My ham and cheese croissant had NO ham and cheese inside. I paid 5 bucks for a plain croissant

Janny is no longer involved in the business. Went there twice this week -- two days ago before noon and today at 9am. Both times, donuts were sparse. Both times only one jelly donut and offering was slim. Both times, I asked if they could or would be making more donuts that day. Their response...no. Can you fill the two remaining eclairs with custard?... No... This is not the Janny's I remember. Janny always took care of me and each time left me with just a little something extra...even after noon. This new ownership is using the same name; but sadly, Janny's past quality is now as non-existent as their donut selection. Today, I finally asked about why I haven't seen Janny and learned that she is no longer involved. Past customers, don't bother. read more

Great doughnuts and awesome customer service. The staff was super friendly! Jannys is a nice little doughnut shop located kitty corner to the district (Tustin). We bought a dozen and if you check in through yelp they'll give you a free doughnut. The doughnuts were light and fluffy. Packed with flavor. My favorite was their chocolate bar. Their sprinkle and maple were a hit with my family. Can't go wrong with the glaze doughnuts. Everything tasted fresh (we went by around 10 am). We will come back for the cronuts read more

Love the Cronut! This was one of the best sweet treats I've had. The crispy croissant with the creamy filling and delicious strawberries was the perfect amount of sweetness and great with coffee. My husband got the jalapeño ham and cheese croissant which was so good we didn't even get a picture. Can't wait to come back and try it all, they have a great variety donuts and croissants. My husband had a hankering for donuts (like he sometimes does ;)... found this place on yelp and came in on a Sunday right before closing, expecting for all the donuts to be gone on Labor Day weekend! Not the case! The owner brought out an entire stacked cart of available offerings and we went to town! One of my other coworkers goes out of the way to get these amazing giant donuts and crossaint sandwiches from Jannys. I don't know how many times I've stumbled into work without a lunch or even breakfast prepared to be saved by their massive egg sausage and cheese crossaint. These are probably the best donuts I've had in a very long time. They're not tasting like old oil like most of the places in this area tend to get that flavor. There are more cake cake like and a very good donut instead of it being more oily as well. The flavors are interesting there's a huge amount of prices and they are all good! I rarely get donuts, but my coworker wanted to get donuts for our other coworker's bday. I yelped for the best donut shop. Jannys has 4.5 stars. Wow, I was excited to try this new place. I walked in and saw the price for a dozen raised (more expensive) and dozen assorted donuts. I was confused on what that meant, so I asked the worker there. She told me that the donuts on the top row were the more expensive raised donuts and the bottom rows were the assorted regular donuts. I told her I wanted to get a dozen of the "assorted donuts". She asked me to point out which donuts that I wanted. I pointed to the chocolate, sugar, maple, nut etc. All the ones on the bottom rows, none from the top row. When she rang me up, she gave me the price for the raised donuts. I asked why, since I got all the assorted donuts from the bottom rows. She said that I ordered a couple of raised donuts, like the nuts donut is considered raised. I told her I did not know and she was like no biggie they are just 15 cents more x 12. She already charged my card so I said fine. After arriving to work and telling the story to my coworker, my coworker asked if they were just 15 cents x 12 more, why didn't she just charge you for the assort price. I only got 1 nut donut, which was considered a raised donut. Also, when I ordered the one raised donut why didn't she tell me that it was a raised donut and not a assorted donut, when I told her I wanted a dozen assorted donuts. My conclusion is that it was either bad communication and Jannys had bad organization display skills or that Jannys is greedy business people trying to trick everyone to charge the extra 15 cents x 12. What do you think? Be careful ordering your donuts here. The 15 cents x 12 is not that much more, but it is the principal of the whole situation. The donuts itself was nothing spectacular just regular donuts. The hospitality I will not be back to experience. UNHAPPY DONUTING!! read more

Came pretty late in the day so a lot of their cronut choices were gone, but still managed to get away with their glazed and maple/bacon cronut. I also got the blueberry donuts and the standard maple glazed. The woman here was so sweet and she threw in extra donut holes for me, which ended up being a great snack. Although I saved them to eat for later so they ended up getting a bit soggy, they were still great, which means had I eaten them right away, they would have been fantastic. I'm completely baffled by the rave reviews and high rating. It's just a standard donut shop. 7:30am on a weekday morning there was a line of about 8 people. There were obviously many regulars from the surrounding corporate buildings and industrial area as the 2 workers behind the counter were giving friendly "good-mornings", quick smiling conversation and in a couple instances asked if a customer was getting the "usual order". They moved fast and efficiently and in less than 5 minutes it was my turn. Perhaps because I was not a regular customer I received no smile or greeting or any words other than my total. I thought the prices were in line with what you'd expect - around a dollar a donut. Three donuts were purchased - an old fashioned, maple bar and chocolate donut with sprinkles. All were fresh. All were good. All were simply ordinary. All were no different than what you'd get at any average donut shop you'd run across at any strip mall. They didn't have cronuts that many reviews mention. Maybe that's what I'm missing. But this review is based on what they had to offer on my visit. Certainly not worth a special trip but if I worked nearby I'd probably stop in now and then. read more

They are not much better than the others Irvine. All the donut shops in Irvine are the same as far as donuts. They're all dry. Not only the donuts but croissants. I've read comments that this has the best donuts. Nope. It's the same. I tried to see different. I've been here 7-8x. Can't differentiate their donuts and croissants from the rest of the city. Sadly Irvine has the shittiest donuts in the OC. Costa Mesa has Sidecar and Adams Avenue Donuts, Yong's donuts in Fountain Valley has great tasting donuts but the old lady that's there is a bitch. I would wait for her daughter who's nice. If you want good donuts in Irvine, there is Duck donuts they make the donuts to order so they're fresh and great tasting. If you're thinking what do I know? I was cook and worked as a pastry assistant in several restaurants. Worked in restaurants for 20 years. I'm also fat. I eat a lot. And my ex was Cambodian. They know donuts... For $3.25, you can get the cronut with strawberry and whipped cream. The sprinkles of powdered sugar were like a wonderful added "blessing" to the pastry. I liked the flaky texture and the taste. The whipped cream and strawberries were a great addition. Overall, it was delicious. My friend and I met the owner, Janny, in person and she seems like a sweet woman (kind of a motherly figure). You can have the option to dine-in, and she provided us plates and utensils for our delicious cronuts. Overall, the location is pretty easy to find as it is right by El Pollo Loco on Jamboree and Barranca Pkwy. There's plenty of parking too. Definitely check this place out for the cronut!! I have been wanting to come here forever and am actually in the area all the time, just always after they close which is at 1 pm, I sure wish they were open later and i would be able to indulge way more often. Service was great, I love that they fill the cronuts to order, you chose your filling and they get it ready for you in a flash for just a couple cents more! Great selection, I loved not only the cronuts (I chose apple pie as well as nutella with cream filling) but also the over sized cinnamon twist and bear claw, so fresh and soft, amazing flavors, some of the best donuts I have had in awhile! Location is small, but the selection was great, even shortly before closing, plan on taking them to go as the store only has a few tables and is pretty simple. I went around 4:30pm and there was still a good selection (about 2/3 of the display case). The donuts still tasted great and fresh. I grabbed half a dozen thinking it would take me a few days, but I was wrong.... Finished it by the morning. The lady who helped me out was so sweet. She greeted me once I entered and we had an opportunity to chat a bit. Very different vibe from some of the other restaurants that feels more transactional - pick up food, pay and say bye. It was refreshing. Parking was plentiful and free since it's in a little plaza. Overall, I really enjoy this little place. Got my donut fix, friendly customer service, and easy to access. My mom and I often come here to get their apple fritters and occasionally their Thai tea and other doughnuts for the family. Our favorite is by far the apple fritter. They are always so moist and compared to other doughnut shops, they have more apple pieces in them. This being said, they are also really sweet, which we love! We've recently also tried their Thai tea and it was very good! I got mine with boba and my mom got hers without. One thing that was strange was that my mom's tea was a lot lighter in color, maybe they had put more cream in it?? This was not a major issue for us as we both thought they tasted great! As far as solid, quality, homemade goods go, Jannys Donuts is just a true staple. What's great is that this place focuses its effort on their customer service, a community of recurring customers, and of course their delicious donuts and coffee. The owners are always very warm and friendly. For example...when I mentioned a childhood favorite chocolate raspberry filled donut that I'd not been able to find in any donut shop for the life of me the owner offered to recreate one just for me! Had a slow Sunday morning and decided to stop in and get some good, classic donuts. Service is ALWAYS incredibly friendly and genuine, which can be hard to find. Donuts are always so fluffy and delicious, never oily or heavy. I recently discovered them and I'm so happy I did. Popped in on a whim yesterday afternoon as I was in the area. They still had a good selection of doughnuts (I hate it when you go in the afternoon and there's nothing left). I got the: Glazed ring, possibly my favourite, a really great simple doughnut. Delicious. Loved the texture. Maple bacon cronut - so tasty, and amazing texture. Took my son here as a special reward. The store clerk was delightfully warm and tremendously helpful. When she found out it was a special treat for my son, she gave him some stickers and a free holiday sprinkles donut. He was so excited and jumped and down -- this was before he consumed a ton of sugar. He then asked if we could eat it right in front of the store. We're still teaching him delayed gratification, but I secretly couldn't wait either. Out of all the flavors we tried, the free one turned out to be his favorite. Smart future marketing if you ask me. Now let's talk about the donuts. We tried a bunch, and they were all super tasty. The ones that stood out to me, surprisingly, were the regular glazed and sugar donuts. They were both super fluffy on the inside with just a touch of crispiness on the outside. We also tried the strawberry cream and bacon maple cronuts, and unlike soggy cronuts I've tasted before, they were nice and flakey. I don't know why I didn't ordered my usual "goto," an old fashioned, but they looked pretty tasty as well. I guess I'll just have to drag myself there again and try out the other flavors they have.
