The lady at register was absolutely AMAZING. She was SO friendly and helpful. The gentlemen that delivered our meals and the guy that cleared our plates were super friendly and nice as well. My rewards had 2 coupons: a .99 kids meal one and a $5 off one. Each said only 1 coupon per transaction but the lady at the register used her magical super powers and applied BOTH. So for 1 adult and 2 kids, it came to $8!!! For food... I got the Salad Bar and my kids got the cheese pizzas. Our meals were amazing. The salad bar was filled and fresh. Love the reward member benefits. Just sampled 3 different kinds of pasta and 2 wraps. The meatball marinara pasta was our favorite. The cheesy truffle pasta was topped with gooey cheese. The truffle flavor is strong so if you're not a truffle fan , skip this. The chicken cheese pasta was good but I didn't care for the fresh raw mushrooms. It's weird that you can add mushrooms to customize the pasta but they just add raw mushrooms. The pasta is served with 2 pieces of focaccia bread. The ranchero wrap was messy to eat. I don't know where to begin eith my disappointment. We have been coming to this Jasons since 2005. Today will be my last day coming here. The young man taking our order hardly said a word and didn't repeat our order back to us. Thr woman who brought our order out said nothing and when I said we were missing items she just walked off without offering to help. My roast beef sandwich was cold. I took it back to be remade and it came back eith like a ton of cheese over it which I never asked for. The cheese was horrible smelling. My granddaughters chicken looked old and was rubbery. I have always ordered build your own roast beef sandwich on French bread and in the past, got it with onion soup. I knew JD had stopped serving onion soup but still looked forward to the sandwich. Went yesterday and was dismayed to note the meat was not what they had served in the past....it was that pressed roast beef which is not the same. And the floor in the restaurant was dirty and messy. They have a big menu, so it can be a little tough to decide what to get. However, I really like their roast beef dip. And they have a terrific salad bar. So I was on my quest to find a Pastrami Reuben sandwich in the area and saw that Jason's Deli had the right ingredients so I gave it a shot. I was finished working out and had shopped nearby so I ordered online for curbside pickup. I ordered the sandwich as is except I subbed the Thousand Island dressing with just mustard. The sandwich was prepared so quickly that when I called for pickup at curbside, the clerk said it would take another 5 minutes but was dropping it off within a minute or two. She said it happened to come out faster than she expected so we laughed. Ordering online was a breeze and very user friendly. My order even gave me an option for free chips so I ordered the Salt and Vinegar chips. I like the open paper bag that's folded down the edges so you can access your sandwich and check your order with ease. I was impressed as I got a large portion of meat, sauerkraut on 2 slices of rye bread which was great because I'm watching the carbs, a pickle slice that's pre-wrapped in plastic and 2 mints! How cute and a nice finishing touch! Everything was packaged neatly. And I could taste the mustard and thinly sliced Swiss cheese. I would buy this again if I was shopping at Costco. We had not been here in quite sometime due to things just not being as good as they used to be. I had been hoping for a sandwich that was better than my last few attemtps so I was trying something new. The PoorBoy Cruz. I couldn't finish it. All the items on this sandwich are things I like. However, certain combinations don't always work. The Stone Ground mustard was so powerful it overwhelmed everything else on the sandwich. I should have known but as much as I love mustard it has never gone well with turkey. That and the added dressings just didn't light up my taste buds in the right way. My bad as I'm sure there are others that don't mind that combination. Overall the service was so so. No one seemed to enjoy working there or interacting with customers. Is it just me that seems to be the thing every where nowdays? Lunch management and staff is 5 star across the board but if you go after 5pm, you're gonna get a lot of staff standing around on phones, managers conjugating, and slower service overall. Food was decent, the potato's are massive, so that hasnt changed, The wife got the the Texas spud and was happy, it doesn't come with sour cream, so if you like cream or chives you need to ask. The boy asked for deli club and seemed to like it (aside from the multi-grain wheat), but he ate the entire sandwich. DO NOT ORDER THE MACARONI....I ordered a Club Royale and wanted something other than chips...macaroni sounded good so I got that. It is literally Kraft macaroni from a box, or at least it looks and tastes like it, so that went straight to trash. Jason's is always good, fresh and satisfying. If you've never been, Jason's is a quick service restaurant. You order at the counter and your food is brought to you but there are no servers. You get your own drinks and if you opt for the salad bar, you build your own. I always get the salad bar and the only complaint I have is that there are not very many protein options other than hummus and boiled eggs but other than that, the options are ample and very fresh. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is very nice. My partner got the Chicken Panini and a cup of chili which was good and I got Amy's Turkey-O on white bread with a side salad. I love Jason's daily so it's sad to have to give them a bad review but the person taking orders did not know how to change basic things like bread type. Then after we got our plates the salad bar was empty had to ask for it to be refilled and the employee that was handing out soups and salad bowls was very rude. I have always been satisfied with sandwiches from Jason's Deli on 1604 @ 281 In Costco's parking lot. This sandwich was the first time I've ordered the croissant. The Sandwich was filled with a generous amount of Turkey and Swiss and was very filling. Sandwiches are not the only food served. Entrees, soups and salads are also available. I have not eaten any of them, but they look very good. I have been very pleased with the overall experience at Jason's Deli. The staff is very helpful, friendly and pleasant. Worse service ever, we ordered a office catering for lunch to be delivered today at 12:15pm CDT from our local store in San Antonio, TX at 1141 N Loop 1604, Suite 108. At 12:30 I contacted the store, spoke to 3 people who kept saying they didnt see my oder, each person just put me on hold and gave the phone to someone else, like they didnt want to be bothered with the call. I finally spoke to "one" of the managers on duty to found my order, he tells me my order has a window of 12:15-12:30, we are speaking at 12:35 now....then he says I am looking right at your order and its heading out the door...I am now writing this at 12:44pm and still no delivery. This is no excuse for this! We will find another company to cater our lunches at our office from now on. Oh BTW, this Jason's deli is literally 1.4 miles from our office. I have been eating at Jason's for more years than I care to admit. It all started for me in Tyler, Texas. When they opened there, my wife dragged me to it, so she could support the owner that she went to high school with. After we moved to the San Antonio area, we continued to enjoy a Jason's every once in a while. I should have written this review a long time ago. I get the same thing nearly every time I go now. It's called the Manager's Special which includes half a sandwich, and either a bowl of soup, or a salad. My order always is the meateaters sandwich and a bowl of their awesome onion soup. It comes with chips and a pickle spear. The sandwich is covered in melted cheese, and so is the soup (cheese makes everything taste better). Service is always hectic, because they are so busy, but they do an admiral job. Food comes out quickly and is always right off the stove (always hot). Then you get to finish your meal with their free ice cream. I feel you get your money's worth here compared to a lot of other places. However, I have noticed that the quantity of meat on the sandwich has been shrinking. If you are in the neighborhood of one of their stores, give it a try. I think you will enjoy it. read more
