went here a few Sundays ago for my Counsins birthday was so busy we waited in line for over 45 minutes for a table it was crazy ppl after ppl walking in to get a table we were a party of 7 and they squshed us at a small table .two youngest nieces were starving by the time we got to the table then having to wait another 25 minutes for the waitress to come back to take the order we did not get out of there till almost 1 or 2 in the afternoon cause it took so long and was so busy with customers so my wise words on a Sunday go somewhere else that is less busy where u can get a table quickly if u have a larger family read more

We came in for breakfast this morning and loved it. It was our second time here, once last year while visiting. I ordered an omelette with turkey, spinach, avocado and cheddar jack cheese. It was a variation of the California omelette. It was very good and MASSIVE. I'd estimate it's at least 6 eggs and loaded with other ingredients. It came with choice or potatoes (I got the seasoned ones) and toast, muffin or biscuit. My girlfriend got the waffle combo which is a good sized waffle and 2 eggs and meat. The first waffle was brought out and they said if it's too well done we'll make another. It was pretty well done so she asked for a new one and they brought it out in a few minutes. Seemed like they knew it was no good and should have just held back on the good one but really not a big deal. Total bill with an iced tea was $25, very affordable and people could definitely split some of these omelettes. I appreciated the hot sauce variety at the table and the friendliness of the staff. Super terrific little breakfast spot! The husband owner sits outside taking names for the wait and the wife seats the guest. Both are incredibly friendly and so is the rest of the staff. When you first come in there is a bake shoo and the cinnamon buns look amazing. Unfortunately I arrived on Father's Day so it was a bit of a wait and I was so hungry by the time I got my food I forgot to take photos but it was awesome! read more

Very disappointed! The only reason it's getting 2 stars is because the cinnamon bun French toast was good. The Cajun chicken sliders were pressed meat! Like frozen Tyson breaded chicken breasts. That is NOT ok. Won't be back. read more

So why 5 stars? Let's start with the friendliness of the staff from the moment I stepped into the door. Today was my first time visiting and they made me feel like family! I ordered the vegetable omelette, with no onions and just a little spinach. Perhaps the best vegetable omelette I have ever had, and I eat vegetable omelette everywhere..... it had asparagus and squash amongst other things, truly delicious! For $3.99, I upgraded to some cherry cheesecake pancakes - ummm delicious! I wasn't a big fan of the potatoes, but that's just my taste factor. Food is delicious, cornbeef hash is best in town almost as good as my dad's. My hubby loves the mess and breakfast burrito. Also, cinnamon bun pancakes! Very good.service is always good even when busy.. And the wait is usually fast. But, I wish there was love in the Titos bloody Mary. Maybe a little horse radish or even a1 sauce if u have it... something for 9.95 it should be drinkable. That's my only complaint. We were told we HAD to try this place for breakfast, and we were told right! I wanted about eight things on the menu but settled on two. The Neptune of the Sea was absolutely delicious and the special of the day French Toast with buttered pecans and bacon topping was decent but not the best - my daughter warned me that the French toast is the only thing she doesn't like on the menu, but I got it anyway. That was the only mistake. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food...just what we needed! read more

Update on breakfast this a.m. My husband & I brought the rest of our family here, as it was their first time! We (of course) are regulars! Everyone was very impressed & pleased with the food. Family said it was the best breakfast they've ever had! As we were ready to check out, our wonderful waitress said a man by the name of Mr. Pierce has taken care of every bill in the restaurant! It's fine. It's totally acceptable food but it's a dirty diner that is a staple in Jensen. I do with they would step up their fake a bit and make an investment in this place and make it better. Depending on where you sit it can be very muggy in there. The pineapple muffins and spuds make it worth coming back to for those 2 things alone. read more

Awesome! Just awesome! The food was SO good, which I will get to later, but first I have to speak about the service. Shawna was AMAZING!!!! Honestly, she is living and breathing this place. For someone who is familiar with this industry, working the day shift isn't always "ideal," but Shawna greeted us within about 30 seconds of sitting down with an AMAZING attitude. She was bubbly, welcoming, warm and was extremely attentive. I was very impressed with the level of service I received from her and she made me feel like I was family. Thank you Shawna for making my dining experience a wonderful one! Ok now the food. My husband ordered the cinnamon roll french toast, which honestly looks like a cinnamon roll with the butter on the side. The flavor was incredibly tasty and the presentation was nothing like I have ever seen. I ordered the blackened mahi wrap and instead of Fries I substituted them for the grits. I am a grit connoisseur haha. These were some of the best grits I have ever had. The mahi was fresh and seasoned perfectly. They also serve mimosas and bloody Mary's, so naturally I got a mimosa and it was served in a wine glass! My kind of mimosa haha. Overall, this place knocked it out of the park with their service, food and environment. My husband and I will definitely be back to try something else on the menu! read more

When one enters the restaurant to the sight and smell of fresh baked pastries and breads on the bakery side of this establishment, the delights are just beginning. Jan's has been a breakfast staple in the community since I was an infant. I remember my parents taking my sister and I to Jan's after church many Sundays, as I scarfed down their delicious pancakes. Although they've moved locations over the years, the service and the fare have remained top notch. We dined in for Sunday brunch, a party of seven, and were accommodated warmly by the owner (Bob, Jan's husband I believe). My Benedict was excellent. A massive sized California-style Benedict, which left me full and satisfied. Sliced, grilled chicken, tomatoes, avocados and spinach. Talk about your new favorite spin on breakfast! If I had one critique, it'd be that the English muffin was undercooked, making it tough to cut through. Minor setback to a fantastic meal. Coffee is served in various kinds of mugs, which is unique and gives guests something to ramble about. Stopped at Jan's yesterday to pickup a key lime pie and some muffins when we went into town, i love their baked goods, they are always fresh and delicious. I noticed they are doing togo dinners. The current location offers table, counter, and out-door dining. Attached to the restaurant is a bakery filled with muffins, breakfast breads, and cookies all baked in house. Portions are huge, in fact you may want to share. It is easy to see how everyone can have a different favorite here. The menu is large and there are three to four daily specials each morning. Blueberry French Toast and Cinnamon Roll French Toast are show stoppers. Drinks are filled quickly and plates cleared instantly. Overall Jan's has a Diner vibe to it. Most of the staff are witty and quick on their feet. Come as you are or dressed for the beach. We will be back next time we are in Hutchinson Island. read more

I'm always in awe when I see a busy place operating like a well oiled machine. This was the case on our visit Sunday morning. The place was packed and it seemed like we were the only customers given the quality of service. It wasn't just me-I observed many servers giving their customers the same excellent service we were receiving. Jan's was recommended by a friend as a great place to have breakfast or lunch. After studying the menu, I can see why. The breakfast menu is all encompassing and includes many varieties of omelets, egg Benedict, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, waffles and French Toast. I had cinnamon roll French toast and my wife had a chicken pot pie omelette. (sounds weird but it wasn't!) Both choices were outstanding with extremely large portions. They offer fruit and other sides as part of your order which is a nice touch. Looking at other diner's meals, I could see ordering something different the next 10 or 15 visits. Everything looks so good. The lunch menu included salads, wraps, sandwiches and burgers. Given our great experience at breakfast, I can't wait to try Jan's for lunch. read more

They accommodated all of our special requests and even went the extra mile and gave us cold coffees to go- Scotty came over with his coffee and did "cheers" with us as we were departing! Jans place did not disappoint. Based on the reviews I had a strong feeling it wouldn't. I rarely see so many 5 star reviews for a restaurant. But this place here is gold. Came for brunch with my mom and we both ordered the cornbeef hash with eggs Benedict. The cornbeef on special was the can so we had to pay a little more to have their house special cornbeef hash. Which was no big deal because if I wanted canned I would of stayed home or went to a dive diner. As a side I had potatoe latkes! I was very pleased with them too! I never been anywhere that offered that as a side (substitutes like homefries) The cornbeef hash was worth every penny and I was so happy I ordered it. My mimosa was also on point, not watered or juiced down. My waitress was also very friendly and lovely. Before I left I bought truffles and a apple pie. Round of applause all around ! I thought I would try a local breakfast place while staying in the area. I went on. Saturday morning around 7:45am. There was no where to park except a lot t where they were charging 10 dollars. Most likely because the had the street shut down due to vendors setting up to sell their merchandise. I ended up parking in front of some place that said it was that buildings parking only. I took a risk as there were not many people out. And then walked about a half a block. The service was good. The food: I had the Homemade Corned Beef Hash, 3 small eggs, home style potatoes and a biscuit. Everything tasted good. I enjoyed the biscuit the most. It was big and fluffy. Definitely homemade. If you prefer your hash crispy like I do, make sure you tell them ahead of time. I didn't and it wasn't crispy at all. It still had good flavor. The potatoes were just ok, not much flavor. Next time I would probably get hash browns or the potato cakes. Even though I gave this place 4 stars, I may not go back due to the parking situation. read more
