My mother, aunt, and I had breakfast at Jack's Diner in North Fort Myers this morning, and it was delicious. I ordered the fried bologna with potatoes and eggs, my mother had a biscuit, egg, and cheese sandwich, and my aunt ordered two eggs with wheat toast. Everything was cooked perfectly, with generous portions that left us more than satisfied. The food here is always consistently good, and today was no exception. Jax Diner is being here a long time in North Fort Myers! One of my favorite breakfast dishes is the Western omelet. I discovered the difference between Western Omelet and Denver Omelet when I had my first breakfast at Jax many years ago! Both use essentially the same ingredient, diced ham, pepper, cheese and onions. The main difference I found that breakfast egg cooks a few minutes before adding in the vegetables and meat while Western omelet add the vegetables and ham right away with the egg. Western omelet allows the vegetable and meat to cook in the egg more thoroughly. In fact, Denver omelet is a Western Omelet! today, we have breakfast here at Jax! Naturally, I ordered the Denver Omelet with coffee! The diced ham, green pepper, onions and cheese is so enticing with aroma, you know it is your dish! The fruits are fresh and sweet. Great breakfast! Jax is a cash only diner. The staff is friendly, professional with great service. We stop here whenever we have the opportunity! Can't go wrong with Jax! read more

Heard a lot about Jax Diner since moving to North Fort Myers. Finally got a chance to go yesterday. I met a friend for lunch. Cute diner vibe. Booths and tables. Our waitress was extremely nice. I ordered the Triple Decker with fries. It was stacked high and was super delicious! The fries were very hot and crispy. My friend got the Crunchy Cod sandwich and he loved it. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they seemed to be out of several menu items. Otherwise I highly recommend a visit to Jax Diner. read more

Decided to try this diner for lunch as it was very close to my optometrist. I'm glad I stopped as it was good. There were several more things I would like to try. I went with the chopped steak. Cheery staff, seating, taking orders, and clearing tables, I ordered the Denver Omelet and my friend had the Ruben sandwich and fries. Both were good and decent. Decor is dated but pleasant, food was quick n good; Kelly, our waitress, stopped numerous times; in our 50 minute visit there was a frequent influx of clients I felt that the wait staff (2 ladies) were responsible for everything except cooking. They seated guests, cleaned tables, served food, provided checks, collected $, attended to ten or more tables each. They weRe to be commended. This is probably my 20th visit to this restaurant and normally received the best service. Today was a little different and that was because the two servers were just overworked with all the customers. My server forgot one item of food on my order, but brought it after I was half way through my meal. You have to ask for water. The food was excellent and portions was full. Was seated and needed to look at the menu cause it had been a while. Had been a while before the lady came back to get our order but we had our drinks. Pp. I got the basic 2 eggs over medium and they had my sausage patties, Rye toast.and don't like breakfast without grits. When I hear the word diner, this is what it looks like! Round stools at a counter, cozy booths with high backs, black and white tile floors, and the old-fashioned 50's style chairs and tables....they have it all. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was the service. Maybe this was our server's "off" day (who knows what she has going on personally?). Two hours before closing and she didn't know the specials? Everyone has a bad day, we'll be back and I'll update my review, I promise. We came at lunchtime on the hunt for a good burger (my husband is on a mission, read other reviews). His 1/2 pound charbroiled burger in his words was "your average greasy diner burger" which is not bad, just average. Ed's burgers are just plain with bacon which is a true test of the meat and the seasonings....nothing to cover it up so it's a tough test! I had the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and was pleasantly surprised...the chicken was not breaded. It came out steaming hot and juicy and I devoured every last bite. The side of coleslaw was good. With tip and sodas, our bill came to $28. The shopping center is clearly struggling. It is now half empty after the Winn Dixie closed (auction sign on the door). I hope they find a new anchor tenant but I am sure the locals all know this place so hopefully Jax will continue. They've spent some money on the decor and lighting in this place and it shows. Lived in Lee County for over seven years and just now stumbled on this place. A couple things to note. 1) We showed up with a large group shortly before closing on Sunday, and they treated us like we had all day. 2) We have people with food allergies and sensitivities and they did everything they could to help. Neither are small things to us. The food was great. I'm from Texas and we take our biscuits and gravy seriously. When someone says "homemade", we'll know if they're lying. This was the real deal. Most of us got breakfast, but a couple got the classic cheeseburger and said it was very good. Last thing, as I was leaving the cook talked me to in to taking one of their fresh baked blueberry muffins home. Well...after years of begrudgingly buying the muffins at Starbucks (I know I know), I was once again reminded what a massive, homemade blueberry muffin is supposed to taste like. So if you're a sucker for a comfortable booth with quick coffee refills, pleasant service and great food, Jax will do. read more
