I have only been here a couple of times, so the items I can speak for are limited, but their service is phenomenal. Aside from being a super friendly bunch with a good variety of donuts, they are not gouging customers for pennies. What I mean by that is that they are charging the flat price regardless of payment type (no extra charge for credit cards - at least not that I have noticed). They also seem to be really focus on building good relationships (and sense of community) with everyone. I cannot speak for everyone, but they have always thrown in a few extra donut holes in my order. Yes, they are a small place, but they make the best they can with the space. So why the missing star? I am holding off until I finally get to try their blueberry donut. I heard it is really good and is usually sold out by the time I get there, so that is next to try on my list. read more

Donut Star in Tustin is hands down the nicest and friendliest donut shop I have ever been to in all of SoCal. Every single time I walk in, no matter how busy it is, whoever is working always has the kindest demeanor and makes you feel genuinely welcome. The customer service here is on another level. The parking lot has plenty of space, which is always a plus, and the shop itself just has such a warm and welcoming vibe. One thing to note is that they close pretty early (I believe around 1:00 PM), and they sell out quickly, especially the really good donuts, so I definitely recommend getting there earlier in the day. What I love most is how customer-focused they are. It doesn't matter if I'm grabbing just a couple donuts or buying a full dozen, they almost always throw in a free little treat. That kind of generosity and kindness is rare these days. These people truly show kindness no matter what, and I honestly love coming here because I always feel so welcomed. Came here based off of the reviews and was not disappointed (except disappointed with how inflation has turned $1 apple fritters into $4 apple fritters over my adult lifetime). ;) My son ordered a plain raised glazed and a chocolate raised glazed... total came to about $3.50 or so. The staff was very pleasant and they bagged each donut separately and included a little donut hole for each donut, which is really cute. He said these donuts were so light and fluffy and tasted fantastic. (Our last donut experience at a highly rated donut place in Quail Hill was not as good unfortunately so not all donuts are created equally). Anyway, we don't get donuts that frequently but when we do I think this may be our new go-to. Btw... there is a 50 cent charge for using credit cards. read more

Great Donuts and Coffee! The customers at this shop are hilarious. The shop has great donuts and the people working here are really nice. The lady customers make this a trip worthwhile. At 7:00 in the morning the ladies are sporting LV and Chanel bags to pick up donuts. I hadn't realized Irvine became such a high-end city that you have to sport your name brand purses to pick up donuts. The best part was the lady with the Chanel jumbo getting into her minivan. I am pretty sure that purse was worth more than her car. But, I guarantee you 100% fact the doughnuts at this place are priceless and way more valuable than any of the purses I saw today. There are only a couple of donut shops in the area worth visiting, this is one of them. Placed between a pizza shop and juice bar, this donut shop has been steady in their quality & service since my first visit years ago. It is a family business and the staff there definitely make you feel like family. They are always welcoming and very personable with their customers. The quality of the donuts are great! This isn't a speciality donut shop that overcharges. This is more of an OG Mom&Pop donut shop that always have a huge variety of options to pick from. Great place to stop in the morning! This place warms my heart and my tummy. The hospitality in this place is off the charts! You will always be welcomed and feel like home when entering this store. The two employees are so generous and very hard working individuals. The donuts here are great but my personal favorite is their jalapeño ham & cheese croissant. They are always kind enough to heat it up for you and you will find a pleasant surprise of two donut holes inside your bag with your croissant. The croissant is very filling and it's very soft with a buttery taste and also packs a lot of flavor with the cheese and hints of jalapeño in almost every bite. The croissant is $5.85 which I believe is a fair price for the amount of food you get. They do charge $.50 for credit card purchases though so make sure you bring in cash! First of all, the customer service here is great. The staff seem very friendly, positive, and have a good attitude. They are also quick in getting your order ready. I came on a Sunday morning and it was not too busy. I decided to try their turkey, egg, and cheese croissant. It was AMAZING. It was filling, a good portion, and melts in your mouth. I like that the croissant they use isn't hard and also doesn't fall apart easily. I also ordered donut holes and a chocolate glazed bar. They all tasted good and were fairly priced. There is a lot of parking, as it is located inside of a big shopping center. I believe they charge a 50 cent fee for credit cards, so keep that in mind.
