many other things that really sounded good. She asked if I wanted anything else but I asked how many slices the toast was. She explained that its 3 stuffed pieces cut in half which means really that 6 pieces of bread. I laughed and said there was no way I'd even come close to finishing it so couldn't order anything more. She just giggled at me. When my food came it looked so yummy and it tasted great. I was checked on just enough to make sure I was good and when I said I needed a to-go box. The server made small chit-chat with me so knew I was staying in a hotel so asked if I had a fridge in my room and mentioned that the made sure to put in some to-go syrups and butter along with silverware. That was nice as often you do not get to-go silverware. When I was paying my bill I mentioned how great she was and left her a pretty nice tip to show my appreciation. Totally worth it. read more

I used to live down the street from here and now I'm like 20 mins away, but still worth the drive. My usual is the country chicken steak. It comes with hash/fruits , toasts/English muffin, and choice of eggs. The portions are always huge. Their menu is extensive and most of the stuff on their are pretty good. I've had their Philly cheesesteaks, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and other lunch items and they're all pretty good. The staff are always friendly and accommodating, even when they're super busy. The portion sizes are fantastic with four eggs topping several varieties of Eggs Benedicts and skillets. Hashbrowns are crispy and perfectly cooked every time. Pancakes are big and fluffy. Always fast service, always hot, always deliciously saucy. Even the coffee is rich, flavorful, and delicious. Only one caveat is service on Sunday. This place attracts a big crowd on Sunday morning, so you may be expected to wait up to 15 minutes for an available table. Despite this, the wait staff is always extremely prompt and friendly. A local staple of Carol Stream, this place has it all!! They offer up so many great options, especially their French onion soup. You really can't go wrong with anything from the menu, but they have a great potato pancake breakfast special that makes it hard to order anything else they have. They offer freshly squeezed orange juice and keep your coffee cup filled to the brim. They have a chorizo skillet that the wife always gets, while I'm forcing myself to try something new every time we are there. Their country fried chicken or biscuits and gravy skillet is way too much for this hungry Army veteran. The service is top notch, from the front of the house all the way to the servers, just smiles all around. They are extremely hardworking and will make sure your order is made to perfection. They will remember your name and your order, if you dine there enough times, which is something you can't find anymore. The place is your typical booth and table style breakfast spot, nothing too fancy, which makes it feel even more like family. They do have sports in the flat screen in the front, but it is never overpowering conversations. The chairs are comfortable and there are plenty of windows to let in the natural light so it's not dark/dingy looking inside. We stopped in during lunch hour today, and the restaurant was busy, yet not too loud. We were greeted immediately. Our server was friendly and attentive. We ordered both breakfast and lunch entrees. The roast beef panini was delicious! The sandwiches come with complimentary soup and a side. The tomato basil soup was good. If I were to make a suggestion, I may have added a bit more basil. My party also had an omlette, BLT, and a Cobb salad. One note on the service is that they were happy to substitute to meet your needs and make your meal exactly what you wanted. Pete, at the hostess stand, on the other hand was awful. I called on Sunday to check on waitIng. I was told by the hostess that there Waac not waiting at that point I informed her that we were going to be arriving in 15 minutes if she could put me down on thE waiting list, she said Yes. When arriving, 5 minutes later than predicted, I introduced myself self, and there were many people waiting. Pete, standing next to the hostess, proceeded to yell at me stating that there is no waiting list. I tried to explain that over the phone I was told that my name will be place on the list. On Monday, August 7, 2023 - ordered a "chocolate chip pancake short stack". This item was already specifically priced over $2 more (than say a regular pancake short-stack) because of the chocolate chip aspect. Order came - all looked great. There was even a small pile (about a hand-ful) of chocolate chips ONTOP the pancakes! When bill came - we were charged $2.50 EXTRA for what we assume were the extra chips. We did NOT ask for these extra chips, and we looked at the menu again to see if there was perhaps some "fine print" for an extra charge for chocolate chip pancakes that were already priced to reflect that aspect. There was no fine print we could find. When we brought this up with the waitress, we were told that this is how certain menu items are "itemized" on the receipt. Again though - we double checked the original charge of the chocolate chip pancakes and then the "extra charge", which is mentioned nowhere on the menu. Will we come back - yes probably. But this will never happen again with us - and we are writing this review to give other's a HEADS UP when ordering certain specialty items. Beware of SHADY BILLING. read more

Let me tell you, this place really checks all the boxes! First off, the staff: from the old guys greeting you to the wait staff and bus boys, everyone is so friendly and nice! Second, the atmosphere: warm, inviting, and makes you feel like you're at home having a home-cooked meal. Third, the food: wow, just wow! The menu has a little bit of everything and it all sounds good! Naturally, I had the Eggs Benedict and it was impressive! Perfectly-toasted English muffins, thick-cut ham, and TWO poached eggs per Benedict! Incredible and outstanding, the extra yolk quantity really makes a difference! Everyone that does a review on this place writes about the quantity of food you get. It's like a "guy" restaurant because you get so much to eat. But ladies, they have a lot of food for you too. I went with my wife and son a few weeks ago. I'm very simple: skillet with lots of meat and a side of pumpkin pancakes. Son: pancakes with extra bacon on the side. Wife: omelette with egg whites only except for one of the eggs which can include yellows, don't use butter, use Pam, spinach, Mushrooms, side of pancakes, butter on the side, hash browns but don't fry in oil. You get the picture. So the food was very good, cooked well, reasonably priced, covid protocols mostly followed (by the staff at least), friendly and helpful staff, and they move you through at a quick but not hurried rate. I did take leftovers home, but I find they don't taste the same after being Nuked. All in all, a very nice place with large quantities but something for everyone. I have never had any lunch items there, but I tend to look at what others are eating when I'm walking to my table, and the lunch items looked pretty good as well. read more

You have to absolutely visit this place for breakfast if you're in the area. You get 2 eggs complimentary when you order any item with eggs. That's amazing! McDonalds will charge you around $1.50 for items with egg singular. I have been coming here going on 2 decades now and have never been disappointed.
