Purchased 4 days ago and died, pretty sad that All Sales Are Final. I don't know if I can ever go back to a business that doesn't uphold a return policy in a time limit or at least a discount! Called and told me "no, sorry all sales final" I drove kinda far because of the good reviews but no longer going back. Now I'm worried about my other plecco dying then I'll be down $25

Local family run business. Great selection of fish and drift wood. Smaller selection of plants but they worked in my aquarium well and ga e several options.

Love coming to Jan's for plants and fish. I always get great customer service. They have a LARGE variety of plants (from foreground to background). They also carry driftwood, rocks, decor, aquasoil, gravel, fertilizers, treatments, root tabs, frozen worms, salt, ocean water, filters, heaters, lamps. These are the beautiful plants I got from them today.

Nice selection, fresh and saltwater fish. I will return to see what is in stock when they resupply. They have bettas all around the store for those looking for cool betta colors. When we were making our selection, the woman helping us recommended we get a different one because the one we chose was acting lethargic when she went to bag him. We appreciated the extra consideration as we had a long drive and I would have been upset if they did not survive the drive. She even put the one we chose in a quarantine tank to monitor him. I felt the consideration for customers was superior than other fish stores I've been to. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking to add quality fish / plants to their tanks at reasonable prices.

Clean store for all your aquarium needs. They have the most beautiful fish & other aquarium inhabitants, so much selection & variety. Nothing dead or sickly looking like lots of other fish stores have been to. All looked healthy & well cared for, active & swimning around-the selection of aquarium life was off the hook phenominal! Only thing I didn't see was sea horses or frogs but I could've possibly missed them there was just SO much to look at. If your an aquarium enthusiast, beginner or a pro, if you never been here really should check it out. Staff was available to answer questions, no hunting an employee down, sea anemones were awesone too. LOVE this store!

We came to look for some fish to possibly replace a few of ours, but ended up not buying anything because we wanted to make sure our tank was more stable, before we added more. The lady who helped us was very sweet. Most of their saltwater tanks only had a few fish, but the freshwater ones had tons. They had some really pretty guppies and even babies! They had some cool fish like black ghost and a black arowana! Their prices for the common fish were comparable to most of the other places we've been to. The store was clean and well organized.

Just got a ten gallon tank and the set up has been entirely from Jan's store. We wanted to give it a natural look with rocks, driftwood, and lot of plants. Compared to other big chain pet stores, Jan's stock looks a lot healthier and at a better price. It also feels good to support a small local business. The staff here are also very friendly and knowledgeable.

Small/Medium sized Cichlids-$5.99. Global Aquatics charges $14.99. Petsmart/Petco - $12.99 and up for small Cichlids. Walmart charges $8.00 and up for super small Cichlids(it's a gamble with Walmart fishes the are often sick). Fontana Tropical Pets charges $29.99. No BS! It's a fact that this is the cheapest place! Customer Service: Hope and his Friend Al are great guys. They are always helpful, Always smiling, Always have time to give advice and ideas. I have never felt rushed or bothered in anyway. They greet my 6 year old and give him love and attention. Hope helps teach my Son a bit of Mandarin every time we come in. Al plays great music and also has plenty of fish wisdom. I refuse to go anywhere else. Fish: I recently bought about 17 fish (Cichlids/Plecostmus/Silver Dollars) for my 45 Gallon Upright Octagon tank. I also bought about 25 assorted community fish for my Son's 45 Gallon Standard tank. No fish died. I'll say that again, No fish died! When I was younger and frequenting this location my fish did not die either. Hope knows his stuff. I read other reviews stating that there are tons of dead fish. This is not true. They have to be bad customers. Every single fish place will have a few dead fish here and there. There is no getting around that. That is part of the business. Fish get stressed and often sick being transported from here to there. Hope sells healthy fish. Period! Cleanliness: Is this place filthy? No. Is it immaculate? No. Remember, this place has been here for over 20 years. The building is old. He has accumulated a lot of stuff. Two Males run this place and they get super busy helping people and taking care of stock. The cleanliness is more than OK and that is all that matters. Come to the best Fish Store around!

What I do have is a 2 year old granddaughter who has a fascination for pretty fish in fancy aquariums. This is not a strip mall pet store. We took her just to look. Didn't buy anything. We were simply amazed at the volume of related merchandise and vast displays of beautiful tropical fish and anemones, live aquatic plants, to name a few. You will find some very exotic specimens in many sizes and colors, with prices to match. We felt welcome and free to roam, looking at all their displays. This place is definitely a great resource for collectors.

I had went in when they first opened shop and it had only saltwater on the left, now they have expanded the right side of the store to freshwater and I am pretty excited about that. As someone who only works with freshwater, it's really exciting to have a local store instead of supporting big chains like petco and petsmart. I'm really looking forward to the day I get to stop by and choose my betta for my new set up! I also wanted to include that they have a few nano tank setups on display with some cute shrimp and some guppies! They have just about the same inventory as a chain store that you would buy from, if anything, more than that! The bettas were listed as $20 but I'm not sure if that applies to all of them on display. I was a bit sad when I saw them because their tails weren't in the best condition however, this might just be the way they were shipped. Whatever it is, it can be fixed with a bit of love and care!
