I always pass this place and never visit and I finally decided to! For the most part the food was good! The grilled cheese for the kids was great, my chicken avocado sandwich was different but delicious! I think the soup is what pushed it over for me, I ordered the Irish potato soup and afterwards felt very sick. Hoping it was just the amount of soup it was and not the actually soup. The establishment was kept nice and tidy and there is plenty of seating! I did notice their salad bar was very low of supplies though! I always ordered online for to-gos but today, I wanted to actually check out their establishment and dine in and eat. This place is spacious, clean, and friendly staff. I don't know why I have never had a chance to dine in but it was a great experience with my sister from another mister. She wanted to eat here and I'm glad we did. They had a salad bar for 10.99 and it wasn't bad. Salad was full and fresh. They even had muffins with it. I ordered a Chicken Avocado Panini with chips and salsa. So good. My husband and I love going to Jason's deli in the Northland of Kansas City. The place is always clean, the sandwiches are delicious and generous, and my husband almost always gets the salad bar, which he loves. Everyone that works there are also very pleasant. The only reason I'm giving them a four instead of five, is that recently, when I went there, I was not able to get their salad or sandwiches because I had a dental issue, so I had to order soup and I was not a fan of their chicken noodle soup. I will not be ordering that again. But to be fair, there was nothing really wrong with it, it just wasn't very good.. My advice is to eat a wonderful sandwich, or the salad bar. We nabbed pickup and I can't say I've ever loved a chicken salad sandwich more. I love raisins and grapes, but they've replaced them with pineapple and the nuts are not soggy, they pack the perfect crunch. The croissant isn't French-inspired at all, but it is flaky and layered and it does maintain its dignity throughout feeding time. The woman who brought us our food was delightful. She was unfortunately dealing with a difficult customer who seemed to be hitting on her, so our curbside order was mutually beneficial. Just a quick 'shout out' here. I've been a customer of JD's for years and STILL really enjoy their delicious, meaty sandwiches. They are so huge it's enough for 2-3 meals. Multiple times she dropped what she was doing to go over and walk her employees through with whatever task they had at hand. I overheard her speaking Spanish with her Hispanic employees. Honestly I was disappointed. I am a fan of Jason's but have noticed as they build more and spread out further they seem to loose who they are. The food is ok, but not great. This one had no ice cream machine which I thought they all had, no big deal. The food I ordered was not bad, just okay. The soda I had (diet Dr. Pepper first, then Coke Zero) did not taste like it was supposed to (which is why I relied both) and was fact. I guess I'd go back because its really hard to find decent corned beef or pastrami in rural MO but it's not what I except not what made them famous and grow so fast. A perfectly healthy meal covered in calories. They also have a lot more veggies, pre made salads (coleslaw, pasta salad...), hummus, fruit, pudding, little muffins.... The best salad bar in KC and it's only $7.99. What a steal. Their sandwiches are also great; at least the 2 I've eaten - the New York Yankee and the Muffuletta. Years have passed since my last Jason's Deli trip and today made me realize how much of a fool I've been. I want to start by complimenting the cleanliness, great staff and execution in keeping things in order, non-congested, and timely. My last clear memory of JD was years and years ago in Chesapeake, VA with my grandfather, enjoying a Rueben sandwich together. History tends to repeat itself, so I ordered the Rueben and it brought me right back. Although it's hard to mess up a Rueben, it's difficult to make one stick out. I still go here since I work near by. I love to get salad bar to go so I can pick whatever I want and be in and out. Sometimes I get the potato soup to go. A bowl actually fills me up for lunch. It's really good!! Sometimes the to go area is busy and you might wait a bit. I don't have to wait long for soup since it's like already made, but sometimes I have to wait longer than I should. I have always enjoyed my visit to this restaurant. The food is great. Excellent value for the money. But today, I had a server trying to touch my bread with bare hands! They handed me, the customer, gloves to self serve salad bar. But, the staff didn't have gloves on. I pointed out to her that she was about to handle my food without gloves, she did not like this.
