Easy to find, harder to park during the week.

The easiest favorite chain I have, up there with Waffle House! Copper Moon offers the happy blend of excellent mobile ordering in Toast app, many free customizations, who does that anymore? I love it! So happy to see proper fair pricing where milk substitutions are not taking advantage of us dairy deniers. It's also wonderful to also see many syrups and other tricks easily added into a frappe, frozen blended, and other beverages. I cannot sing the praises high enough for these basic benefits many people have been forced to pay for. The extra large sizes for frozen and iced coffees are also a treat. This CM offers all that good stuff with friendly service, comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere, but limited hours not ideal for late campus life and frustrating parking are the things here. I have quickly become a fan of the Rose frozen frappe, an unsung hero of my palette that few places offer at all. The vanilla lavender, raspberry lemon, and warm chai spices are all goodly tasty ways to enjoy coffee. I highly recommend everyone ditch the other over priced and underpowered coffee chains and shoot for the moon!

Friendly staff, small but cozy tables, and better coffee than the other local coffeehouses (Greyhouse, Reveille, Vienna). Would recommend.

Walt, the owner is exceptional; he shows passion in everything he does and it's clear he cares deeply about his establishment. I have enjoyed several different coffee drinks. The two I'd highlight as perhaps the most original offerings in town are the Quest Coffee Latte (it's made with protein powder) and the hot nitro brew. I personally love the hot nitro. As far as food and snacks, they always have excellent locally sourced goods. I believe they pulling treats from Mama Inez, a local Hispanic bakery and also Scones and Doyles (European bakery). The final highlight I'll mention is the space; it's huge! This coffee shop sits across two store fronts. One side gives study room/university vibes, while the other is more of a traditional shop. So if you want a quiet study area, you have it. If you want the atmosphere of a fully alive coffee shop, you've got it!

They claim as their inspiration the perfect alignment of a "copper moon" and their mission "to create evenly roasted, uniquely smooth, high-grade coffee." I won't claim Copper Moon as my absolute favorite coffee, though it's definitely one I've turned to even before I knew they were actually an Indiana company. They have cafes in Lafayette, West Lafayette, and also one in West Lafayette at Purdue University. Copper Moon Coffee, however, is available in retail outlets nationwide including HEB, Albertson's, Kroger, Meijer, Giant Eagle, Market District, Costco, Target, Sam's Club, Tops Friendly Markets, Brookshire Grocery Company, Southeastern Grocers, and Associated. They also sell to offices, restaurants, hospitals, universities, convenience stores, and even vending kiosks. There's a pretty good chance you've had Copper Moon Coffee without even realizing it! They offer a variety of coffee bags, drinkware, wearables, swag, and they have a variety of coffees. Copper Moon is a Safe Quality Food Level 2 Supplier and in terms of sourcing they focus on three pillars: 1) Social inclusion to empower women farmers 2) Economic impact on the income of small farmers 3) Environmental coffee production systems. The more I've learned about Copper Moon, the more I've liked. They manage to maintain a strong flavor of Indiana while also growing into a large, national company. The Gutwein family roasts awesome coffee and they genuinely know how to market it. If I were to pick a favorite, I'd probably go with the medium roast Stargazer! You can also order their products off their website and you'll likely be surprised by the different types of coffee that they offer. If you're in the Lafayette/West Lafayette area, you can also experience one of their coffee cafes!

I met up with my family for brunch, and we were all in a waffle kind of mood. I ordered the banana granola waffle and it was next-level good! The waffle was perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and layered with just the right balance of sweetness and texture from the ample amount of bananas, whipped cream, and granola. Paired with a cinnamon maple latte? I was one deep breath away from writing a personal thank-you letter to the hands that prepared that plate! But honestly, one of the best parts of the visit was the energy. The woman running the register was giving full-on main character vibes. You could tell immediately she wasn't just taking orders--she was living the dream. The care. The joy. The way she engaged every single customer. That kind of presence can't be faked. It felt like ownership--even if it wasn't, it carried that level of pride and purpose. The indoor seating is cozy (read: tight but charming), but there's plenty of outdoor seating and as Indiana finally remembers what sunshine feels like, this is going to be the spot. Perfect for lingering over a latte, reading a book, or catching up with a good friend. Come for the coffee. Savor a waffle. Watch out for the redhead!
