Wow!! The staff let us stand where one used to order dine in before I asked for the protocol.. Thankfully I asked the one person who made I eye contact with me allowed me to figure it out. I asked the cashier if they still offered a half soup half salad special. But I looked on the menu and didn't see it. He told me that yes we have it. It's just not on the menu. None of the ordering exchange was warm or welcoming.. just obligatory. The restaurant was quiet and clean. The salad bar needed slight attention. All in all it was fine. Doubt highly I will be back. You see this broccoli cheddar soup? This is the only broccoli I found in this sea of yellow water. This soup is my favorite item so I'm unhappy. I asked for mayo and mustard on the New York but it's so dry, I have to add more to keep from choking. Based on the other reviews, there seems to be serious issues at this location. Maybe less personal conversations and more food prep. Didn't get a pickle or mints, either. Is the food shortages affecting these restaurants? I think I'm done eating out. R and I hadn't been here in a while, so we decided to get sandwiches from Jason's Deli. Parking was very easy to find since there's a large free parking lot right in front of the store. When we walked into the restaurant, I noticed that indoor dining was allowed and their salad bar is in use. I noticed all employees wore face masks and gloves, and all of the customers (there were only 9 customers that I noticed during the entire time we were there) also wore face masks. Signage on the floor instructed customers where to stand in order to social distance. Hand sanitizer was available. More than half of the tables inside were closed off to seating. A nice employee at the cash register greeted us and quickly and efficiently took our orders. I ordered a Manager's Special - a half Santa Fe chicken sandwich, a cup of spicy seafood gumbo and a bag of salt and vinegar potato chips. We waited about 15 minutes for our dinner to be brought to our table by one of the employees. The Santa Fe chicken sandwich had good flavors, with grilled chicken breast meat that wasn't dry, guacamole, a hint of melted Swiss cheese, crispy bacon, tomato, and 1000 Island dressing in toasted wheat bread. The spicy seafood gumbo was a salty soup with lots of chunks of sausage and one shrimp. R went up to get a free ice cream cone - just the cone - from one of the food prep employees, but, when he tried to operate the ice cream dispenser (vanilla, chocolate and/or swirl ice cream flavors), he found out that the dispenser was broken and told the employees, who couldn't get it to work. Well, when the ice cream dispenser is working, customers can get free ice cream cones and pile on the ice cream from the self-serve ice cream dispenser onto their cones. First time here. Got 2 salads thinking I was going to be super hungry after walking 5.5 miles at nearby Brook run Park only for me to waste one completely. It was $9.99 a piece before tax. Next time I'll only have 1 because it was more than enough. Service wasn't an issue because it's a salad bar and you make your own salad. Additionally, I always request to add onions, jalapeños topped with shredded cheese... um um good! I was able to order from the Take-Out line and literally only waited less than 10 minutes for my meal then was on my way back to the office. I know that Jason's is known primarily for the sandwiches, but I go to this location for the salad bar. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, but for speed Jason's is as fast if not faster than fast food (which I mostly deplore). The trick is to go to the self-checkout for soup/salad that's near the end of the regular sandwich ordering line. I think the longest I've had to wait was with one person ahead of me. You basically follow an easy-to-use touch screen menu to make your selection(s) then pay with a credit or debit card - it's that easy. The hardest thing about the whole process - understanding that the stripe on your card needs to face-up instead of face-down when swiping. The salad bar itself, while not as long/large as Sweet Tomatoes (which I'll forever use as a comparison - eat there some time and you'll understand why) but still chocked full of most of what you might want. I usually load up and throw a couple of hardboiled eggs for protein and use the balsamic vinegar dressing. They also have these small muffins that are delicious (the dark ones, don't know what's in them but they have a cinnamon/nutmeg flavor). There's also free chocolate, vanilla or swirl soft-serve when you're done with the salad. I'm talking a 30 minute lunch here, folks, giving you plenty of time to go to the US Post Office next door. read more

Today was my 2nd time visiting this location and they are good. On the first visit I had the roasted turkey sandwich, seafood gumbo and a bag of chips. For today's visit I had a baked potato ( plain jane). Both were very good and the potato was huge. It came with bacon bits, sour cream, butter and green onions. Straightforward. Clean. Lots of variety. And quick. This Jason's can get crowded during the lunch hour for good reason: the food is a known quantity, and it's good. Plus, the salad bar is a good way to get some good roughage quickly. AND if you've been good and had your veggies, you can get some free ice cream. (Everyone gets free ice cream with their purchase.) This place is a lot more quiet in the evenings. Jason's allows groups to come in certain nights a week. (Like the gaming folks who come in Monday evenings.) My normal order is the managers special (half sandwich w/ salad bar). The sandwich I usually go with is the pepper jack panini or the beef eater. I understand it's a buffet like place, but they need to hold their horses on the butter. However, they had awesome green peppers. They were fresh & very nicely juiced. I had like 6. The pastrami was cold, instead of lying it flat, they "poofed" it up, as to appear like there is more meat on the bread then there actually is and the swiss cheese wasn't melted (then why did they ask me if I wanted it melted or not?) The pickle was limp (insert your own joke here) and not the stiff kind - makes me think that it may have been laying around. This great pickle catastrophe kinda ruined my love for pickles. I'm sad. Jason's Deli failed to check the order so I failed to receive what I ordered. What happens in these situations is you get a refund. The problem is if I wanted the money then I would not have ordered it. I want what I ordered and not a refund. I come here on occasion for lunch. I always order the same thing, the nutty mixed up salad without grapes. As far as customer service, I'm always greeted when I walk in. I usually order over the phone and my order is always ready when I walk in. The cashiers are always very nice when checking me out. I have had some issues with my order though. There have a been a few instances where I would still find grapes in my salad although I always request none. I am not allergic but if I was, then there would be a problem. Also there was one instance when I found a fruit fly in my salad. This makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the location. We tried Jason's for the first time this week and went back for the following two consecutive days. Can't help it! I am so impressed. The menu has so many options- both classical and unique. Jason's has won multiple awards, several for healthy options (organic and vegetarian are specified on the menu). The restaurant itself is laid out nicely, has a cozy atmosphere, and is very clean. There is a large salad bar with the freshest options, even in the late afternoon when customers have died down. I have also been very impressed by the staff; they have each been very warm and pleasant. Plus- free soft serve. You can't beat this place!
