Discovered this little fast food joint while walking. The service was good. The food came in less 10 minutes. The chicken was fresh and so was the naan. I found the samosas to also be fresh. This is a small little fast food place good for a quick meal, you can be in and out in less 30 minutes. It's in a convenient location. We went during dinner time and found it was not busy. Hands down the best Pakistani food in Baltimore. The food is flavourful and despite it's small sitting place, my freinds who accimpied once to Jasa end up making it their prime choice for southeastern food in Baltimore. Was months ago since I ordered from here. The man instantly knew I was a pickup order before I even entered their store. Just straight said, "you're the pickup order right?" LMAO. Guess I look the type. Otherwise, great service, really nice guy. Walked in there and left within a minute. Food was smelling fresh as hell walking 6 blocks to my car. Jasa is an unassuming, hole-in-the-wall gem with great food and friendly people. The menu is simple, the food is solid, and the portions are extremely generous. Two of us shared chicken samosas (order of 2) and a platter of Achar Gosht (spicy lamb curry), which came with (an enormous) naan, rice, salad, green chutney and creamed spinach and potatoes. We even had leftovers! The chicken samosas are probably some of the best that I've had. The outside fried pastry was light, flaky, and not too oily, and the chicken curry filling was savory. The lamb was tender, creamy, spicy, and delicious. The remaining components of the platter were nothing out of the ordinary, but still paired well with our whole meal, which only cost us about $15! Jasa Kabob has changed my outlook on Indian food. I think many have had a bad experience with Indian food, and that had turned me off from trying it again.. until now. After scoping the raving reviews here, I had to give it another shot. Their chicken tikka masala is their best seller, so I decided to go with that. Not only was it a good deal (since it was the special of the day), the portion is huge! It comes with rice, a small salad, choice of vegetable (I got the yummy chickpeas), and a huge serving of naan with sauce. The chicken tikka masala was awesome- the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was so good and creamy you could practically swim in it! The chickpeas were delicious in their own amazing sauce. Ordered Jasa (pronounced "yasa") Kabob for pick up for lunch. I love that this place is locally owned because the owner was willing to let me pick up an order before the restaurant actually opened. Props for accommodating customers! Food items: -The chicken kabob wrap was tasty with juicy halal chicken accompanied by lettuce and onions wrapped in an amazing house made naan/pita. As everyone knows, a wrap in a pits is all about the pita...and this was perfection-thin crispy outside with a chewy pillowy center. I usually get the daily meat special (my favorite is any day they serve lamb). The servings are large, so it lasts 2-3 meals for me. 2/22/14 Straightforward inexpensive, tasty Indian/pakistani food. Jasa Kabob is little more than a carry out spot submersed in one of the busiest areas of Canton Square. However, their food quality makes it clear you don't need linen table clothes and waiters to satisfy your craving for kabobs, chicken tikka masala or gulab jamun. I ventured in hungry and eager to be wowed. I'd heard a great deal about the awesomeness of the place but I was determined to be the judge of that. Initially, I was taken aback by the sparse carryout feel of the place. However, I quickly warmed up to the long tables which facilitated more of a communal style eating experience (a nice change from the typical "i'm eating here but I'm not going to communicate when anyone around me" atmosphere of most eating establishments. Then there's the food....I used chicken tikka masala as my touchstone for all similar restaurant and it just so happened to be the special of the day. Tasty, but different than what I typically expect from tikka masala. I'm accustomed to the rich heavy creaminess of Akbar's versopm (my first foray into Pakistani food). There's was a great deal less heavy and creamy (not in a bad way, but in a way that made me less regretful for eating it). It also was more orange in color and sweeter. It was tasty but not my fav. The chicken, perfectly tender, juicy in the way Tikka should always be. The sauce was just not my pref. It came with a plethora of other tasty things...Chickpeas and naan where my choice. My partner in crime for the day had the Kabob special which was an expansive endeavor. IT smelled wonderful and she devoured it. After wandering all over the Canton square for the rest of the evening, memories of Jasa called to me when hunger reemerged. So, believe it or not...I ate there 2x in one day. IT IS JUST TO DARN EASY AND TASTY! This time I ordered food for home. I got a falafel wrap (amazing), baba ghanouj (comes with naan, yum), gulab juman (this didn't make it home, i had to have right then), and lamb kabob (amazingly yum, my husband destroyed). I will def continue to enjoy Jasa Kabob for it's easy, quickness although being submersed in Canton square make it a bit of a bother trek across town for. Years later...still 5 stars. Quality is very consistent. They always have my favorites on hand - spinach, daal, and at least one type of chicken. The naan is so fluffy and tastes great when dipped in the chutney, which isn't too spicy. That being said, the main dishes themselves are on the slightly spicy side. So, for those with weak tongues like myself, just keep a glass of ice cold water nearby as you eat. It's worth the pain. I recommend the chicken curry on Mondays, as well as the spinach on any day. This was unfortunately a swing and a miss for me. Overall, the food was disappointingly bland and had some strange textures. I got the chicken kabob wrap, which comes with rice and chickpeas. I loved the idea of the dish, but the neither the chicken nor the chickpeas had any real flavor. The brown rice was chewy, like minute rice you buy at the store, and the cilantro chutney was clearly watered down. The naan was also very plain and didn't taste fresh. Interestingly, my partner got the chicken tikka masala and that had much more depth of flavor than anything else we ordered. However his side of daal was again strange in texture-- almost like hard bits of polenta in a sauce. Besides the chicken tikka masala, the veggie samosas were good and the delivery was lightning fast. I was honestly hoping my food would be as good as the reviews i glanced through prior to ordering. I ordered the beef seekh kabob with garlic naan and a mango lassi. I really enjoyed the naan, it's definitely one of the best i have had the pleasure of eating. The lassi and the kabob on the hand are a different story. The mango lassi was very watery compared to what i'm used to. It kind of tasted like a super watered down lassi. It wasn't horrible nor great and i wouldn't recommend it. The beef seekh kabob was seasoned very well but was completely dry which made it a little unpleasant to eat . The customer service was great and my food didn't take too long to be ready which is a plus. read more

What a surprise on how good this place was! I got the falafel platter, asked them to make it vegan, so they only had to cut out one of the sauces... for 9.50, I was handed two plates of food (one was just a fresh naan) and I tore into it. I really tried to finish it all, but the falafel, baba ghannouj, hummus, tabouli, and whatever the cabbage thing is called... all so much - and I'm a big guy! Yum! I was watching the first episode of 'Flight of the Conchords' where Gemaine mentions buying a girl a "kebab" and a kabob craving was aroused in me. Not knowing the Baltimore area too well (since I'm here on business), I did a quick yelp search and this was the first listing. I called in an order for the lamb, beef, and chicken combo with the cauliflower and potatoes (instead of chickpeas) and was told my food would be ready in 20 minutes. I headed over and found street parking right in front of the restaurant. This place is located on the nice stretch of bars/restaurants on O'Donnell Street right across from the park. I asked for a container of hot sauce and they wrapped up my order for me and I brought it back to my hotel. The naan was wrapped in foil and I could feel that it was warm. The first few bites were soft and delicious but once it cooled down, it turned rubbery and chewy in some spots and crunchy and chip-like in others. The rice was seasoned well and I thought it was delicious. The chicken was seasoned tandoori style, full of flavor and tender. The beef and lamb were seasoned similarly but the lamb was so much more tender. The cut of beef that was used was a bit tough and chewy. I loved that you could see the holes in the meat where it had been skewered. The cauliflower and potatoes were really good, lots of flavor and spice, and I loved the mint chutney and the hot sauce gave my meal a nice kick. There was no white sauce on my food (as mentioned in the menu) which was disappointing, but overall, I enjoyed my meal. Went here with my cousin last week... Uh oh.. I better start doing my reviews sooner than later because I forgot the name of my dish... it was a lamb wrap, I know that much. The first thing I noticed is no a/c on a 90+ afternoon. -1 star The second thing I noticed is that I ordered a side of naan for my cousin & me, since we were told our wraps would take several minutes and we received one "round" of naan for 1.50... I don't know why this place gets raving reviews. It's fine- just not up to par. There are so many better options for Indian food. I can't comment on Pakistani dishes but would consider myself pretty well-versed in Indian food. You can skip this place if it's your first time. I've ordered from here a couple of times and just can't get on board. The Naan isn't real naan but more like thick pita that has a sort of naan feel. Samosas were good. But all the dishes, particularly the chicken tikka masala are meh. Not terrible but also eating the leftovers is more like a chore and not a treat. Okay, I will be honest, I did not have high expectations of this place. I really thought it was going to be watered down, Americanized, Indian food, but it turned out to be soooo delicious. We actually got rave reviews about it from our Pakistani Uber driver who swore it was the best biryani he ever had. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best biryani I've ever had, because I grew up in New Jersey, but it was pretty damn good, definitely the best in Maryland. One of the best Pakistani restaurants in terms of taste. They actually have the authentic flavor a of the food served on restaurants in Pakistan. It's a bit different from home cooked Pakistani food. The price is super affordable and the restaurant is a big hit. Located in a very happening bar, restaurant place, it's a must try. I am a vegetarian and tagged along with my boyfriend and his friend for dinner. I ordered the Veggie Samosa and Falafel Platter - the hummus and babaganoush were on point but the falafel was very dry. No amount of chutney was going to cut it. The Veggie Samosa was definitely not like most samosas I have had - the outer shell of the samosa tasted more like a wonton. Plus one for being super easy. The food here is delicious and the portions are enormous! My favorites are the falafel salad, chicken kabob platter, and the chana masala platter. I came here recently again and I had to wait a full 20 minutes for my food. I would definitely call in for an order as everyone else seemed to do that and pick up the food.
