Unfortunately, my nails were filed down drastically shorter than what I asked for. During the appointment, I specifically told the technician that I wanted to keep the length . However, the filing was so aggressive that at points she was essentially filing against my skin. I walked in with natural nails that I had spent months growing and taking care of, and walked out with extremely short, boxy nails that don't even look like mine. The entire reason I requested builder gel was to preserve and protect the natural length I already had--not remove it. What makes this particularly upsetting is that I'm expecting to get engaged very soon and had intentionally been growing and strengthening my natural nails for that reason. Now I have to wait weeks for them to grow back to where they were. I also paid cash, so unfortunately I don't even have the option of disputing the charge for a service that was completely different from what I requested. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I'm genuinely so disappointed. I clearly communicated what I wanted before and during the service, and my request was ignored. At first I trusted what they said about the hair color being safe then I started with a great deal of hair loss which was contributed to my age. Then I started with some irritation after coloring and then severe pain and blistering which I had to apply ice packs to my head for 4 days before it subsided. I asked to see the ingredients and I was sent the product leaflets for each item used to mix my color. They are definitely not safe and contain multiple ingredients above OSHA approved levels of being toxic and dangerous and contribute to hair loss and severe scalp irritation. I made this known to the manager and she told me she would talk to Aveda and get back to me. it has been 20 weeks since then and she still hasn't gotten back to me. I can only assume Aveda knows its ingredients are toxic and just don't care. In those 20 weeks of being free of Aveda products my hair has filled in bald spots and is growing strong and healthy! Please do not take my word for anything, just stay informed and ask to see the actual ingredient papers enclosed in each item used to mix your color. They were able to seat us together and hot both our services done in just little over an hour. They were friendly and the salon was clean and well organized. The nail technicians were also very gentle and didn't cause any cuts or unnecessary pain that you sometimes get at other salons when techs rush or aren't paying attention to you. We will definitely come back again as the prices were very affordable compared to back home in LA.

It was a regular color with a coat of glitter. Not sure why her nail polish remover wasn't taking my polish off?? It wasn't gel, just a regular nail polish. So what does she do? She just decides she's going to give me a pedicure with the polish on. I was like "wooooo what are you doing?" I suggested that she try acetone nail polish remover & she didn't want to. She just wanted to start pushing my cuticles back & use a fingernail file to try & get my polish off. There was NO way I was going to sit there for this 1/2 "a*s" pedicure so I got up & started to walk out. Of course her co-worker's were looking @ me & her as she was walking behind me. I told them "I'm leaving, she doesn't know what she is doing!" Of course she started talking about me in her language along with her co-workers. The woman working here was a sweetheart and helped guide me towards the exact soaps I needed. I bought four body bar soaps and one turmeric bar for the face. The smells were nostalgic, there were holiday scents, beach scents, floral scents, masculine scents, something for everyone. This is the perfect place to buy gifts for others. I cannot wait to come back here next time I make a trip!
