I never wanted to come here because of all the negative comments my coworkers make, and I wish I would have listened. I have given them 3 chances and every time it's a different issues. The first time the manager did offer me a drink but I don't want free things I want my order to be correct and for it to be ready when I'm told it is going to be ready not 20-30 min after it was supposed to be ready. The first time I went in 15 min after I ordered like I was told, I waited for 5 minutes and then I asked for my order again. It turns out it was not ready and I had to wait more time. I wasted 30-40 minutes of my lunch break waiting for my food. The second time I went the food was made wrong, whatever I ate it because I did not want to waste my lunch break again. The third and final time I went in and someone had ordered the food for me, they forgot to pay but they tried calling three different times and every time the cashier, kathia, kept hanging up on them. She did not know that I knew the person who she was on the phone with. She was giving him smart remarks and was not trying to help the situation. She was also making rude faces to him and rolling her eyes. She eventually called her manager and my friend was able to pay. So when I go up to the counter she reads the order back to me and I tell her that was not what I ordered. She rolls her eyes again, gets her manager and begins telling her manager about the "guy who kept calling" and the manager rolls her eyes too. By this point I'm upset and annoyed because I do not appreciate that type of attitude toward customers. The person who ordered the food for me calls back and confirms that they had my order wrong and the cashier was giving me someone else's food. If they can't be helpful and do it with a smile then they need to find a different job. read more

Food was usually good. Its also easy convenient and cheap.... But the food quality gets worse every time I have been. great spot. not at all what i expected it to look like on the inside. i thought that jason's deli was a mom and pop type place, had no idea that it was a chain. great selection of sandwiches/salads/pastas to choose from. came here at peak lunch hour with a friend and there were still plenty of places to sit. the line moved quickly. there is even a separate place to order if you want food to-go. service was quick. i ordered the ranchero chicken wrap with a side of fruit. the dip they serve with the fruit is ridiculously good. all in all a meal that really hit the spot plus they have soft serve ice cream for dessert! =) read more

considering the parking situation and size of the place, its a convenient choice. nothing special as far as the food though...sandwiches, pannini's, soups, like panera. one bonus is the self-serve frozen yogurt, i guess thats actually pretty cool. read more

Good sandwiches but if you're the only one that's hungry and want something delivered you have to either order extra food or call somewhere else. They have a $20 minimum order for delivery. Sounds stupid considering they are always busy and in the South Loop. I would think volume alone would be a good reason to deliver. read more

i love love love jasons deli! to start off they have amazing food at a reasonable price. the salad bar is to die for, and yes i do miss restaurants like sizzler where you can have a free ice cream cone at the end of your meal ;) I have a sweet spot for southern bbq, and although this is not a southern bbq restaurant they do have my favorite indulgence.... a texas style spud!!!! bbq... cheese... butter... sour cream... loaded over a huge baked potato! omg reminds me of high school in the south.... mmmmm oh jasons deli how i love you i just wish you werent so sketchy with your delivery... 25 dollar minimum and 5 dollar delivery charge... jeeze all this talk of recession that makes me dizzy! management was very kind, and i even stirred up a convo with the gm after he politely asked me how everything was.. The restaurant is a little expensive for what you get, but its a solid experience otherwise. I love the salad bar.

I had yami's miami panini or something and its not on the menu but it was on special so only 5 bucks for the sandwich, chips, and pickle which i think is definitely a good deal! everything looked delicious and it was very clean, even the salad bar which i think is a big deal...the staff were all very helpful and patient and got our orders correct even though we made substitutions...the menu is huge, so many options, can't wait to go back! read more

Holy pastrami batman!! Not quite as good as authentic ny deli, but the closest thing I've had to a giant hot delicious NYC-style pastrami sandwich in Chicago. I'm so IRRATE with this place...or the ONLINE ORDERING SYSTEM REALLY. I place an order at 2 pm , entered my CC information and all hit submit and think I have food coming since I hit the SUBMIT ORDER button...My coworker calls to add on since it was a group order and THEY NEVER GOT MY ORDER, BUT MY CC CARD WAS CHARGED TWICE!!! and then they say We couldn't have charged your card since we have NO ORDER...as if IM CRAZY...it was charged TWICE on my account I was looking at my bank account online...LIke I want to scam a measly lunch! PLEASE....I call the online order support line (which at this point im TRULY PISSED because I feel this is all TOO MUCH to order food for lunch...call an OLINE SUPPORT SYSTEM!?!?) SO i CALL...they say the same thing and make it seem like IM CRAZY...SINCE NOTHING WAS CHARGE...the lady asks me for a print out of my bank statement showing they charged....I find that TRULY INVASIVE...BUT i did it anyways...she says she will call me right back...1 hour later NO CALL!! My coworkers order comes in AND NOT MINE....I HAVE TO CALL BACK....and explain ALL OVER since it was a new customer support service person, I HATE REPEATING MYSELF, and they say they cant explain what happened but will charge my card back with the money!! Jason's Deli did not satisfy me. Upon walking in, the cash register broke down twice resulting in a long delay. I ordered a chicken pesto panini and French onion soup. When my sandwich arrived it was cold, which defeats the purpose of ordering a hot panini. Also, I could barely taste the pesto, so I opened the sandwich to look for it, and saw that it was put on so thinly that I could barely notice it on the bread. The sandwich was not worth the $7.49 it cost. The French onion soup was also disappointing. It cost $3.79 and was also not worth it. The cheese melted over it was not very yummy, and the soup itself was so bland! I've never had a bad French onion soup, but this was. I learned it is not made like traditional French onion, but it's made with a vegetable broth. There were also hardly any onions in it. It just didn't taste quite like French onion soup. Now, I must say the salad bar looks great. The menu offers an all you can eat salad bar for $7.59. My friend had it and all I could do was stare at his food with envy. If you go here the only thing worthwhile is the salad bar. Also, a bonus is the free soft serve ice cream. read more

we have frequented Jason's since it opened at this location. Hits and misses. the problem is employee and manager turnover. When they have a good manager on duty things go well. When no one is running the restaurant there is no consistency. I have often watched new product placed on top of old product at the buffet which is not following the "first in first out" sanitation principle they should be following. We were there the other evening for a late evening meal and they were breaking down the salad bar because it was closing time. One of the employees was using her hands to clear and store the salad buffet items, TOUCHING ALL THE FOOD WITHOUT PLASTIC GLOVES! I actually got up and shouted "you cannot do that. You need gloves!!" One of the other employees told her to stop and throw out the lettuce but she was throwing out the bag of lettuce all of which had probably not been touched but ok throw that out too. What she had touched went into the bins for service! So I asked for the manager and he came out and said that the lettuce would be thrown out. I asked why this is going on anyway and he said she was new and was being trained. Being trained by who?? What standards? This should have been an easy one. Do not touch the food with bare hands!!! They have no current training program - that is obvious from the other night! We have had a love hate relationship since Jason's Deli's opening. We love the concept of fresh food but it always comes at a price - not the right ingredients in the preparation of the menu items, turned product, and now blatant disregard for sanitation standards. We will not be going back. This manager was not competent and I doubt he had a sanitation license. I regret that I didn't ask if he or someone on site had a license which is required by law. My daughter and her friend told me about Jason's Deli. I shop at Target, Whole Foods and Best Buy a lot and since I work in Law enforcement, I am always at the Chicago Discount Uniform store. After all that shopping, I usually get hungry but can.t make up my mind what to eat. Well I decided to try Jason's after they kept telling me how good it was. Now, I can't stop going in there. I have to be honest and tell you guys that I have not tried a lot of things in the deli, but the salad to go is what I get all the time. I love all of those veggies, salad dressings, eggs, different types of lettuce and when I make my salad, I really make it. My children love it when I come home with this salad because they have these little corn muffins and ginger muffins that I get a lot of to put in the bag. Then they have graham crackers that I also get and put in the bag. They give you a cup for extra sauce for the salad, a cup for that wonderful ice cream and by the time I get home, its just a wonderful treat to eat. I would recommend them to anybody who shops on Roosevelt Rd and gets hungry but can.t make up their minds what to have. Jason's is it. read more

I first came to Jason's several months back when I was looking for a new place to try for lunch. I've been coming back almost once a week since then and think it's a great place. Food is always good. Restaurant and restrooms are always clean. Employees are friendly. It isn't the cheapest place, but I think the food is better than other similar restaurants, so I can accept the prices. read more

They have improved to the point that I'm giving them 5 stars. I've completed their feedback surveys (online) and mentioned the soups were too salty. The soups that I've tried are now better. I usually go with half sandwich and soup specials or the pasta dishes then supplement with the free ice cream. I like that the tables and floors are keep clean. read more

I ordered a Reuben sandwich today and was very disappointed in it. There was way too much corned beef that was fatty, the sauerkraut had no taste and very little thousand island dressing and very little swiss cheese. I asked for extra thousand island dressing which they gave me but it was not up to my expectations at all. They would do better to go less on the fatty corned beef and put a more seasoned sauerkraut and the swiss cheese wasn't strong enough and the thousand island was not very special at all. It was an impossible sandwich to eat with my hands. I am a Reuben lover and was very unhappy with this and the price I paid. Adler's has a wonderful Reuben that has lean corned beef, the right amount of cheese, toasted rye bread and a great thousand island dressing. read more
