I was craving a good salad and stopped in here for a quick lunch. I've always loved Jason's Deli salad bar for its freshness, variety of toppings and presentation. This visit was a bit disappointing. The lettuces were wilted and soggy from the water it was swimming in (I wouldn't have dare left that batch of spinach out like that), the actual salad bar was quite messy and there were remnants of food, including an egg in some of the dressings. I almost decided to skip out and go elsewhere, but I realized I didn't have much time left for lunch and decided to make the best of it. I spent several minutes wiping my Romaine and Spring Mix dry from excess water, before adding any toppings. So disappointed. read more

For what it is--an elevated but still fast sandwich shop--Jason's Deli delivers. It was relatively hopping even at 11am, but the staff were super nice and got us on our way with takeout quickly. I can't comment on the other orders (though they were eaten fast and completely), but my club sandwich was great. Piled high, fresh ingredients, and I liked the pickle--I'm a bit of a pickle snob. There are multiple options for sides, but chips were dandy for me. I snuck a bit of the gumbo and it was also tasty enough. We got our food to go, but the in-house salad bar was a popular choice by most. It was well kept, ingredients looked fresh and inviting, and I'd try it next time. Earlier reviews have complaints that seemed (to me) to have been corrected--it was a clean store (though I didn't visit the restroom), the staff were on point, and we had no complaints. Of note: I could see how parking could become a nightmare during prime hours due to the layout of the shopping center, but that isn't the restaurant's fault. read more

Usually when I get Jason's deli I'm in the area but I decided to DoorDash tonight. I always get the club sandwich but i wanted to try something new this time, I ended up getting the NY Yankee. Let's just say it's exactly how it's pictured with a mountain of meat! Also it was pretty tasty. As I'm eating I see the meat has a marble tint too it which I'm not sure why but I don't think it's supposed to look that way? Please correct me if I'm wrong! Seeing the color of the meat kinda killed my appetite. I also got the strawberry shortcake and it was DELICIOUS!! I highly recommend you try that it won't disappoint. A sad ending to what was a decent relationship. What was once a well kept, inexpensive, great eatery. But since they closed down in South Huntsville, o e has to travel all the way to north..45 minutes. BEWARE MY FAMILY GOT SERIOUSLY ILL!!! Read on... Your employees do NOT wash their hands before putting on gloves then scratching his hair WITH gloves on, scraping something off the prep counter, then touching his face, put his hands I. His pockets & proceed to prepare someone's FOOD!! What?! We ordered a big chef, caprese original & one with chicken., and soup. Order was wrong so I took it back for it remade and tried to trust it. Get home to feed my family we dive into our sandwiches and immediately my child's throat begins to hurt. Two minutes later my other fam's felt something growing on the inside of his cheek. My throat started hurting and I also had bacterial growth in my mouth, throat pain, seven minutes later, we had fevers & were very nauseous. Visit to our physician and GUESS WHAT, we all had bacterial infections, and fungal growths after eating Jason's food. SERIOUS ALERT!!! And yes it came from the food!!!! $40 down the drain. We are traumatized and how do you ever trust again. The store is filthy & I've complained about that . High employee turnover. No one checking order accuracy. This is the worse I've ever seen the deli. It can't be meeting Health Department standards & YES, we will be reporting them and seeking legal advice. The food containers were filthy, people were putting their bare hands in the salad bar, YUCK! Even if you're just getting croutons USE ETIQUETTE. The lettuce was brown, blue & wilted. For our safety, we cannot go back until the health department does what it needs to AND the owners to clean this place up. Build a newer, bigger, better JD in South Huntsville. This is sad. Terrible experience. I ordered two kids meals and a lighter penne portion of penne with meatballs with no cheese. Trying to make this order with the clerk with difficult as I guess it was her first week. She had to get the manager to come and finish ringing up the order. When my food came out I immediately told the lady she brought me the kids portion of the penne with MB and not the lighter version as ordered. She then preceded to argue with me how I was wrong and how the lighter portion and the kids meal are the same size portions - which I've been here many times and never received such a small plate. Ultimately - it was just highly disrespectful to have the lady argue with me and tell me how I was wrong when I sitting here in front of my two kids. Just extremely classless and unprofessional and I'll never be back. And if it is as the lady is saying that the lighter version of penne meatballs is the same size as that of the kids - then why are you charging $11.19 for the lighter portion vs $4.99 for the kids which includes a drink. Imagine my surprise and frustration to find them occupying a handicapped(the last available one at the time) parking space to load the trunk of a vehicle with a catering order. I call the number on the sign, the guy says can I put you on hold I'm assisting another guest. Our order was wrong and the Bakery box we received was a joke. For $ 52 dollars we got 8 bite size muffins, 4 Croisants plain, 1 small coffee muffin cut in two ,6 apple Danish and everything was old and stale. The order was for $317.60 they offered us a 10 percent discount which I haven't received. We were very generous and gave them a $45 tip upon ordering online. Had we known what we were getting that would not have been the case. As a company we have used them many times, but unfortunately, we will not use them in the future. The reason giving to us about the Quality and Quantity of the Bakery Box was they are sorry but corporate decides what goes in the boxes. This Jason's Deli is on par with any other. The staff is friendly and the food is pretty fresh. My go-to is the 1 time trip to the salad bar. You can get a good sized portion and they also have mini dessert plates at the bar if you want to put items on the side or not mix any flavors you would prefer not to. Also, unlike McDonald's, the ice cream has been working here every time I've been. This place is always packed around noon on Sundays though. read more

We ordered Jason's Deli for pickup through Uber Eats. The first problem was that the site did not allow for customizing the sandwiches. There was a make your own option but I wanted one of the menu specialty sandwiches. We ordered the Premium Manager's special ($10.67) . A cup of soup, half of a sandwich from a set selection and an additional side. Oddly, the basic Manager's Special was the same price as the premium. Also, this item doesn't show up on the Jason's online ordering menu - only on Uber Eats. Depending on your choices, it is a pretty good deal. My choices consisted of a California club, tomato soup and a fruit cup. The first mistake on my sandwich was in my favor - I received a whole sandwich, not a half. The croissant was buttery and flaky just like it was supposed to be. There was a moderate amount of turkey although I needed to take the sandwich apart and spread it out but that's ok, I had to take the sandwich apart anyway to remove the cheese that I wasn't able to customize. The second mistake was definitely not in my favor. I love guacamole and that was the selling point of the sandwich for me. Unfortunately, this sandwich didn't live up to its promise. There was literally a spec of guacamole. I'm being totally real here - A SPEC. The sandwich really had potential, it just didn't live up to it. I had the tomato basil soup. The soup had large chunks of tomato in a creamy base. It was topped with cheese that in this case was a giant lump in the middle of the cup. I ended up removing this meatball size lump so I could actually eat the soup. Some crusty croutons on top would have really taken this to another level. I rounded out my special with fruit. The fruit salad was tiny - 5 grapes, a teeny slice of apple, two pineapple chunks and 1 strawberry. It was pretty pitiful. My husband had the turkey wrap. He said it was better when he added my discarded cheese. (Cheese seems to be a theme tonight!) He had the spicy seafood gumbo that lived up to its spicy name. He finished his meal with a small cup of pasta salad. It was supposed to have broccoli and other veggies but only had rotini and olives. Pretty basic and not his fave. Jason's needs to change its name from "Deli" to sandwich shop - this was definitely not the type of food served in a real deli. read more

While the service was excellent, the quality of the chicken pot pie soup was less than desirable. I have loved this particular soup for over a decade. It has always had a thick, creamy base and was flavorful, however, this time it was very watery and bland. Did y'all change the recipe or did someone forget an ingredient? This review is for the catered box lunches that Jason's provides for my work and has for the last 7 years. They are really good ya'll. I'm not a big sandwich person - their sandwiches are good. Whoever is in charge of ordering this goodness gets, if I recall correctly ham, turkey and tuna salad sandwiches, there may be a roast beef option - which arrive neatly boxed with all condiments, a pickle and a cookie. I usually select the turkey eliminate half the bread, and chow out, and take the cookie home to the husband. These delicious boxed lunches really make a boring quarterly training session scoot by a little faster, and much more joyfully. We have been in Alabama for a week yet I've eaten at Jason's twice & look forward to our next visit. It is safe to say this will be one of my favorite restaurants. It is very spacious & offers plenty of seating for small to very large groups. Upon entering I was greeted by friendly staff members. I love that they have a separate cash register for takeout orders. The variety on their menu will assure that everyone finds something to their liking, even our Vegan family members. The salad bar is amazing! One of the best I have ever seen & tasted. Even their drink selection is vast. I hope to try something new next time but the Ruben sandwich & Seafood Gumbo is so delicious, it will be hard to order something different. But I will try! read more

There was a time when this was one of the best places for a good salad in Huntsville, but if today' showing is any witness to their fall from glory, that time has ended. Hearing staff shout over a crowded restaurant about finding each other in the restroom is bad enough, it is crass and uncouth. The show didn't end there, they bussed my table while I was getting another salad and then it took 3 of them to figure out that was a problem and that they needed to fix it. They needed help realizing I might not just want another fork and glass but might actually want to sit down too, shocking. They also have broken equipment, including the water from the drink machine. Disappointing. Based on other Yelp reviews, I expected a better experience, but we were letdown. Stopped in the other night on the way home from work. Did a take-out order consisting of 2 small soups (Fire Roasted Tortilla & Broccoli Cheese), a Chicken Club Salad (original size), a piece of Pumpkin spice cake and a walnut-cranberry cookie. Went just a bit over $20 total. Ate the cookie on the ride home. Soft, lacked flavor. When I got home, took everything out of the take-out bag. First thing we noticed was that the Pumpkin spice cake was wafer thin, for $3.29, it seriously lacked value. It actually fell apart when we picked the container up so I decided to bring it back for a refund the next day. Soups were decent tasting. My fiancee liked the chicken on her salad, said it was very good. But some of the lettuce had brown edges. Also, I feel the salad was not worth $8.29. So I returned the Pumpkin spice cake the next day for a refund (see my pic). Needless to say, we won't be back to Jason's Deli in the future. Had been to Jason's Deli in Vegas several times and took friends who visited me there. Never a bad sandwich or salad bar. I decided to try the Jason's Deli in Huntsville and ordered my usual the Muffaletta sandwich. I was so disappointed in it when it arrived. Hardly any meat and not much olive mixture. It look so disappointing and I just ate the salad bar and took the sandwich home. I wont be back for the Muffaletta again. As an Uber and doordash driver it's very appreciated whenever the team is able to take care of you and get food out faster so you can deliver it quicker. It has been a while since my last review on Jason's Deli. It is still good and delicious. There are so many items on the menu, so I have decided to write an update and recommend some of their specialties. ***Salad*** 1. Salad Bar. I believe it is $8 for unlimited salad. Layer the cucumbers, bell peppers, artichokes hearts, bacon bits, feta cheese on top of the greens, top it off with the Cranberry/walnut/sun flower seeds mix, and drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette or the french dressing. Get the amazing tuna pasta salad on side. Finish with the banana pudding or the chocolate musse. 2. Nutty-Mix salad. It's an organic spinach based salad, with feta cheese and grapes and nuts, finished with balsamic vinaigrette. It's amazing. **Sandwiches*** 1. Rueben the great is amazing. Every rueben that I ever get from this place, all looked magazine-grade, ready for its photo shoot. 2. Muffuletta (see picture) Don't let the funny name fool you. If you are an olive lover, you are in for treat. It is a giant loaf of sesame bread with layers of black/green olives, cheese, and ham. A whole Muffuletta is about the size of my face, so, a "quarter" is typically enough for a meal, or "half", if you are hungry. **Potatos*** Plain Jane Potato is hearty, but if you want something different, try their Pollo Mexicano Potato is cheesy and flavorful ***Light*** Don't sacrifice the flavor just because you want to eat light. Try their Savvy Chicken Salad Wrap. It's unique-- fresh and have a very clean tast to it. Get the fruits on the side. ***Soup*** You can't go wrong with their spicy tortilla soup, unless, of course you don't like spicy food. ***Portion Control Option*** 1. Sandwich & Side Salad Bar. Their meals are usually pretty big. Since I have to do portion control, I usually order a half sandwich with a side salad, and ask them to put the half sandwich as "to go", and I'll enjoy the half salad in the restaurant. The half salad means they give you a smaller plate for the salad bar, and no refills. But the plate is still big enough (prob around 8 to 10 inches in diameter) and should easily fill you up. 2. Salad bar to go. Even eating in the restaurant, I would get this option. This allows me to fill the to-go container they gave me with all the goodies from the salad bar,. The container is pretty big, so you can really pack a lot of things in it. Then, eat it in the restaurant. Since it's already in a to-go container, you won't feel you are obligated to shove it all down. Just pack it, take it with you, and enjoy it later. read more

They were in the middle of filling two lunchbox orders (0ne for a group of 50, and another for a group of 60) all while serving regular patrons, walk-ins, and being short-staffed. They never lost their composure and they kept the patrons waiting up-to-date on the status of their orders. The Team at the take-out register are to be commended for the services provided.
