Penang Curry (spelling) ... Very tasty at a very reasonable price. This restaurant deserves more traffic!

Ate here for lunch with my parents on a whim. None of us eat chain food and Bastrop has limited options. My parents have never had Thai food and I always try to get them to expand their palates. We decided to come here, with barely looking at the menu and seeing it when driving by. It's near downtown bastrop, cute little historical town. When we walked in, we saw a sign for fine dining, the restaurant is not aesthetically pleasing enough to be considered fine dining but the food certainly is! Over all everything was great We ordered; the spring rolls(8) good portion for three-four people The vegetable fried rice with tofu-Great flavor, huge portion, a little too much egg for my taste. It would have been better with less egg and more veggies. Presentation was awesome! My dad had the lemon grass chicken-very juicy, perfect portion, nice side pairing (green beans and rice) My mom had the Tom yum with chicken soup, big portion, not as spicy as expected. Semi sweet with coconut base. Recommended by chef jasmine herself. Everything was great, the presentation was beautiful, the entree portions were big for lunch, we were very pleased and will be back. The dining area could use a bit of updating..maybe play some music? Change the lighting or wallpaper? New furniture? Regardless if it's a hole in the wall, we loved it and will be back!

Service is dogshit everyone in the place had an empty glass with just a man on his computer the whole time. Food is subpar at best. They need to put a fountain machine up or something no one is your server in this shit hole. Also had a service fee on the ticket but for what service??? Place is a joke keep driving if you're passing through Bastrop

Was craving Thai food so thought I'd give this place a try. I started with the vegetable spring rolls, they were served piping hot with a side of dipping sauce, very crispy and lots of flavor. I really liked the lemon grass chili dipping sauce, just a little heat and delicious. My BF had the pork egg rolls, he said they were full of flavor, also served very hot, with a side of spicy plum sauce. For my main entree I had the Pad Thai with tofu, it was very fresh and a healthy serving, had plenty to bring home for lunch the next day. My BF has the combination fried rice-all cooked to order, veggies were fresh and again, plenty of left overs for lunch. Restaurant very very clean and comfortable. The owner also let me try their iced green tea and iced Thai tea-both are delicious! Will definitely be back!

Love Love Love this place !!!!! Wasn't expecting anything out of ordinary (You know, Bastrop) but this place blows my mind. We wasn't sure with the look of the restaurant but we still give it a try, and we were glad we did. My father-in-law had a THAI ICE TEA, which was really good. Then we had 2 VEGGIE SPRING ROLLS, it was eh... but when we got the #3 GRAND GREEN CURRY & #11 JASMINE's PAD THAI DELIGHT, omg it was amazing. All of the flavors were on point and the presentation looks great. I'm a regular at Thai Cuisine Restaurants and a Asian Mom, so I can be pretty picky when it comes to food. But this place, it's a must try and I'll definitely be back ! (Well.... at least every time when I come up here to visit my dad)

I've got to add what the hubby and I tried via take-out this evening. He got the chicken and shrimp Pad Thai "extra spicy" and it had the right amount of heat for him. I got the Phanang Curry with chicken and lived up to the menu's description of salty, sweet, nutty, and moderately spicy. As far as portion, there was a good amount of chicken, potatoes, and carrots. Also a big serving of rice. Those wings though! We love Titaya's wings and their dipping sauce. The wings themselves were large wings (see the picture of the wing compared to the rice from another Yelper) and could stand on their own without sauce. We opted for the Thai Fire and Sweet Chili dipping sauce. I loved the burn of the Thai Fire at the end of the bite. The husband preferred the not quick as spicy Sweet Chili. I look forward to coming back and trying more off their menu! Best Thai in Bastrop hands down.

Tried DA's Thai Cuisine for pickup and had a little bit of a mixed experience…read more First things first -- the place itself is nice, clean, and the staff is personable. No complaints there. Ordering and pickup were smooth. Now let's talk food. The deep-fried egg rolls (stuffed with carrots, cabbage, and clear bean noodles, served with sweet and sour sauce) were really good. Crispy, hot, and flavorful. Solid start. The steamed dumplings? Now those were the star of the show. Made with pork, shrimp, crab meat, green onions, and carrots -- and served with their special sauce. That sauce paired perfectly with the dumplings. Balanced, flavorful, and just worked. Out of everything we ordered, this was the clear home run. I also ordered what I believed to be the Thai papaya salad. From what I can tell comparing ingredients, I did receive the Thai-style version (shredded papaya, garlic, fish sauce, tomatoes, lime juice, palm sugar, topped with peanuts). Unfortunately, I was not impressed. I've had papaya salad at other Thai spots where the peanuts are roasted and really incorporated into the dish. Here, it felt like the peanuts were just tossed in at the end. The overall flavor just didn't come together, and I wouldn't order that again. My husband had the Thai fried rice (his second time ordering it), and he thoroughly enjoys it -- so that's a win on his side. For me, out of the egg rolls, papaya salad, and steamed dumplings -- the dumplings were the only real standout. Would I go back? Probably not. But that's just my experience -- don't let me be the deciding factor. Give it a try and see what hits for you.

Solid spot for Thai!…read more Everything was great -- textures and flavors on point. Loved that they had a selection of crispy pork belly dishes. Got the #48 (crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli). It was tasty as take-out and I'm sure it's even better on the spot. Chinese broccoli was cooked perfectly. Also tried the crispy wings which were yummy as well. Finally, my husband's Pad Thai was excellent (perfectly flavored, with nicely crisped tofu). Noticed a lot of vegetarian options here, if that's your thing. Definitely recommend!

The food comes with some hot pepper powder, pickled jalapeños, and sambal sauce on the side if you ask for hot sauce. If you have a higher spice tolerance, you can ask for fresh Thai chili on the side instead! Our usual order is usually the pad Thai and garlic crispy pork with cilantro sauce! The crispy pork is crispy, but also soft once you hit the meat. It is a good choice for those who don't like only crispy skin, or only meat. It's the best of both worlds. The pad Thai is nicely moist without being too soggy. It's sticky at most. Once you mix it with the bean sprouts, it comes out perfect. I also recommend their Thai tea! I get one every time and it isn't overly creamy. The music is pretty loud if there aren't a lot of people in the restaurant, but it's not too bad. The service is always amazing since I believe the owners are always at the restaurant.

I tried to find something "different" to avoid the lunch rush. What better than the side cafe in a Thai market? As hoped, it more than met the expectations. You turn left in the market and order from the cashier. There's some paper menus. Then you go to the other side and find a seat. Shortly afterwards this older gentleman will deliver the most amazing Thai meal you can imagine. Oh man, it almost makes me wish I get called up on jury duty again. I went with a classic Pad Thai lunch menu. Came with a wonderful spring role and some soup. Both were excellent. The Pad Thai was just insanely good. It's been about 20 years since I've been to Thailand so maybe my taste buds are aged, but it made me think I was back.
