This is more like a 3.5 star experience. I walked in and placed my order. It was done in about 7 minutes, which was very fast. The food sitting in the counter area did not look very appetizing the way it was stored, but my food looked much better once I received it. I got the chicken tikka marsala platter, and it was pretty tasty. I would come to get it again, as it came with salad, a side and a nice sized piece of naan bread (which was really good). The marsala sauce was on the sweeter side, but I enjoyed it overall. The chickpeas could have had more flavor though. I did not enjoy the veggie samosas. I miss their weekly combos and the lamb curry so much! Still, the Karahi is so good - you can't go wrong with the chicken or the lamb. Their spinach is delicious. Just moved to Baltimore and tried this spot out on a whim. We ordered the food online and it was ready for pick-up in 10 minutes. The place is small and relatively clean. The lamb biriyani (we got it spicy) was pretty awesome! Very flavorful and lots of lamb pieces. It comes with a side of raita. Biriyani is usually eaten with some pickle, so I asked for this to be included but it was missed out. The chicken gyro was so-so. A lot of naan compared to the filling. The chicken itself didn't have much flavor. The gyro came with a side of rice and chaana, so there's lots of food for the price, but the chaana was pretty bland. 4 stars for the biriyani! read more

Pretty good overall. I am a HUGE fan of Indian & middle eastern food and they do it pretty well. My only issues are with the daily specials - I've never once gotten one that was "special." Fantastic food. I've tried multiple kebab options and all of their side items. The baba ghanouj is so good I wish it came in a larger size. I would just keep some in my refrigerator to snack on all the time. Their hummus is topped with a dollop of their spicy chickpea side, which is also fantastic. I'm Pakistani and was missing my mom's food so got some chicken biryani and daal delivery. It came super speedily which I appreciated. The biryani was super flavorful (unlike other area biryanis I have tried), and had a lot of chicken--it exceeded expectations! It was a tad bit on the salty side, but with raita (yogurt) it would probably be good (I just don't like yogurt). I got a side of daal (lentils) to meet my order minimum and it wasn't the best daal of my life, but it also wasn't the worst--it was kind of nostalgic (I haven't had daal in a while). Overall, it obviously didn't meet my mom's food quality, but it hit the spot. Would order again--I want to try the karahis. read more

I was famished when I tried this spot, and I'll say that it was fine. We were enjoying a sunny day in canton square when we found this spot. It's a little bigger than a hole in the wall place, so we were excited. They describe themselves to be a Indian/Pakistani place but we were craving falafel. So we went with the falafel wrap and a vegetable samosa. The falafel wrap comes split with two, wrapped in naan and filled with hummus, tahini, and a tomato cucumber salad. The look of the falafel reminded me of a crab Rangoon rather than a samosa so don't expect it to look typical. Overall- did we get what we wanted? Yes. It just left us feeling like there was more to be desired. One bite in the falafel made me want hot sauce which isn't a good sign. Same with the samosa- the only seasoning was found on the stuffing rather then the puff pastry. I kind of wish both came with more stuffing, but I would have let that go if you here was more kick. We both agreed that the spice/flavor was lacking and it all seemed very watered down. I want to come back and try one of their meat options to really assess. Love this place. One entree lasts me 2-3 meals! They have rotating meat and veggie specials that come with rice, two sides, and naan. Pro tip - you can actually sub the veggie of the day for the sides! Some of my favorite dishes from here are the saag paneer, roasted eggplant, chicken tikka masala and chicken beryani. The chicken beryani is pretty spicy even when ordered medium. It's served with some yogurt sauce, a lemon wedge and a grilled tomato. There is a good amount of chicken within the dish and this is what usually lasts me 3 meals. The chicken tikka masala has that sweet tomato sauce with it that goes delicious with the naan. Saag paneer is also flavorful and has a bit of spice to it also. All of the dishes are quite heavy though so I feel really sluggish afterwards. We usually call ahead and pick up. And according to him, Pakastani's "specialize in MEAT" rather than the plethora of veggie options found at many indian restaurants. Therefore Jasa Kabob = Pakastani = delicious MEAT. This is my new go to for South Asian (no Indian food). As with most south asian places, the spice is key and Jasa Kabob definitely delivers there. However what sets Jasa apart is the quality of their meats. Kabobs (chicken, lamb and BEEF): these are the most juicy and flavorful I've ever had. I usually avoid this at most indian places because of high likelihood of dryness, but Jasa makes their meets consistently tender and juicy, never fail. Biryani: omg so good. rice cooked perfectly, meats inside (lamb or chicken) absorbs all the flavors and retain its moistness. Comes with good sized serving of yogurt sauce that rich and tangy with various light and refreshing veggies inside. Does a great job at cutting the spiciness of the biryani. OVERALL: i will be back for more. AND forgot to mention, the portions are HUGE. no need buffet here. read more

Based on the kind of diningware they use (standard 3 compartment styrofoam plates) for dine-in, I'd say it's like another alternative for Maiwand Kabob. Like, imagine you're pining for a kabob/Indian food flavor. There's Maiwand, and if you want additional options or a slightly different shade of that flavor, there's Jasa Kabob. The price and quantity is almost similar. It's about $9-12 for their meat specials, about $9-10 for veggie specials. You get a big piece of naan, a green sauce, choice of a side (chickpeas, dal, spinach) and a iceberg lettuce salad. You can swap the salad for another side if you want. Their sides are ready-made and they can scoop it straight out of warmed buffet compartments behind the counter. I like how the rice is unique and tastes delicious when piping hot. The spinach is also not as "cheesy" as the typical palak paneer in most Indian restaurants. It's actually more organic tasting and cooked with potatoes. I ordered the chicken jalfrazi and it had a pungent odor but tasted very good. Fresh, white meat. The lamb was not grilled and kind of gamey, but I'm biased since I usually like my lamb grilled halal-cart style. read more

Not COVID friendly--- indoor mask mandates have been placed back in the city and when I went in, 0/4 of the workers I saw were masked. I actually looked at the cook, who was in plain sight and unmasked, and considered forgetting my order and walking out. I decided that was a bit extreme, and paid my $40 for a 2 person serving of chicken tikka masala and 2 garlic naans. And it was really good! if you are averse to spice, this is the version for you. Excellent, small South Asian...diner? It's an inviting order at the counter place in Canton square, the primary Indian food/kebob spot for the area, which delivers everything you could want. I've mostly had it as delivery in the past, but dropped in one day in person as well during the kinetic sculpture race. I wished I lived closer! Different from the standard Indian restaurants in Baltimore, but not really a hole in the wall either. They have all the classic Indian food options, but people really love the kebabs here as you can imagine. The standard gravy based dishes are balanced, not too rich, and overall above average and satisfying - well worth the price. Great assortment of vegetarian options. I still need to try the gulab jaman, but you can get that and catering of food from this place for a nice deal! read more

I tried Jasa Kabob for the first time a few weeks ago for dinner, and ordered the Chicken Beryani (~$10-11), extra spicy. I was surprised at how generous they were with the portion - enough for 3-4 meals for me (enough for 2 meals for my friend). The chicken was flavorful and very moist/tender, and the rice was very well spiced. My biggest complaint was how salty the food was - it was to the point where some bites were almost unpalatable, and I needed to down a bunch of water after finishing my meal. The saltiness came mostly from the rice (the chicken was fine). I ordered from here again (same order) a week or so after and had a near identical experience (similar praises and complaints). Overall, would definitely order again. The quality and quantity of food made for quite the bargain, although I might request less salt for my next order. read more

Depending on how eager I am to adult, I order delivery or takeout. For takeout, my order is always ready when I walk in. I can only assume that the true reason this place is so popular is because of its location on the square and all the drunk people that have come to depend on it, post bar antics. It is not that good. It actually used to be slightly better, but having not been in about a year, I think it's gone downhill. The kabobs are my go to, as I haven't been super impressed with the other menu fare, but on my most recent visit, they were tough and not very flavorful. The portion was also super stingy-six small pieces of meat for a chicken and lamb combo meal, when it should be ten or twelve, based on a regular meal. I have to say, they have chicken and beef samosa, which are not easy to find and when you get them great, they are delicious! It's a convenient location for me, and the closest good kabobs are in catonsville, so I will continue to hope they improve! read more

Tiny hole-in-the-wall place serving up good Indian/Pakistani food! This place is located around O'Donnell Square Park and is a good to-go place for for some Indian food. There is not much room to dine in the restaurant with place for just a handful of folks to sit inside. We ordered Chicken Biryani and Goat Biryani and Kadai Chicken. It was good to see that the flavors of both the biryanis was different and they did not use the same base for both dishes! This was my favorite lunch spot when I worked in Canton. Their daily specials are great value! It almost always lasted me two meals, what with the rice, meat, two vegetable sides, and naan. My favorite is the lamb with spinach on Wednesdays. I didn't even mind staying late at work on Wednesdays because it meant I could walk over to Jasa and get their lamb and spinach for dinner.
