My friend has told me numerous times that this place has the absolute best Pad Thai he has ever had in his entire life. He's Vietnamese so needless to say he takes his Asian food very seriously. However, anytime anybody tells me something is "the best they've ever had" I get a bit skeptical as it sets the bar extremely high and opens the door for potential disappointment if your mind is not completely blown by your experience. Anywho fast forward and I ended up going two days in a row for this Pad Thai as I was instantly craving it again after the first time I had it. Yep, I guess this is the best Pad Thai I've ever had. Perfect mixture of flavors and texture with every bite. I couldn't put my fork down after my first bite. Guess I found a new go to for after work take out. Anyways, here's a 5 star review for you Jasmine Thai, you did in fact blow my mind. One of the best Thai food restaurants in the area! It's located across from the Boulevard Mall in a small black plaza! Parking is free and inside there is enough room for people to enjoy their food. I have been coming to Jasmine for years and my go to dish Amazing Chicken never disappoints! They accommodate all dishes to your preference of how spicy or non spicy you want your food! I'll take it extra spicy please! Staff is always friendly and do a great job at making sure you're satisfied! If you love Thai food I definitely recommend Jasmine, you won't be disappointed! What to get: Wonderful Thai Tea, excellent Thai Green Curry What not to get: Laid off if you work down a coal mine What do coal mines have to do with anything: We'll get to that later If they sold blue plate specials to blue collar workers who were down the shaft for days on end, they'd be Coalmine Thai. If they sold LSD, they'd be Amphetamine Thai. And if they were Phil Collins lamenting about how his Dad disowned him, they'd be Nosonofmine Thai. But they're not. I loved the Thai Tea here for years, and the first time I tried their food I was pretty happy. Prices aren't cheap (except for lunch specials, which are small portions, and still not dirt cheap), but the Thai Green Curry was spectacular... probably the best I had in town. It made me want to come back and try more stuff. If they sold fresh squeezed OJ, or steroids, they'd be Juicemine Thai. If they sold saxophones, they'd be Jazzmine Thai. And if they shared restaurant space with an all-American diner that openly dissed anyone serving cuisines other than American, they'd be Juxtaposition Thai. But they're not. However, when I came back to try more stuff, I had negative experiences. The Green Curry wasn't as good, and was a half-size portion. The Fried Rice was pretty bland and did nothing for me, especially compared to the amazing stuff over at Teton where they make the best Thai Basil Fried Rice imaginable. If they were a racing driver named Ackles, they'd be Jensen Thai. If they sang hymns and solemn Welsh songs, they'd be Josh Groban Thai. And if they weren't funny at all - not even a little bit - they'd be Jimmy Fallon Thai. But they're not. I will say that the Curry Roll here is pretty good, though. Nevertheless - Perhaps worst of all was the service. I had to wait what seemed like forever for my food which had already been completed and was ready. I saw it sitting there, and nobody would give it to me. I almost went into the kitchen area to grab it myself. I'd already paid. It was frustrating. Needless to say, by the time I got it in my mouth it was lukewarm. I think the food quality can be a 5 here, as can the Thai Tea taste, but overall I have to give 4 stars. And if they were a futuristic cartoon family, they'd be Jetsons Thai. If they were a tall lizard with long floppy ears and bug eyes on Star Wars, they'd be Jar-Jar Thai. I went to this restaurant with a coworker and my overall experience was positive. We went around noon and there weren't a lot of people so finding a table wasn't a big issue. This place is extremely dark. Even though we went during the day, the overall lighting situation wasn't the best. It didn't help that they gave us the table in the back of the restaurant. :/ We both ordered the Bangkok Pasta (Fresh Rice Noodle), which was highly recommended. The food came out pretty fast (I think about 10 minutes into ordering). To be honest, it was a little underwhelming... I expected there to be more flavor and spice but it was pretty bland. The service was good; different employees kept coming to check on us and to refill our waters. Came here for lunch with some co-workers this past week and left pretty impressed! The restaurant is located in a strip-mall looking area so it doesn't really stand out and the inside is kind of small, but it was able to accommodate our party of 12 while having a whole other section free during the lunch hour so it's adequate. Inside the restaurant though was tidy and pleasant. Since this was the first time I ever had Thai food, I was told to get the Pad Thai Chicken. They took their time preparing the dish and when it came out, I was thoroughly impressed. The amount of food I got was incredible and it tasted absolutely great! Nice part was that it filled me up for less than $10. I will be back to get that again or maybe even try to step out of my comfort zone a bit more and try one of their hotter dishes. read more

I would probably say this is the best Thai I've had so far in buffalo. I would drive by jasmine after leaving school but I finally decided to check it out with a friend.... and boy was I surprised! We were quickly seated by the waitress and were on our way to ordering our food. I ordered the green curry medium. It was PERFECT. I would stress that if you don't want any kind of heat mild is probably the way to go. I'm from the Caribbean and medium gave me the nice kick I needed. There's something about jasmines white fluffy rice that really got me feeling good! I highly recommend this place (at least for the curry). I will be back here very soon to try some more dishes and to review them! P.S. it took them about 20/25 minutes to make our food. I'm assuming because they make everything fresh! Just be patient. The only thing that I love about this place is it's cleanliness and portion sizes. Most Thai restaurants have spice levels but this place did not. Ordered online from Jasmine this evening. Online platform was easy to use from my phone. Most items allow for sauce modifications, elimination of different ingredients and spice level. Only minor complaint is no option for spice level on Pad Thai?? We ordered Pad Thai, Penang Beef, the breaded fish, Beef noodles, and Tom Yum soup. Order was on time. Pick up experience was great, they had things organized, extra condiments were available. All items were received as ordered, labeled nicely with printed tags attached to the containers. The Tom Yum soup is excellent with large portions of Chicken. The PadThai and Penang Beef are large portions, at least two if not three meals there. I remember seeing Jasmine Thai Restaurant when I first moved to Buffalo about 2 years ago and for some reason I have been avoiding this place. I have no reason as to why, I've never read the reviews and I've never even heard anyone talk about it. I ended up wanting some Thai food on Saturday and ended up finally giving in and giving Jasmine Thai a try on Saturday afternoon and now I'm slapping myself in the face for waiting so long. I came here in the afternoon and the place had a good amount of people in it. We were seated in a booth as soon as we entered and the service was fast and friendly throughout the visit. Like other Thai establishments the menu here is pretty large and offers all the appetizers, salads, soups, desserts, and entrees you could ask for. I decided to try the Beef Panang a try because the picture on the menu looked way too good to pass up. On top of the entrée I ordered a side of the curry rolls to split with my girlfriend and they were absolutely delicious! It was like eating an egg roll filled with rice and curry (which was exactly what it is). The main course came soon after and I couldn't of enjoyed it more. The Beef Panang had so much flavour that I couldn't stop eating it and since the plate was covered in the sauce I mixed all the white rice with it to make the perfect side dish. What can I say that I haven't already said? This place has easily become my favourite Thai place in the Buffalo area. Jasmines is probably one of the best Thai restaurants I've ever had, not only in Buffalo, but including New York City where I'm originally from. First and foremost, they offer a wide range of options on their menu from appetizers, to drinks, entrees, and desserts. They offer pho as well as their traditional Thai options. Some of my favorites are: Bangkok Pasta: This can also be known as the traditional Pad See Eew dish from any other Thai restaurant. I've had this with shrimp, chicken, and beef before. If you're a vegetarian, they do offer the option of tofu as well. This dish comes with an orange sauce that's a bit sweet and tangy that compliments the dish really well. A lot of my friends pour the whole sauce into the dish but I like to just dip my bites in there because the dish is great without it already! Green Curry: Their green curry is hands down amazing. It comes with a variety of vegetables and a selection of protein. It's spicy but not too spicy (you can adjust the spicy level). You can taste the coconut milk but it's not too overpowering and heavy. Panang Curry: Besides the green curry, their panang curry is also exceptional for those that do not eat spicy. The curry gives off a strong coconut aroma and it's just amazing. Pad Kee Mao: This dish is really really spicy. I can usually eat spicy but when I order this I always tell them to make it mild because mild is already extremely spicy for that dish. Though the spice is intense, it is also packed with flavor, highly recommend for someone who can take the heat! Thai Iced Tea: Typical drink you get from a Thai restaurant but you have to have it here!!!! Thai Iced Coffee: The coffee taste is strong and so is the condensed milk! It's sweet but also strong at the same time. Overall, Jasmines offer a generous amount. I can never finish my food. I always pack my leftovers for another meal! Even though it's pricier than most Thai restaurants in the area, the price does not stop me from coming back because the quality of the food is amazing. Jasmine has been my go-to place for comfort Thai place for when I lived in the suburbs. It's reasonably priced, casual enough for a gathering with friends or a low-pressure first date and the food is pretty good. It's definitely not the best Thai food I've had, but they make up for it with huuuge portions and it being tasty (although it may not blow your mind). I was recently in the area and came back here for dinner and was impressed...again! What stood out to me about the experience: - An aquarium with what Bethany M dubbed: grumpy fish. Definitely pay attention to this funny looking fish! - The kitschy menu names: "AMAZING CHICKEN CURRY," "THAI PASTA" (pad see ei). - Huge portions: I ordered the amazing chicken curry w/brown rice: lots of chicken, curry and I asked for it to be very spicy..and IT WAS. Tons of pepper and kick to it. Had a lot to take home with me and I usually never have left overs. I thought the broccoli and carrots that were served with the dish weren't cooked. I'd have preferred they sauteed them; I think they were going for decoration, but it just didn't work for me. The vegetable spring rolls we had were tasty as well -- loved the sauce they were served with! Yum :) The Thai iced coffee was OK, would have liked it to be a bit smoother. I have been to Jasmine at least 40 times (don't judge me) and I am always impressed. The food is served piping hot and consistently delicious. My favorite dish is the Chicken & Shrimp Pad Thai. I've been on a search for a better Pad Thai all over the United States. I am yet to find one that I like better than Jasmine's. I'm obsessed with the sauce they cook the noodles in. The ingredients are all very fresh! I also really love splitting the Jasmine sampler. The sampler comes with fresh spring rolls, egg rolls, dumplings and vegetable tempura. One of the best parts of the sampler is the sauces they give you for dipping. They are so unique. You must also be sure to get the coconut ice cream with fried banana coins, drizzled with honey and crushed peanuts. It's so light and refreshing. The servers are incredibly friendly. Entering the restaurant it was immediately apparent that customer service was lacking a bit because my friend and I had to ask to be seated? Once we were seated the waitress was pretty friendly but clearly did not understand to many english language terms. As a result we ordered an appetizer that was cold when we expected it to be hot. When this was expplained to the waitress she did bring us the substitute that we requested but never removed the first item from the bill in the end. For my entree I chose the jasmine thai fried rice which was served in a large enough portion that I could save half for another meal. Visiting the area with some colleagues on a business trip. This was an old haunt of one in our party. This is an older restaurant in a strip mall. Nothing particularly fancy, but it worked for our group. I started with the Chicken Cream of Coconut soup. I kept the heat low on this one and it was very good. Some others at the table ordered other appetizers and commented how they might have enjoyed the soup. For my main course, I ordered the Pad Gapow. The menu stated that it was only available HOT or VERY HOT. Sounded like a challenge. My group involved a few "pepperheads" and I said I'd take it all-the-way. The waitress said "Thai hot?" Sure, why not. I am no stranger to flaming hot Thai food, but this was probably the hottest dish I have ever eaten. One of my partners wondered about the heat, as my hair was starting to sweat. She is one who can take the heat - when I gave here a taste of what was on my plate, she insisted that I stop eating it immediately - it was too hot for her! I finished most of it and it was very good. One thing about Thai food and heat is that the flavor usually overpowers the heat. I don't like food that is only hot for the sake of being hot, but if the flavor is big, make it as hot as you like. I'll say here that the flavor of the food was, at best, equal to the level of heat. A little less heat or a little more flavor and the meal would have been a little better. I would return and would sample more from the menu on another trip to the area. read more

We came here for a quick dinner and ordered crispy noodle for appetizer and Penang curry, pad kee mao for entrees. The crispy rice noodle tastes exactly like puffed rice with some sweet and tangy spices. Pad kee mao was OKish, nothing special. Penang curry looked completely different than in the menu, so I asked the waitress about it and she had no idea. Anyway, we tried whatever it was but totally enjoyed the flavor. The noodles were well made with plenty of vegetables and the sauce was subtle yet the spice level made it feel rich. The portion was good enough to eat as two separate meals. The only issue I faced was the wait time which was 1.5 hours, but since it was a Friday night I guess it's understandable with everyone ordering in. Always my go to place for Thai food. After a big event with my friends, we always come here for lunch or dinner. They are very accommodating with the amount of people we bring! (usually 6+). They are always able to give us a table and allow everyone to sit together. What is a plus is that they give each person a separate bill so you pay on your own. They're super nice there and keep cool even when servicing a lot of people. I do that little thing where I say I'm going to try different things but always and up getting the same thing. I always get thai iced tea, chicken and shrimp pad thai, and the spring rolls. The food is always great and better for lunch time week day deals. The restaurant itself wasn't the cleanest, and looked like it could use some work (especially the bathroom) but I don't go for the looks (although it does matter) and the food was good! Positives: Tons of vegetarian options and the food is really good. The portion sizes are huge, so it always ends up as 2 meals for me. They have a small menu, but every time that I've ever gone here every member of our party has enjoyed what they ordered. They have tons more items on the dinner/take-out menu that I'd like to try. Negatives: The cooks won't customize your meal to your desired level of spiciness. They point you to a canister on the table, which does work but takes a little more effort since the plate is small and they fill it to the brim with food, so it's tough to stir in the additional sauce. We sat right next to a fish tank with a giant eel in it that kept opening it's mouth and making faces at me. Normally, I like fish but this one was just creepy looking... Having just moved here from Cleveland, one of my biggest regrets is leaving behind my favorite Thai place of all time. When my mom came to visit me in CLE last year, I managed to get her hooked on Thai food. Since then, she and I have been on a mission to find the best Thai in Buffalo.
