I have to give credit to my gf for introducing me to Jason's Courtyard, his delicious warm chai tea drink and chai teas in general. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't have ever bought anything from Jason's. You see, I don't like coffee, so, therefore, I wouldn't even approach his stand. Even though, he does sell water, sodas, bagels, pastries and other good stuff. That was wrong of me. Ever since the day she let me have a sip of her chai tea, I instantly fell in love and was addicted. i do recall buying two chai teas daily for the following week. His chai teas are amazingly delicious! First of all, unlike many other coffee shops, he uses chai powder as appose to the syrup kind or chai tea bags, which simply, suck. Big thumbs up for that Jason.I do appreciate that I have the option of choosing organic soy milk over regular milk. And, I love adding a lot of cinnamon powder on top. It really enhances the flavor of the drink and I like the clumps of cinnamon when drinking the last few ounces of it. I have such an appreciation for the process of the drink. Of course, i'm writing strictly about the chai tea but he does sell many other drinks and coffees. And, he has many bagels, pastries, snacks, fruit, sandwiches, sodas, water and juices to chose from. The prices are extremely reasonable and he accepts cash, visa and mastercard. Another big thumbs up for accepting cards. I rarely have cash on me. Not only are you purchasing great tasting quality reasonable priced items, you will receive amazing and courteous customer service from Jason and january. These two are always in a happy mood with big bright smiles. Oh man, I LOVES me some Jason's Courtyard Cafe! Jason and staff are awesome. They treat everyone like they've known them forever. They're amazing. Honestly? I like their drinks better than Starbucks. Yeah, I said it. I even love where the cart is located. There's such a peaceful vibe over there--a perfect little getaway from the hustle and bustle of work. I've been coming to Jason's since I began taking classes and started working at SWC. They have an amazing tea & coffee selection with affordable prices. Something I truly enjoy is that they offer sugar-free & dairy-free options on all beverages. As for bakery items, my favorite has to be the jalapeño & cheddar cheese bagel with the spicy cream cheese (I believe all their cream cheeses are homemade which is a huge plus). OH and the spinach bagel is to die far as well, but it does sell out very quickly. read more

I've been coming to Jason's since I started college at SWC a few years ago. Hands down, my absolute favorite coffee shop in all of San Diego! I'm not an avid coffee drinker, but the coffee here has been a saving grace for me. I love their coffee because it's sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet. I order their ice coffee all year round, but sometimes I order their hot coffee, which tastes just as great. My favorite drinks are the Polar Bear and the Divinity, but I heard all the drinks here are very delicious. Not to mention, their coffee is A LOT cheaper and I personally think it's better compared to Starbucks. I stopped getting Starbucks in the mornings before class because I knew the coffee at Jason's was more worth my money. Unfortunately I graduated from SWC this year, so I'm very sad I don't have access to Jason's all the time anymore. :( My sister started attending SWC though, so sometimes I ask her to bring some of their coffee back home for me, haha. Love Jason's! I'm obsessed with their lose leaf chai tea latte. Order one every time I'm on campus! Also love their cheddar jalapeño bagels w/ the house made vegetable cream cheese. It's heaven! Service can be a bit slow when they're busy, but totally worth the wait! I personally prefer Starbuck's coffee options, but Jason's teas are unbeatable. I hate to be the one to give this cafe 4 stars, but it's only because about almost every employee there has poor customer service. Every time I decide to get coffee here in hopes of receiving better service as well, I don't. They disappoint me because they don't really have manners. I felt like I was the only one saying please and thank you. I don't know about you, but I certainly would like to hear that. Today when I ordered my drink they didn't even call it out so I know that it was ready. Sigh, hopefully next time it's a better experience. Other than that, I really do love their coffee. Something about the drinks keep me coming back because of their quality of the taste is so rich. My favorite would have to be the divinity and pumpkin chai during the fall season. read more

I don't know if I have enough adjectives to adequately describe the wonderfulness of Jason's Courtyard Cafe. Every time I go to the cart (and I go frequently), I get superior service, and I leave with a smile on my face. Much like the bar on the TV show Cheers, the beauty of Jason's place is the fact that it feels like a home away from home, a place of sanctuary where students and faculty can unwind between classes (mind you, I'm not suggesting going to bars to relieve school induced stress, at least, not in this review anyway) But let's not forget the Cafe also offers a plethora of drink and snack choices. There are sweets for the sugar lovers and healthy stuff for those who want to avoid sweets. Plus there are organic coffee & tea choices for anyone so inclined. The variety is nothing short of amazing. No matter what mood I'm in, I can find something to please my pallet. As I sit here, I'm racking my brain trying to think of anything that might fall in the minus category (since everything I'm writing is a major plus), but honestly, I can't think of a single thing to put. I visit Jason & co. in the courtyard as often as I get the chance to. My favorite drink is the iced passionfruit tea, which is made even better by a customizable shot of fruit- or assorted tasty-flavored syrups. But there are tons of other drink options for the coffee inclined. I really appreciate that the cafe stocks lots of healthy snacks, which is perfect if you find yourself on campus and forgot to eat breakfast. Polar bear is my favorite but I'm always excited to try new things here as well! Iced and hot! I love that this coffee cart uses the square for cards! It emails you your receipt and your on your way! I'm only here at school on mwf and leaving to go away to school next semster and I'm so sad to leave this coffee! I even come here on my days off from school for my coffee! I currently attend Southwestern college and no coffee, latte, or tea place is better on campus than Jason's! Not only is Jason friendly but so is his entire staff. I usually order a soy chai latte or a dirty chai along with a scone. One time they forgot about my order but it didn't take them long AT ALL to realize they forgot my order. I really appreciate that they notice that if a customer has been standing longer than a few minutes they ask what their order was again. PLUS, the employee upgraded my drink for free for making me wait so long (which really wasn't long at all). The coffee is a great morning smell to pass by while walking to class. For a small business they are growing strong despite the mediocre Starbucks on campus! read more

This is my favorite place at SWC to get coffee. Definitely a much bigger selection compared to other places on campus. The pastries are delicious and fresh. Aw, man. Summer 2011: I had to take a 9 week Intermediate Algebra course over here because my school was closed for the summer. I was super bummed. Hated math (thank god that changed). 1 hour 45 minute public transit ride there and back (3 buses, 1 trolley). SUCH a bummer. My daily interactions with Jason and his staff made those weeks tolerable. They were always so cheerful, friendly, lovely. I think back on that summer fondly because of my experience at Jason's. I didnt understand her the first time and she said it again but that time she raised her voice at me. Im always nice to employees but if they get an attitude I do too. This is a fine establishment that I frequent. The staff is friendly and cheerful, and they provide good service. The coffee? Dunno. Don't drink coffee, but they have all sorts of other beverages and treats. They have a rice crispy treat that I was addicted to until a recent life rehab. But I backslide. My office is on the opposite side of SWC and next to a very convenient cafe that's part of a national chain. I still walk across campus and get my coffee from Jason's. The expresso drinks are delicious and reasonably priced, and the regular coffee is amazing. There's always a good selection of roasts available, too. The baked goods are fresh, and the rotating selection of fruits, granola bars, and cookies gives the selection variety. Highlights: regular coffee, Border Mochas, homemade spicy cream cheese on a jalapeño-cheese bagel, and the warm and wonderful customer service. read more

Best place to get your coffee or in my case tea! Jason and all the people working at Jason's Courtyard Café always receive their customers with a smile and their service is great. I like going there because the teas are delicious, let them be hot or cold I enjoy them both, and I especially like that they are organic. Whenever I try something new they always surprise me with the delicious flavors and the perfect combinations; I tried the Chai Latte and ever since I am hooked! If I liked their teas before, now I LOVE them. I also fell in love with the muffins and other seasonal treats Jason has, the ones with pumpkin are my favorite! It has become a habit for me now to go to Jason's at any time but I especially like to go there during my evening class break because I can get a delicious tea to warm me up.
