I have been to many Mexican/Texan restaurants. This place is the worst I've had. Let's start with stale chips and not the best salsa. I ordered steak tacos. The meat was rubbery and looked like the pre-cooked grilled steaks. Was not fresh steak at all. The refried beans taste like canned beans. The margarita that I ordered was $14.99 I had ordered top shelf skinny. The margarita was the worst ever. Cheap mix and tasted like the $4 specials. I did complain about it and will never come back to this place. I don't recommend you eating here. Terrible food and drinks. read more

Great service, food was excellent, drink special very good. We ordered lunch specials after 2 so they are the same price minus the soft drink, ordered the frozen margarita- was great tasting, blue liquor. We have found our go to Tex Mex place in our new hood! Isn't it funny how you can tell how good a tex mex meal will be based on the quality of the salsa?! I cannot believe I have never reviewed this spot!! It is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood! Since moving nearby almost 2 years ago it is almost a once a week must have. The shrimp enchiladas are my go to entree and it never disappoints. Their chips and salsa is addictive as well. And everyone serves with a smile! After 2 years, no other Mexican restaurant compares and Jardin del Rey remains my favorite. read more

This place had really delicious margaritas and great food! The drinks were a bit pricey at around $10 each, but they were also pretty huge. The place itself was very small with limited seating, but the staff was super attentive. First timer. Had the enchiladas verdes. They were outstanding. Plenty of delicious tomatillo sauce. Chips were great but salsa was disappointing. Too much cilantro. That's all I could taste. The refried beans were not good. Prepared with cumin. Instant disqualifier. The rice was excellent. Also ordered a cheese enchilada because the menu said they were served with gravy. The cheese was proper (American) but there was way too much cheese inside. The gravy wasn't the gravy I'm accustomed to (brown chili gravy). This stuff was orange and tasted of clove. It was bizarre. My wife ordered the carne guisada. It was terrible. Not much gravy and the meat was tough, very tough, and fatty. We will return though. The service and atmosphere were great. read more

Pros...the refried beans and steak fajita meat were both very tasty. The service was great. Cons...I ordered a top shelf Mexican martini with Don Julio tequila. What I received was a gut rot martini that I couldn't even drink. You know..."those gringos won't know the difference." Ummmm...guess what...this gringo noticed. The rice was awful. The ranchero sauce on my cheese enchilada was awful. Tasted like canned tomatoes. The noise level was super high. It was difficult to have a conversation with my husband. I was really hungry, it was pouring down raining. We needed to eat! And I was not going home to cook! I hadn't been to this spot before. This has some "Old Leander" feel. It feels very much like home, or small town in there. It's not modern and chain feeling like so many other restaurants. The margarita was good. It put be straight to bed, honestly. I am not much of a drinker though, so there is that. I think I was seriously impressed at how fast the service was. I don't think I've ever gotten food and drinks so fast at a restaurant ever like this. The food was okay. I am not going to say it was the greatest. I flavored my enchiladas with the salsa provided. This restaurant is doing a great job of staying open and following the COVID rules. While maintaining great service. Whether I dine I or carry out they are always really fast and helpful. There can be a wait at dinner time due to the seating requirements, but they do a great job of providing drinks and appetizers to those that want them while they wait outside in the distance area while you wait. read more

Jardin has many restaurants. My favorite is Jardin Corona in Liberty Hill. I have 2 dishes that I order always either Pollo Tequila or ground beef nachos. Let me tell you... it's the same menu and the food here is not as good as JC in LH. Food came out fast and the waitress and host were awesome. As I was eating there was a weird mildew smell coming from the food I thought. I picked up the tortilla container and it smelled like a dirty dish rag. I have eaten here a handful of times and I have given it too many opportunities. Go to Liberty Hill if you can. read more

Came here with my friend and had a good time. Parking is a bit chaotic and it's rather hidden from the road, if you blink you'll miss it but besides that the waiter was attentive and friendly. The food was decently priced and the menu has a lot of choices so even the pickiest eater can probably find something to eat. However, on the second visit, the treatment by the manager's daughter was nothing short of disrespectful, not to mention the drinks we ordered were half filled.
