I've driven by at night and always packed with the younger crowd and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't over crowded and the view of the screen was never obstructed. I'll be going back to watch further matches. The crew is friendly and helpful. Water glass was kept full encouraging you to stay hydrated. They have a lot of beers on tap, nice assortment of food, spacious. Clean bathrooms which is important! There is another bar downstairs, it small and rectangular with an open ceiling so if you're upstairs you can look into. They've added planters on the beams which adds to the ambience. As a pastrami enthusiast and Katz Deli acolyte, I was not expecting much here. However with its thinly sliced hot pastrami over rye, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of flavor and fantastic texture. My only qualm was the strength of the mustard. I'd ask for them to go light next time. I also wasn't a big fan of the very popular pasta salad. A little sour and not particularly to my taste. I'd probably go slaw if I were to return. YUM YUM YUM!!! This place is super good! I had the pastrami on rye, it was packed with flavor and the bread was so soft! The cheese pull on it was beautiful! I also had a tripe chocolate cookie which was soft and huge! It is connected to the bar and you can take your food to the bar side as well! Street parking, but plenty of it! Great sandwiches here, one of the very best deli's in the KC area. Love their Pastrami or Corned Beef, simply fantastic. Have to order at the counter in the restaurant part but adjacent is a very good bar. There your bartender can order while you sit at the bar. This is by far my favorite bar in the city. I am always guaranteed to have a good time and a good drink. The service is quick and I love that they have people walking throughout the bar taking orders. Stopped in for a pastrami sandwich. King G was recommended to have the best pastrami in town. I ordered the Pastrami and Swiss on rye. Carnegie style, a bag of chips and a can of pop. I received a heavy sandwich wrapped in white deli paper. By the time I sat down the grease was beginning to seep through the paper. #1. So much grease that my arms had it dripping down to my elbows. Seriously! #2.The rye bread fell apart and was soggy by the time I got to the second 1/2. Thinly sliced pastrami with good flavor. A bit tough and very fatty. Paid the extra 3$ for Carnegie style and my sandwich literally ounce for ounce was the same as my coworkers and he didn't pay the extra. It was my first time and likely my last time. My favorite part of King G is when the bar opens its garage door windows on a nice day. Nothing beats a flash of outside air during Kansas City's best days. The upstairs ground level is a welcome space. You can belly up to the bar or find seats at some of the island tables, but you can also walk around without issues, even when it's busy. The bar on the downstairs level is a little more exclusive, which is fine. I think it adds to the mystique. The drink menu includes a solid list of cocktail options paired with some of the best local beers. Food from the attached deli is better than good. read more

Cool spot in a nicely renovated area of downtown KC. Service was solid, but a tad on the slower side for a Delhi sandwich. I guess you can appreciate that everything is being made fresh. Flavors were good, and bread was spectacular. I had the Italian which was very good and I especially liked the picked red peppers they put on the sandwhich. Really spiced things up and make it have some kick. I thought the cost was pretty high for what you got. $14 for sandwhich no chips and drink seems steep to me. This would be my number one recommendation if someone wanted a spot to go hang with some friends. Cool, but not too cool for those in their mid-30's. It's located on a corner just north east of Grinders and it has a very chill atmosphere. We sat at the bar and all the bartenders were super nice and very knowledgeable. She made me a very tasty sour cocktail and I forgot the name, but she made the best Long Island Tea I have had in years. The volume level was perfect and we could carry on conversations though there were other groups and overhead music. What a cool bar! I came here to catch up with some old friends during a hot summer happy hour. We sat in the bar area but I noticed that this bar has some really cool areas to hang out spread out over two levels. The thing that stood out to me the most was the beer menu. It wasn't massive, but it was well thought out and had some unique local offerings that you just don't see on tap everywhere. Literally the only place outside of City Barrel where I've seen Rad AF Creamsicle on tap - obviously I had to get one more since to my knowledge this beer has been sold out all over the metro for weeks now. One of my friends raved about the sandwiches here and got one while we hung out. This place has a totally different feel on the inside, then it does to the outside! The outside is painted and looks edgy, but the inside js very industrial and modern. My friend and I came for drinks, and unfortunately we were disappointed. We love to have a yummy cocktail, and we usually lean to the sweeter side for drinks. I finally stopped by to grab a Togo sandwich before a concert and I was not disappointed. I tried the corned beef on rye and it was delicious. The bread was soft, there was plenty of corned beef, melty Swiss, and tangy mustard. I was so sad when a previous deli went out of business but I'm happy that I've found a new favorite deli.
