The service was nice and friendly. I ordered the chicken Shawarma plate because of all the positive reviews. The plate had a very large portion of chicken, which I certainly appreciated. The rice though tasted like the chef scraped off all the burnt char from the flat grill and mixed it in with rice! The salad and pita were both 5 star worthy, and the hummus was pretty good as well but didn't stand out. The garlic cause on the side was the only way I was able to get down any of the rice. I'll come back and give this place another shot though. Hopefully it was just an off day for making rice. read more

Good falafel joint with a slightly nicer atmosphere than most A lot of takeout gyro/falafel joints are just that - small, possibly dingy, a place to scamper in, grab a gyro and go. This strip-mall unit has a bit more space than others, and while it's still flourescent lighting, the decor is attractive, the chairs and booths are comfortable, and you can actually have a pleasant sit-down meal here. The food I've had here so far is quite tasty - good pita, smooth hummus that's not overly garlicy, and excellent falafel. I ordered Jasmine Kitchen through Amazon Restaurants after receiving a coupon. I will admit, ordering through Amazon Restaurants, w/delivery fees, tip and tax is pricey. I would not order this delivery if I didn't have a coupon. We ordered two beef and lamb plates, ~$12/a plate, with a discount, was over $30! But sometimes you just don't want to cook or leave the house to get food, so it was worth it. Anyway... Food - So much food! I ate some for dinner and packed the rest up for lunch the next day. The meat was tender and flavorful, slightly dry, but that is where the tzatziki sauce came in handy. I grew up eating white sticky rice and never liked flaky, dry rice, but I can't get enough of their pilaf rice. I love it with the meat. And of course the pita w/the hummus and tzatziki sauce was delish. My daughter, who is at age two picky food stage, ate a bunch of my meal, which made me a happy mama. I enjoyed the food and would definitely eat here again. I can't speak to the service or the restaurant, but the food was really good. read more

I figured I'd give this place a try over the subway next door, what a mistake!! The food was excellent, but the customer service was abhorrent. As it was my first time there I had a question about the menu, and was met with condescending replies. This was strange because the place was empty, and people were not being held up in line with my questions. Furthermore, I had to ask the cashier to repeat himself a few times because he spoke softly with a thick accent. This is not a problem in itself, I have no issue working with someone who is struggling to communicate, but the attitude accompanying communication was very unprofessional. The final issue is that my order was double what I desired, but by this point I was uninterested in aggravating this man any more, so I just paid and got out as fast as I could. read more

We got takeout here. I can vouch for the large portions. You get your money's worth. Also the food is quite tasty compared to some gyros joints--they use more spices or marinades. The eggplant dip was fantastic. The gyros has a different color from what I have seen before but it sure was good. The give you plenty of rice with the gyros plate--I had some leftover. We also got the stuffed grape leaves. And the hummus! So much food but it was for a birthday dinner. Ordered for takeout and got a call they didn't have any chicken for at least an hour. I asked them to cancel my order. They didn't cancel the order but kept calling telling me I needed to cancel but if I did I would only get a $10 refund on my $40 order and get absolutely no food. It takes hardly any effort on their part to cancel the order but they wouldn't do it! They were rude on the phone and claimed the chicken was ready even tho it was only 8 minutes later. I certainly don't want undercooked chicken and I don't appreciate the handling of my order. My first experience eating there wasn't great but I thought I'd give it another chance since it's been a while and the reviews seem good. They just lost a customer. Maybe the pandemic has created worse customer service but that's not how to you treat customers. There is a real person behind the online order, a person who tries to support local restaurants. I won't give a 1 star because I don't want to hurt their business for those who enjoy this place but I'm hoping this review will help build better service. read more

Hummus-bi-tahini is extra smooth and loaded with flavorful extra virgin olive oil and delicious black olive ---- this restaurant is keeping up with my Egypt memory's. The Baba-ganoush is even better and equally as good as I remember. And the Falafel (Taamea) was Amazing ... made with fresh Egyptian ingredients . . . You can taste the real meaning of falafel . . .
