The burrito was such bad quality. It was small, dry, flavorless, no queso inside or on top. The chips were dripping with oil. The fajita was served room temp, and was extremely oily. No one wants to be THAT table. You know the one, the one that has the off night 3 star review amongst all the other raving 5's. We didn't want to be since we drove out of the way to eat here all because of the rave reviews. We were seated promptly on the side of the restaurant with a Halloween party consuming the entire middle of the room. Drink order was taken and chips/salsa promptly served. After that, I think we became invisible. We tried a dish neither of us have tried before, and as the bottom of the menu states, we asked ours to be extra spicy. When the meal arrived, we again had to wait and wait and finally had to ask for the tortillas that were to accompany the meal. The meal had a unique flavor, but again the extra spice was obviously forgotten. The salsa had much more of a kick to it. I would most likely try here again if ever in Twin, and I could excuse the absenteeism of our service due to the party, but the four or five other tables right around us did not have the same issue. read more

This place is phenomenal. My mom, my son and myself all headed over here to have lunch and couldn't have been more happy to have found this gem. We were seated as soon as we walked in the door, the service was quick and friendly and the food was amazing. I ordered a Mexican pizza with picadillo, my mom ordered the house nachos and my son got some Carne asada tacos. After we tore through our food the waitress brought us out fried flour tortilla chips with whip cream, chocolate drizzle and cinnamon which was the perfect end to the meal. We stopped by on a recent road trip with the family. The food was OK, but not great. Chips and salsa were good, and served with beans, which was a nice way to start. The meals were large portioned, but just nothing amazing. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated. Service was OK -- not amazing, but fine. It was a hot day outside, and they had the A/C blasting. Admittedly the tamale was dry and there was not that spicy red chili a pork tamale should have but it was good enough. food is decent, prices are going up and are high for what you get. menu not updated for current prices. Menu said Mexican tacos were 3.25 a piece and we were charged 4.50 per taco. Upon discussion of the prices with manager, I was told it was because we ordered shrimp which was not included in the menu. 2 small shrimp per taco does not add up to $20 for 4 tacos. This was my favorite local Mexican restaurant, not any more will not be going back. I know inflation is high but that does not justify the ridiculous prices. read more

Driven by this place about a million times, always meant to stop in and never did. Because I'm dumb, apparently. This is another place that drives that point home with a fierceness usually reserved for marauding zombies. It was my loss to miss out for so long because this place is awesome. Fantastic menus, good seating, lots of tvs, basically only a Carta Blanca on the menu away from heaven. I took a good fill of the menu, as I felt I could trust it and wasn't disappointed. Chile Relleno, in particular, was fantastic. The tamale quite a bit less so, but passable. The Tacos Al Carbon, which they said was "dipped in red sauce then grilled for a little bit" was beyond my power to resist, so I got that as well. So much food, so I had to abandon the shells partway through, but definitely spectacular. I probably will just get those first (and probably another Relleno) so I have room, as they had a lot of excellence to offer and is now one of my new favorite Mexican food dishes. Beans and rice were fine, nothing too special there. Service was great and the Coke Zero mix was also pretty good. Growing up in San Diego and then living there for over 30 years, I am not easily impressed when it comes to authentic Mexican Food. I have to say though, this place is legit. We were just passing through Twin Falls and only staying a few nights so our ability to try out a number of places wasn't going to happen. Instead, we needed to hit the bullseye and this recommendation from a friend of my wife's who grew up in Twin Falls was a winner. My wife and I both had the Carne Asada though I had a Chile Relleno with mine. The carne asada was done perfectly, medium well just as you would get it in Northern Mexico and also perfectly seasoned. The guacamole was fresh and homemade and the black beans were also very flavorful. In my opinion, very few get a Chile relleno right anymore: they are usually over-breaded and over-cheesed. This one though had the perfect balance of both with a light, thin batter and the right amount of cheese to bring out the flavor of the chile. If we are ever back in this area again, this will be in my short list. read more

Janitzios has PERMANENTLY lost my business. I have never left a restaurant more upset and annoyed. The customer service here is atrocious. Absolutely awful. Considering its Cinco de mayo, we chose to celebrate the holiday by eating dinner at janitzios. We arrived around 8 pm (they're open until 10). We were greeted warmly by the hostess and sat immediately in a clean booth. This was a great start to our experience. If we would have known that this part of our experience, would be the best part....we would have left right then. Our waitress did not show up to take our drink order for 15 min. 15. For drinks! When we did place our drink order, we then waited another 15 minutes and still had no drinks. We told a passing waitress that we had been waiting 30 minutes for drinks. Her response was "Oops, we forgot you were even there. What did you order again?" Haha. Crazy right. We placed our order (while we still could). We ordered: House nachos (large): Awful. The cheese wasn't fully melted, the chips were greasy and the beans had an odd flavor. We pointed out to our waitress that our nachos were lacking guacamole (comes with guacamole and sour cream). For unknown reasons, she became rude, aggravated and snotty. She said they were "out" of guacamole and when I asked what else they could do, she loudly repeated herself 7x +. I asked if she could make us some and she rolled her eyes and acted as though I had asked for the title to her car. Wtf. She then brought out fajitas and slammed them on the table. I asked if we could please have some utensils (so we could eat our food)....she told me "when I get a chance." At this point I was done. I asked to speak to a manager. Chicken fajitas: Awful. Greasy, overcooked chicken. The onions were still raw and the entire dish was severely lacking in salt. Speaking to the manager: I explained to the manager all of the issues we had with our food and waitress. She immediately became defensive and explained to me that because they were busy... "it happens sometimes." No. Awful customer service, bad food and snotty servers do not "just happen because you're busy." She then informed me that she was the owner of the restaurant. As the owner, your main priority should be to keep your customers happy. Wow. I am absolutely appalled that the OWNER not only made excuses for her rude servers, but then told us why we would just have to deal with it!!! I can't believe there are actually people who work in the service industry who act this way. After she walked away, the table next to us....started laughing and told us that they had very similar issues with the waitress also. They said she had "lost their order" and then had been nasty to them because of her mistake. They laughed and told us, they would never be back. I would NEVER under ANY circumstances visit this restaurant or recommend it to anyone. Avoid this place at all costs. You are better off eating at dennys. I've been to Janitzio's twice. Each time we were seated promptly. Water, chips, and salsa were delivered quickly. On my first trip I had the pork carnitas. They were delicious and not too fatty. On my second trip I had the tacos al carbon. They were absolutely delicious. Both times the restaurant was quite busy and our food took a long time. When we called back they put us on hold by placing the phone receiver down on the counter and never picked up the phone. I tried to call back again but the phone was off the hook for the next hour. As usual the food was delicious. I didn't give it 5 stars because I was a little upset with the service today. I ordered tea she brought me water. I ordered the dinner portion shrimp enchiladas (which were delicious by the way) she brought me the lunch portion. Also our food took about 30 minutes to arrive. I didn't recognize any of the staff. They must all be new I did hear several apologies being offered to other patrons by the staff. Not sure where the breakdown was. Probably just a new crew and no management presence on the floor. We just moved to the area from SoCal. Looking for a Mexican restaurant that had the tasty authentic food that we were used to. And we found it here! Actual Spanish style rice. The beef taquitos were flavorful and lean. The portions very generous. The salsa on the table was a kind of spicy. Wow! Only reason I give them four stars instead of five was because they don't have pork carnitas.(my favorite dish). I will be going back to try other stuff on the menu. read more

I might not be able to pronounce the name right but they are easily the best Mexican in town, and they have the value to match. Lunch specials are unbelievable. They have all sorts of authentic Mexican dishes and your typicals: enchiladas, chimichangas, burritos, all are under 8 bucks. Seriously? Where can you find a quality sizzling plate of fajitas for 750? Complimentary beans and salsa to start the meal? Absolutely! Every Mexican restaurant should, but fewer are these days.
