I never write reviews. Probably my first ever, lol. I came on here to see if Java offered free wifi (which they do!) so I could do a little work while eating my breakfast sandwich. To see ANY bad reviews about this place is ridiculous. I mean everyone has their off days but, Java Day Cafe always seems to be on point. I stumbled upon this place when I lived in Ridgefield Park 2 years ago and have been traveling through other towns, past plenty of bagel and breakfast spots ever since to get my special made breakfast sandwich from Java Day Cafe. I call ahead and most of the time they already know what I want, and my order is ALWAYS ready AND HOT when I arrive. I am VERY picky and particular about my order and WILL let it be known if its wrong. I have never had any complaints about Java Day Cafe. And not to mention but, lets mention ... the PRICE for the QUALITY! Its none better. A breakfast sandwich for under $5 makes me feel like I went back into time and I'm not mad at all! The service is always served with a smile and comfort. They're warm and friendly, from the chefs (brothers?) on the grill to the cashiers at the front. I always see people sitting inside and some weekends they're jam packed, I may wait outside for my order to be ready (if I didn't call ahead.) I say that to say, I can't be the only one loving the service! This is getting kinda lengthy but, a RAVE review is well deserved for Java Day Cafe and now that I'm done, I'm about to hop on the phone and place my order. Horrible experience today. Owner tried to pull a fast one. Dishonesty and deceitful at its best. Owner took my order. Simple order: 2 omelettes with extra eggs to go. waited 1/2 hour. Received 2 omlettes with extra eggs and jalapenos!! no problem they said and made me 2 more. $26. got home started eating . Little pieces of jalapenos in the omlettes. Instead of making new omlettes he tried to remove to hot peppers but failed!!! We hate jalapenos!! Allergic too!!When i went back and called him on his dishonesty he was red- faced embarrassed and then furious since there were customers in there. I asked for a refund which made him even madder!! Then he told me to "get the f$#k out of his store. Not the first unpleasant experience. They never answer their phones . The grill is ridiculously small so it usuall takes up to an hour wait. And now denial and an attitude to boot!! Go to BAGEL TWIST 1 MILE UP THE SAME ROAD IN TEANECK!! Excellent food. Pleasant service and very fast!! Driving around Bergen County and getting lost, this place was a great place to get my bearings. Living in Hoboken and eating in NYC, I'm always reluctant about food in the burbs. Coffee was freshly brewed and was perfect! The bagel was exactly how I like em...even bought a dozen to take back home. The staff was warm and friendly. Eat local! Buy local! Support local! The bagels are delicious! I almost always order a garlic bagel w/lox spread, tomato, and onions(if you haven't tried it, you should!). I'm obsessed with this place! I can't start my day at work without getting my cafe late. They make these weird combinations of cream cheese that make you question wether it'd go together (like walnut raisin) but I assure you it's beyond delicious. EVERYTHING they serve is tasty. I had a sore throat once and tried their honey ginger tea with lemon and it really soothed my throat. The atmosphere is super cozy. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Decided to try after reading so many good reviews. The eggs are done perfectly and I like the rolls they use. My boyfriend got the tuna melt and says it was just ok. I tried it and agreed. He got it on a croissant and it was so greasy it turned the paper translucent. The hash browns are more like home fries that we're fairly burnt and had no seasoning or onions or peppers. We went back one morning when we had no time to cook and took what we thought were our sandwiches and heading to work. Needless to say we took the wrong ones because they did not mark which was which. read more

Disclaimer: I was in a rush so not super happy with the service and personally think that one person on the grill when you're a breakfast/brunch spot is not helpful to being time efficient. That being said I did enjoy this spot and would come again. The food was good the price was right and though small the place was quaint. Always have a smile on their face and always greet me. Couldn't ask for more. Not sure what all the other reviews are about. Have to be realistic and not so uptight. Breakfast spots gets busy. No one is perfect. It's all about how they deal with the situation. If you confront someone in an unpleasant manner they might not want to resolve your issue. As humans we all make mistakes. I order here pretty regularly and never had an issue until today. Nothing major just a mix up with my drink, I ordered a Nutella iced Frap instead when my delivery came I got a small hot Nutella.one. When I called I don't know why I thought it would be a battle but immediately they apologized and made a new one and sent it over. I didn't have to prepare myself for an argument because they immediately recognized the error and made it right, which sadly you don't see much especially with places like Domino"s pizza in Ridgefield Park. When you get customer service like I got today, it makes you want to recognize them for doing what is right. Their menu is absolutely amazing, it makes you want to try at least one different thing every time you visit or order. I always like to order my bacon egg and cheese but I did venture into the omelettes and I was not disappointed at all and I look forward to start looking into their lunch menu.. i'm pleased to leave this review so in case a simple mistake may happen, there's no need to worry as they are pleased to make it right. Found this place on my way to a hair appointment. It's right across the street from a Dunkin Donuts. Small place. I wasn't sure what to order since I didn't notice the menu at first. Went for a toasted bagel with cream cheese and a latte. Took forever. Very slow service despite there being only 4 other people here. Coffee was good but had to wait around for the bagel. My wife first took me here for a little father's day treat before we headed down the shore. It's a small place with charm. The coffee both hot and iced kr very good. My wife and daughter really like their take on French toast. I love my taylor ham egg and peanut butter sandwich. The bagels are always soft and fresh. I don't know where to begin with my horrible experience. Pretty much this place soured my work day. I went here this morning to try it out since it has so many "good" reviews. I ordered an iced Nutella latte and a California breakfast sandwich WITHOUT onions on a roll. I stress without because once I left and drove away and arrived at work the sandwich had onions on it ...,,now you would think hmm I could just take em off right? Nope because they were mixed into the egg...raw red onions. Honestly if I were allergic to onions this place would be in big trouble. Non the less I was annoyed because to top it off I waited over 20 minutes for my sandwich. Even people who came in after me who ordered at the counter (not online orders) got their food before I did. It seems they forgot to make my order but I would have appreciated an apology of some sort. At the time I didn't say anything because I figured my food would be amazing. It was not since I don't eat onions I was overall disappointed and was left with nothing to eat before my work day started. It was money down the drain. It put a damper on the start of the day since I work consecutive hours and like to fuel up before hand. A very busy place which is great but for some reason I have a feeling bad reviews were taken off from here. Because it seems so easily for them to mess up with the volume they have with not enough people working. Doesn't seem like I'll be coming back here. The food is just ok and like some other reviewers have said- they take way too long and are obviously understaffed. My husband usually goes to pick up the bagels whenever we order from here, however, on Father's Day I went. The girl at the counter was beyond rude and seemed so unhappy. You work the counter at a cafe- it's not that serious. What will you do when you have a real job one day and your position relies on customer satisfaction? Great portions for the price and a varied menu with many healthy choices that are so delicious you would think you were cheating on your own body!
