This is a mom and pop shop. The food is below average. The inside is so so I.e plastic chair and wood tables. You pay at the counter. They serve you in paper plates. You have to go get yourself plastic cutlery. They have just one veg option. They do not provide water. They have only bottles. Overall experiments is rubbish for the price.

4.5 Stars I come from a Malaysian background, and I was so excited to find a Malaysian spot in my area--these are hard to come by! This spot is an unassuming gem; it is tucked away in a small strip mall and is casual and family-run. It offers traditional Malaysian dishes, such as laksa, nasi lemak, and rendang. The Set A ($25), which consisted of Nasi Lemak (coconut rice with egg and other sides) paired with Beef Rendang (spiced beef stew) and chicken, was wonderfully flavorful and beautifully presented. The group I went with commented that the price was a tad high; $28 for a rice plate (National Plate) seemed overpriced. It's an order-at-the-counter type of place, but the staff was able to assist my group of eight.

Our family has Malaysian roots, so I brought them here excited to have a taste of home. Food was overall pretty good and flavorful, though portions were a little small compared to the price. Hainanese chicken rice was not as plump as expected. Unfortunately, the major let down was the service. They did not serve water at all (not even tap), which just doesn't feel right for a place with mostly salty and spicy food. Buying bottled water was the only option. You had to order at the counter and tip ahead of time, however it turned out that there was essentially no service. The employees mostly stayed in the back of the store on their phones, and we had to bus our own tables. Most of all, I was sad that the staff did not want to engage with us at all in any sort of chit chat. Most Malaysians are happy to share a bit about their hometowns at the very least, but we were left feeling very ignored and not welcomed at all - which is the opposite of the name of the restaurant. All in all, if you just want pretty good Malaysian food then this is a quick in and out. But I would rather eat at home with my family.

    - get noodles instead of rice dishes - I wanted to like this place since there is only one Malaysian restaurant close to my place, but it was mid. We came here on a Friday night, but the place was quite empty. Even though they welcomed us warmly, the place is a self-serve place. Other than needing to order at the counter, you must get your own utensils and everything. They also don't provide free water, which is super weird. They don't want people to stay there, I guess. My hubby got the Set B (Nasi lemak, roti canai, beef rendang), and I got the Biryani Ayam berempah, which is basically Malaysian Spiced Fried Chicken. The menu was written in a way that it took you a while to understand what is what.. and it was not very intuitive either. I strongly suggest changing it since it'll decrease their turnover rate.. The meal came after 10 minutes, and my husband's beef rendang was good. I didn't enjoy the rice, and the roti canai (Malaysian pancake) was not impressive either. It tastes like something I can make at home. They also didn't provide the curry sauce that usually comes with roti in Malaysian restaurants, which is depressing. The mixed greens on the plate have no dressing, which is odd as well. Our friend ordered the fried rice, and it was super bland. Overall, this place could have been more impressive to me. However, I saw other yelpers mentioning their handmade crepe cake. Maybe that's better than whatever we had here. They also only serve Hainanese chicken rice on Saturdays, which I want to try but I doubt I will go back again..

We were in the neighborhood and decided to check out this place. Parking was convenient and you could park in the front of restaurant or street parking. Kirkland library and PCC supermarket were nearby. We came in right after they opened in the evening and atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered Coconut Pandan Latte, Kopi Tarik coffee, Nyonya Laksa Special (seafood + pork belly) and Combo set A at counter. The staff brought it to our table when it's ready. There's a table where customers could get utensils and plates. The dishes were delicious and we really enjoyed. Keep in mind that customers are to buss their own table. Great experience, we are looking forward to trying their brunch next time.

I'm born and raised in Singapore, and my partner is Malaysian. This cozy family run restaurant reminds us of home. The parents are in the back cooking and their daughter is up front running the cashier. It feels more like a home cooked meal in someone's living room rather than an actual restaurant, so make sure to have the right expectations. In fact, this place is reminiscent of Kedai Makan before they sold their soul. When the owners heard my partner was from the same city they were from, they immediately offered him a secret item : Sarawak Laksa. My partner confirmed it was pretty authentic and almost similar to how his mom cooks it. I loved the Kaya brioche. I usually eat those for breakfast back home in Singapore, so being told it was a dessert made me laugh a little. The prata was great. The rendang was flavourful, but the beef could have been a little softer. I've read the other reviews. Yes, it's a little pricey for what it is. Yes, it's a little smaller portion than everywhere else. But it's quite literally a small family run operation, and they don't have scale. So hey - if you're looking to support local, start here.

Cute little spot for authentic Malaysian food! The staff are friendly and we got to chat with the owner a bit which we enjoyed. Will definitely be coming back for more -The nyonya seafood laksa was absolutely delicious and I'm so happy to have found a good laksa place. The portion size was perfect and there was a good mix of seafood/other toppings. -The mee goreng was tasty as well but I definitely needed the side of sambal we ordered. -The teh tarik was so frothy and delicious The place has limited seating and a small parking lot in front. They don't have tap water which is strange - I wish they would have water available

the beef plate is DELICIOUS and the rotis here are out of this world, I don't even understand how they make it so flaky and heavenly. the restaurant is small and seems like most people do takeout, it's not very fancy or serious- food served on paper plates. pro tip they don't give you water so bring your own or pay up

We have been wanting to try Reunion for sometime now and finally made it. This is a family run restaurant, serving authentic Malaysian food. I got the House Pork Belly Fried Rice, and my husband got Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah. I loved the Pork Belly fried rice, the addition of quinoa added another texture to the fried rice that I loved. We loved the chicken in Nasi Lemak, and the chilli sambal that came with it.

This is a family run business that serves the most authentic Malaysian food! Every visit brings me right back to a hawker stall in Kuala Lumpur. You order at the counter then take a seat at any open table. You've got to try their nasi lemak! Their pork belly fried rice is a major hit. I always make sure to order extra roti - the buttery flaky goodness is what I imagine angels eat in heaven. My only gripe - they're always out of rice, which is a shame because their nasi lemak is a classic must-try dish! Also, they don't serve tap water so you'll have to buy bottled or another canned beverage.

Tl;dr fun delicious Malaysian food Came here for a quick dinner and was surprised to find a Malaysian restaurant in downtown Kirkland. Was able to quickly order and was delicious!

Parking can be a little tight in the small lot just outside the restaurant, but if that's the only non-5-star element I can think of, so you know Renunion is going to be great! We've tried so many of the items on the menu, including the more difficult to find drinks and desserts. When you combine that with the family-owned vibe there, it's a really great experience. Not just for us, but for the kids as well. There's more than enough reviews about the food itself here in yelp, so read up for a few minutes and just swing by, maybe a little outside of the surge hours (for example, they closed around 2pm today and we swung by around 130pm - it was only 75% full then).

First time trying Malaysian food and they did not disappoint!! I got the noodle soup special and it was full of spices and flavor, with such a generous amount of toppings. They were so friendly and checked in with us how the food was. It is a bus your own table place.

Its a good size restaurant with big menu; plenty of options to pick and choose. Service was good; waited a while to get seated but we notice it was only one person working in the front and she was helping a table so we think nothing of it. The menu/pictures looks good. What we got: Shrimp fritter (2.5/5) This wasn't it for us; not sure if it was the batter; but after we ate one; it felt oily? And it just stuck in our mouth. I would get a different appetizer next time. Nasi Goreng (1/5) Sorry; this was not what we expected either. Maybe im just used to flavorfull Nasi Goreng. It was bland and it was more of like a rice pillaf that barely touch the wok. I really hope this was just a one of those day and it usually good. It looks really good when it arrives and we were so excited; but when we started eating it; we were very surprise. Panang char kway thew (3.5/5) This one was decent; plenty of flavor. We like it. Belachan shrimp and sring bean (4/5) Best one from all the ones we ordered. Plenty of flavor. We use some of the sauce to mix in to nasi goreng. Teh Tarik (4/5) Good teh tarik. Really enjoy it. Har ko sai (4/5) Enjoy it. Good balance of both the mili and coffee Overall It could be better; I think my expectation was too high. Again; plenty of people were there so guessing they like them. Probably will try again if we are in the area.

Luckily I was able to snag reservations, but you do sit pretty close to the tables around you. We didn't mind since we had a corner table. To share, we ordered the chicken curry nasi lemak, sayap ayam pedas, and kaya toast. All three dishes were phenomenal, each with its own distinct flavor. The sayap ayam pedas was a huge portion for just 2 people, but we couldn't stop eating. The combination of soy sauce and fish sauce was not overpowering at all and the chicken itself was so juicy. The chicken curry in the nasi lemak was delicious with the coconut rice. Along with the anchovies, egg, peanuts, and sambal, it was a choose-your-own-adventure kind of bite. The kaya toast was the perfectly sweet dish to balance out all the flavors. I especially loved dipping it in the poached egg for a satisfyingly runny bite. I left feeling so full, but so motivated to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend!

From the moment you walk in, the cultural atmosphere stands out--many of the patrons are Asian, and on my visit, a few were even dressed in traditional garments, which added a vibrant, lived-in feel to the space. It's the kind of detail you can't manufacture, and it speaks volumes about the restaurant's credibility within the community. The interior itself is fairly average--nothing particularly modern or upscale--but it doesn't detract from the experience. If anything, it keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. There were only two servers handling the floor, and they were clearly stretched thin. Ordering is done digitally, which helps streamline things, but you can still feel the strain during peak times. That said, the food started arriving quickly--our tofu noodle dish came out almost immediately, while the beef dish lagged behind a bit. Presentation leans traditional in a charming way. The plates and chopsticks have that classic, no-frills aesthetic that complements the overall vibe of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food. First, a word of caution: spice levels here are no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, you'll want to dial it down. But if you can handle it, the flavors are absolutely worth it--rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was exceptionally soft, almost silky, and clearly freshly prepared. The noodles matched that texture perfectly--tender, well-cooked, and comforting. Pricing is another strong point. For the quality and portion sizes, it's very reasonable, making it an easy spot to revisit without hesitation. Overall, Nine Noodles is a great pick if you're looking for authentic flavors, a culturally immersive atmosphere, and solid value. It's not about fancy decor or polished service--it's about good, honest food. I'd definitely come back.
