I wish I had read the reviews before visiting. Like others I was taken aback by the staff not wearing masks, as well as other health concerns (touching faces then cups, pens, and credit cards). Food is fresh and delicious. You can't go wrong with this place whether you have salad sandwich or desert.

I have stopped at Java Groove for the past week while working up in Evergreen. I have been greeted by two ladies that were friendly. My Vanilla Latte was great and I tried a chicken sandwich which was made fresh in their kitchen. The staff had masks on, gloves, and plexiglass in front of the counter. The place was clean and the seating is set up with adequate distancing. They added outdoor seating which I used on one warm day then walked steps to the creek which was beautiful. Brought the lemon bar back up to the gal behind the counter, because a big chunk was taken off the corner. Showed the the gal behind the counter and she was rude and didn't replace it. Best sandwich shop in the foothills. They make a delicious gluten-free sandwich. Served with an over-the-top, yummy, green salad, and a good cup of coffee, it can't be beat. I was happy to see that more of the personnel were wearing masks this time around. That wasn't the case the last time I visited in June. Admittedly it was a concern when our server brought us our meal outside and wasn't wearing a mask. Best breakfast I've ever had! Got their egg scrambler with no peppers but added bacon, they gave me broccoli to replace the peppers and it was so perfect! Plus their Honey Vanilla Chai is like no other Chai I've had, so yummy! read more

This is a disgusting place. First of all the coffee is disgusting and I went to go ask for a different one and they wanted me to pay for a separate coffee because I didn't like the one I got! That's not how you should treat your customers. Then there is a sign that says free refills on ALL coffee and so my brother went up and asked for a refill on his and they refused to give him a refill. And proceeded to laugh at him. I've been coming to Java Groove over the years for the ambiance and the chocolate cake, but will choose Safeway's Starbucks over this place from now on due to the rude customer service. (The coffee is about the same anyway.) I came in to do some work, and ordered a salad for lunch. I was freezing by the time I finished, so ordered some tea and told the cashier I would be moving outside (where it was warmer). She told me to wait for the tea (implying she wouldn't bring it out, even though there were at least two other employees working, one who was just cleaning tables). I said ok, but gathered my laptop and purse to show her I couldn't really carry an entire teapot on top of that, and didn't want to leave my computer sitting on the sidewalk or on her counter! She watched as I tried to pick up the teapot and suggested I put my things outside and come back for the tea. (Again, no reason to risk losing my purse and computer over a cup of tea!) She refused to help, and I even think she enjoyed being stubborn by NOT helping. I told her I'd come back for the tea, and I've been sitting here 15 minutes working and writing this review and they haven't brought it out to me, even though the bus boy came out to clean all the tables around me. Very average. Ambiance was nice and and cozy coffee bar-ish. Since I only had the food here, that's what I'll rate. First, after ordering the honey mustard chicken wrap, the wait for the food on an uncrowded Saturday at 2pm was suprisingly long. And then no explanation/apology provided when it finally arrived. The chicken was very dry and the cole slaw side was brownish at the bottom. Don't know if the rest of the menu items are as disappointing. This coffee shop looked cute and promising. Upon ordering a large espresso with a splash of soy milk, I was scoffed at by the lady with glasses behind the counter as she said, "so, you want a latte?" No, I don't want a latte. I wanted three shots of espresso, on ice, with a splash of soy milk. She obviously didn't get it, so I said "whatever... I guess a latte then." Which ended up being 5.75.... Not only was I charged for a latte, but they charge extra to put any drink on ice!! What a joke. And the coffee was disgusting. I ended up throwing away my iced "latte" about 1/4 of the way through. My little sister got a mocha frappe that she tossed after drinking about half. It was bitter, watered down, and flat. Stick to Starbucks folks!! I bought lunch here and will never return. Being a new resident of Evergreen this place looked nice from the outside. I stepped inside and it still looked decent but I was the only customer. I walked up to the counter and browsed their display of cakes and pastries. There were 2 different types of chocolate cake, triple chocolate flourless cake, and original recipe. As i placed my sandwich and coffee order with the nice cashier girl, I also asked for a slice of original chocolate cake after my meal. She was happy to accommodate with the timing of my orders. I sat down and my sandwich came out great and delicious. My cake was delivered to the table soon after. It didnt taste like original cake was expected to taste so i walked up to the display to compare the cakes with my slice. The cashier had ordered me the flourless cake and not the original. Common mistake, so I told her and she apologized. She said she would fix her mistake riggt away. Great service. She presses a few buttons on the computer and one minute later an older woman (im guessing the cook or owner) came out from the back room saying, "are you kidding me?! We have one customer and you f*** up the only order?!"... I was shocked. She was not joking around. The cashier girl looked terrified and said sorry to me again. The older woman said "thats the last mistake you're going to make today" and started slamming things around to get to the cake display. She was so rude to the girl, I told the woman that my appetite was lost. The woman told me they dont give refunds for the food. I left without saying a word I was so appalled by her behavior. I hope the cashier finds a job where her employers actually respect her, and i hope the woman finds a new line of work where her vulgarity is needed. read more

Hands down the best Chai I have ever had. Very cute place right in the heart of picturesque Evergreen. Lunch menu looks incredibly good but I chose to focus on my Chai. Lady at the counter was super friendly. Lots and lots of syrup flavors to choose from including a long list of sugar free syrups which is always hard to find. Bravo. read more

As a resident of Evergreen, I have found the employees behind the counter at Java Groove to be unhelpful and surly on multiple visits. If it weren't for those "pesky customers" their day would be great. The staff also does not stand behind their product. Recently had a cold brew there that just tasted terrible. Every product has its bad day and I understand that. After taking a few sips of the cold brew, I kindly asked for a cup of hot coffee or tea as a replacement. I was told, "we don't give out free drinks". Despite trying to reason with the employee that the product was simply bad that day and not up to the standards I'm sure they want, the follow-up response from the employee was, "I didn't make the brew, I just poured it. We don't give out free drinks. If you want a replacement you will have to pay for it." We'll vote with our feet by going elsewhere for our frequent local coffee stops. read more

We brought out of town friends to have a cup of coffee here where we had come often when shopping in town. The barista made a chai tea for my daughter who has had more than her share of this drink to know good from bad. This drink was not even close to good. She asked for something else and was told that they can't give her another drink (Mind you I had bought 10 drinks) just because she didn't like it. So after I went up to help the conservation along they begrudgingly made her another. Long story short don't go here. Good amount of choc in the drink not too much where I couldn't taste the coffee. If u r looking for beans skip this place. Roasted in ft Collins which is fine. I'm giving it a boo/hiss for its 12oz Lbs. U can get whole bean but they won't grind it for u so u gotta go with whatever grind the have in the pre ground. The atmosphere here is fantastic for studying and a great place to chat with friends. If you are going to eat here, you should order the salads as that is what they are best at. I love driving up HWY 74 to come here for a quick cup of coffee. On Wednesdays, you get to pick a poker chip out of a bucket to determine your discount. I always get a hazelnut latte, and it is always really good. Just enough kick to wake me up and not too much that it makes me jittery. Comfy couches on the inside with wi-fi invite you to sit and relax for a bit before heading back to major civilization. read more

Been here at least 10 times for breakfast and lunch and have always been satisfied with service and food. Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side for lunch, but breakfast is really reasonable. I drink americanos and the coffee is good...not amazing, but the atmosphere makes up for it. The ranch pasta salad is really good! read more
