We just wanted to give a shout out for Radiology nurse Laura…read more On April 22 my 87 year old husband underwent a suprapubic catheterization at Emerson Radiology. His nurse Laura rated a #10 in every aspect of nursing. She had a way of blending knowledge, efficiency and kindness to make this a comfortable experience for my husband. Our thanks to her, P&K

We live in town and I've had to visit multiple departments, including the ER for both myself and taking my parents. In the 10 years or so since I first left the review, I can honestly stay I stand by my original assessment. If you, literally, don't think you'll survive the drive to Lahey or Mass General then certainly go here. Otherwise, do whatever you can to get to a better hospital. Aside from my own 1-star experiences, I've heard multiple stories of similar experiences of close friends and immediate family getting grossly misdiagnosed by Emerson. Most recently they sent a friend home after a CAT scan with a "concussion" which, fortunately, the Lahey Clinic almost immediately discovered were severe brain lesions. My father was in a car accident where Emerson missed a broken back and concussion - again, fortunately, caught days later by another hospital. It's unfortunate as we live about 2.3 miles away but between our experiences and local paramedics recommending other hospitals, it's simply not worth stopping unless absolutely critical. (Side note: Yelp's, "Not Recommended" reviews for Emerson are worth a read.)

I know this is a small mistake, but I cannot drive and each time I need to go to an appointment I have to ask someone to drive me, so that was unfortunate that I had to schedule another MRI. In addition to this, the MRI facility communicated to me that the mistake was made, rather than the hearing from this office that they had made the mistake and explaining why I needed another MRI done. I have had other experiences with this staff as well when scheduling tele-heath appointments. The receptionist scheduled my tele-health appt. for 4:50 but when the time came and passed, I called the office to double check. When I got onto the phone with a receptionist they told me that 4:50 is not actually an appointment time, but rather as estimated time based on when the DR is finished with his appointments for the day. That was unfortunately information that should have been told to me when "scheduling". I know these aren't big instances of miscommunication, but they are enough for me to be wary of the care I receive here. Will something be ordered incorrectly again? Is my time being valued as a patient there?

I had the unfortunate experience of slipping on ice and landing on my left arm. Needless to say,…read morethe pain was excruciating so I ended up in the Leonard Morse ER. The ER doctor examined my arm and X-rays were taken and it turned out I had a radial neck fracture. He placed my arm in a splint and a sling and told me that I had to see an orthopedic doctor and that I would have to wear a cast for six to eight weeks. As you can imagine, I was not very happy about that. Enter Orthopedic Associates of Marlborough. Dr. Hangen and his staff were incredible! Dr. Hangen was calm, kind and gentle with my injured arm. He told me that due to the way the arm had broken that I would not have to wear a cast, but I had to do range of motion exercises at home in order to help the arm heal. I was ecstatic! I had my two week follow up visit this week and my arm is healing nicely. I can now drive again and as long as nothing changes, I don't have to go back for another follow up visit. The staff at Orthopedic Associates of Marlborough were all caring, compassionate and professional. I wish I could remember all their names to thank them individually, but Karen, Mary Beth, Kat and the woman who took my blood pressure and temperature were all great, as is everyone who works there. I don't want to experience any more broken bones, but if I ever do, you know who I'll be calling first!

Everyone was so rude from start to finish. It was extremely hard to get in touch with the new patient coordinator to get an appointment. Met with dr Huang who, on our first meeting stated "you should consider egg donation as having a child may not be in the works for you"- (I'm 33, healthy, unknown cause infertility) given the time sensitive process of IVF, we proceeded w this clinic. Shannon the nurse sent incorrect preauth form to insurance, pharmacy had a hard time getting in contact with the nursing team which caused almost a 2 wks delay to obtain meds. We were not able to speak with dr Huang the entire journey, nurses were rude and also hard to get a hold of. When I came in for my saline sonogram, dr Huang was the performing provider and was so cold, she didn't say a word to me tho we only had our appointment a couple weeks prior. At the end of our journey, results were not what we had hoped for and at my follow up appointment, dr. Huang proceeded to speak about another patient, why she was upset with her care and projected her situation onto me and continued to recommend egg donation. She also suggested I go to other clinics such as Brigham and can bring back their recommendations to her and we can proceed with their plans which really took me by surprise given her years of experience. At the very end when I requested my medical records, it took OVER a month to get a copy of my records from Alicia who had such a nasty attitude and kept saying her workload was too big which is a crazy excuse. It took my husband to get involved for her to actually remain my medical records. Swapped over to another clinic and now having the opposite experience.

We had maxed out our insurance coverage at the time and were going to be paying out of pocket. Dr. Weiss was our primary physician and he has been wonderful. We primarily saw him in Westborough but did have a couple of appointments in Dedham and one in Boston as well. Having multiple offices made scheduling timely appointments easy, though some required a little extra travel. After the initial consult & testing, he recommended laproscopic fibroid removal surgery. The surgery went well and on its own, was life-changing for me as it ended years of debilitating monthly menstrual cramping. We were set to proceed with a round of IVF a few months later but life had other plans. We had to cancel that round of IVF and request a refund; everyone that we dealt with during that process was very understanding & supportive. We decided to proceed with IVF this year. Kelly, his nurse, was so caring & excited to help us along on our journey. Whenever I called the office with questions, I always received a call-back quickly. The nurses were friendly & polite; in the past at the other clinic, I felt like an inconvenience to them when I called with questions. I never felt that way with FCNE. The patient portal also makes getting your updates/ orders easy & understandable. The link to the medication injection videos were very helpful. We travelled to Reading for our egg retrieval and transfer both of which were performed by Dr. Plant. She was lovely; very enthusiastic & positive about helping us reach our goal. The anesthesiologist was informative & professional as well. The operating suite was clean & comfortable. Our first round of IVF after surgery was successful & I am currently 7 weeks pregnant. We have been released to the care of our OB but I will miss the care and support from Dr. Weiss, Kelly and the rest of the FCNE staff. I would highly recommend their services!
