Finally we have one in Lexington. My main love is the salad bar. With no options in Lexington for any type of salad bar it's good to have one now. It's is newly opened so I expect some hiccups, but the employee were nice and We were asked several times if we could helped as we were try me to figure out what we wanted to order. I ordered the Reuben and it was good, could use slightly more thousand island but was still a great sandwich. The salad bar was fresh and full. The mini muffins are free to eat and the ice cream is free with every meal. The baked potatoes are huge and a great option. I did notice a burger on the menu. I may try that next time. read more

This was our first experience at Jason's Deli. We were greeted with a welcoming smile and everyone was eager to answer questions we all had (5 of us). The menu is loaded with options and the kids menu has a great selection as well. They also have a gluten sensitive menu (color me happy!). The salad bar is a nice option as well. We were checked on by several different staff members making sure all was well & was happy to get us anything if we needed it. My husband and I went in to Jason's Deli for lunch and I have to say it did NOT disappoint. If their customer service stays half as good as it was today they'll be successful. Being that it's new we were greeted by a very friendly woman who explained the menu and encouraged us to scope everything out (including the salad bar) prior to ordering. She named a few of her favorite things and gave us menus to look at. We placed our order with possibly the most pleasant woman I have ever encountered at a restaurant. We asked her opinion on a few things and her recommendations were spot on. I tried the side salad bar and a build your own sandwich. My husband tried the Meataballa sandwich with broccoli cheddar soup. Everything was amazing. Our food was brought out to us very quickly, despite them being super busy. We were checked on a couple times to make sure we were happy with everything and everything came out right. One of my favorite things was their epic salad bar. It's clean and well stocked. They have someone staffed there to answer questions and keep it neat and tidy. At the salad bar they have some of the best potato salad I think I've ever had. I've been to a few restaurants in Lexington during their opening week and have been disappointed to say the least, but this crew knocked it out of the park! I am so happy we finally have Jason's Deli in Lexington!! I ate at one in Louisville years ago and have been waiting for the one to open here since they put up the coming soon sign more than a year ago. This is one of our regular dining stops now! This place has a GREAT salad bar. Sadly, Salad bars are just not common in this town anymore. You can order a chicken breast or salmon to add to your salad but be advised they are served cold. This was a surprise to us as we expected it to be warm. You can get a one-trip salad bar or unlimited and you can pair it with soup or a sandwich (full or half). I always get the unlimited salad bar. They have lots of different topping options and many unique dressing options. If you are calorie conscious, you can ask for one of their light dressings and they will bring it out to you. The pumpkin muffins and sweet cornbread muffins are really tasty but the calories add up quick on those. Oh and there is a soft-serve ice cream machine with chocolate, vanilla, or swirl options that's free when you dine there. read more

I havent been to one of these since AZ. This one was next to the Spectrum store so it was convenient to my mission today. I had the quarter muffaletta and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup. My friend had the Shelly's chicken salad which features almonds and pineapple. Both were served quickly and were very filling and tasty. They came with chips but there are other side choices. One nice feature is the free ice cream(creamie) but the machine was out of order so they substituted cookies today. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again if in the area. read more

The best thing here is the broccoli soup. Hands down, best broccoli soup in town. That said, the broccoli soup is the reason for didn't give Jason's two stars. I want so badly to like this place, I really do, but they are so inconsistent that it's hard. Some days everything is great...other days (like today), not so much. The staff is often not overly friendly, and act as if it's a bother to help you. When we visited today, it was a slow day...there were only three tables, including us. But rather than clean or check on the customers they did have, the staff just stood around talking to each other. One lady was cleaning the sandwich station, but no one else was doing anything. Meanwhile, there were dirty plates on at least three tables, they were out of a number of salad bar items, and the floor badly needed swept. They used to at least bring the food to you, but they don't even do that anymore. A customer finally asked about something on the salad bar and the woman who brought it out was not wearing gloves. It seemed very unsanitary. The food is decent, if not a bit overpriced. The free ice cream tastes odd...as if it doesn't have milk in it. But, my boyfriend witnessed a teenager making a float and we have decided that's the best way to have the ice cream. We tired Jason's Deli for the first time a couple of days ago and were very impressed with the sandwiches. The Reuben was very flavorful, had a great tang, like all worthy Reubens do. The sandwich was so large that I had to put half in the fridge overnight and was amazed that the rye bread held up the next day. We also the French Dip, which was served with a very flavorful au jus (think more like French onion soup than typical bland beef broth which typically accompanies a French Dip. Lastly, we both enjoyed Caesar salads which were a major cut above what you can typically expect from faster food places. Very flavorful dressing with tons of parmesan cheese and croutons on top. Jason's Deli is a new offering for Lexington although I have visited them in Florida before so I wanted to check them out as Lexington doesn't really offer many choices for a good salad bar anymore. This location is very big and nice and in brand new center off of Nicholasville Rd. The staff here is mostly clueless when it comes to the menu and offering details or answering questions about their offerings. My first time here my meal was $18.95 for a one trip salad bar and whole sandwich with a very small portion of potato chips. That's pretty expensive I must say and one of the reasons I've given them a 3 on this review. I also had to get 5 different bowls to get a clean one for the salad bar and the ice cream machine was broken when I was here also. This is the first Jason's in the Lexington market, and I have known them for years in other states. One of my kids worked for they on college. The menu is simple but also vast from pasta to sandwiches, and a great salad bar! Bonus is the soft serve ice cream that is not on the menu but sitting by the drink station! This place is good. However, my first time there, I got a Caesar salad and a large drink (which totaled $11 and some change). When I got to work, the salad left something to be desired. It really left a poor taste in my mouth. It was sooo expensive for something I could have made better at home. Fast forward to maybe two weeks ago. I needed a quick lunch, and since I work right across the street, it was pretty much my only option. I bought this chicken pesto sandwich thing. I was pleasantly surprised. I came here with my mother in law. It is nice and open, I love the set up of the restaurant. You go up and order at the counter. They have a lot of sandwich, soup, salad, and even pasta options. I had half the Papa Joe sandwich which was turkey on this great focaccia bread with like a pesto type mayo. I also had vegetable soup. My mother in law had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. She loved the grilled cheese but thought the tomato soup was not as creamy as she likes, and a little chunky. The free ice cream was super good too! The line did get really long after we ordered. Went with a party of five and walking in the door you have to go to a counter to order your food then gets your drink and find a table to sit at while waiting for your food to come. Looking around most tables only seat four people and during lunch time it was packed. We had to stand for about 5 minutes just to find a table that opened up and borrow a chair from another table to fit us all. The second thing was the drink station/ condiments was a mess things all over the place and just looked like it had been neglected. Aside from the experience I got the Reuben and californiaclub that were both good sandwiches. The sauerkraut was good on the sand which and wasn't to over powering like it can be a lot of times. My wife and I have been looking forward to this opening for a while. Didn't realize they had kiddie seats with wheels! This made for a super easy experience in line and even some entertainment at mealtime (our kid loves to spin!). I ordered a half muffaleta and the salad bar. Decided to give this Deli a try since it is new....Worst Ruben i have ever had. Bread was beyond soggy and falling apart, corned beef tasted microwaved. Had to pull off a MOUNTAIN of sour kraut from the sandwich even before I could start eating it. Not a good experience at all, if you can't get a Ruben right why even call yourself a Deli?
