Southern Subs is a quaint little sub shop that is turning out very good custom subs. Went for lunch with a friend and was welcome as we came in. I really respect this kind of business culture. I requested a Philly cheese steak and they were able to accommodate. I asked for wiz on it but they didn't have any wiz so I settled for provolone. My friend got the Cuban and we shared he got half of my Philly and I got half of his Cuban. Both subs were very good and I would highly recommend giving Southern subs a try. The atmosphere is simple with some small tables. More of a takeout place than to sit in.

Hello foodies after reading some reviews there supose to make the best steak and cheese subs in North Fort Myers so that's all I needed to know to stop in and try one. Food 5/5 I ordered there steak and cheese and boy was it digger licking good , the reviews were bang on and this place lived up to its reputation. The bread was super soft , the beef oh that beef was so perfectly tender and juicey melt in your mouth, perfectly seasoned with the right amount of fattiness. Covered in melted cheese with onions, mushrooms and green peppers a perfect blend on this incredible tasting cheese steak. Service 5/5 it's a small independent family run business .looked like husband and wife and the mother in there running the place super friendly and fast service. The ambiance is a takeout place and was under renovation at the time I went but nice ...plenty of parking and easy to find check them out you wont be disaeponted

    Small Reuben sandwich

Wow! What a shocker! I'd never seen this little hole-in-the-wall Sub shop across Byshore Road from Walmart in North Fort Myers, and didn't think it looked like much from the outside. Boy, was I wrong! We went in and my son (as usual) ordered a Reuben sandwich. I asked the man working there what he would order if he came in? He told me the Philly Steak sandwich. I said OK, and was I ever glad! That was one of the best Phillies I've ever eaten! (well, half of it was. I could only eat half because it was so big! I'll eat the other half tomorrow! My son's Reuben, according to him, was big, messy and full of yummy Reuben flavor! He also told me his was the SMALL Reuben! Lol! The big one is even bigger...1/2 lb pastrami and 1/2 lb corned beef! I pity the person who tries to eat that much food in one sitting, although my son would love to try! If you haven't stopped in, do yourself a favor and get one of the best subs around. He has a rule that you get a free chips and canned soda if you write your first review. It doesn't have to be a good one, just honest. Don't worry. If my first trip in is any indication, yours will be as good as mine!

Don't let the outside fool you. The original establishment was more for take-out and catering but now fixed up with six tables. It is not a fancy place but comfortable and cozy. What is lacking in space made up in taste. I sampled their Philly Cheese steak with coleslaw with Snapple Peach Iced Tea. The Cheese steak was cooked to perfection and coleslaw with right balance between creamy, tangy, and sweet. I took the chocolate chip cookie home. Love that cookie! Next table patron recommended me to try the Rueben, Italian Pasta salad and soup next time! The price is reasonable. Mom and her staff are friendly with that neighborhood feel! A great place for lunch!

Let's talk smoothies first. The Inland Bliss, Sunrise Bay and Paradise Seeker were on repeat for me the entire week. No sugar added, just pure blended fruit and ice. For breakfast one morning I had the Jersey Special on a baguette and I haven't had a breakfast sandwich like that since being back home in New York. Fried egg, Taylor ham, bacon, hash brown and cheese. I'm still dreaming about it. For lunch I had the turkey and provolone on a croissant and was completely blown away. Simple, flavorful and absolutely delicious. My fiancé had the tuna melt one day and loved every bite. I also tried the French onion soup and it was soooooo yum. What made every single visit even better was Anna and Uglus (I hope I spelled that right). They welcomed me back every time like I was a regular and that kind of warmth is everything when you're away from home. The place is cute and quaint. The Rustic Sandwich & Deli…read more First Impressions: I finally stopped by The Rustic to try the sandwiches and see what all the hype was about. The dining area is small but very functional, with a couple of tables, some bar seating, a soda cooler, with a large wall menu, and an ordering counter. Everything was spotless and neatly arranged. Olivia took our order and could not have been friendlier. She answered every question we had, while the owner, Ralph, stood nearby and shared more about the deli. He explained that he is from Pennsylvania, near Philadelphia, and that the sandwiches are made fresh, with some items prepared in-house each day. He even described the bread they use. Both Olivia and Ralph were welcoming and took the time to help us choose our meals. Kudos to them for making us feel like regulars on our very first visit. What We Ordered: *Rachel: Corned beef and coleslaw on marbled rye, lightly heated *Swiss Tuna: Homemade tuna with Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise on a sub roll *Drinks: Selected from the cooler My Thoughts: Our sandwiches were outstanding. My corned beef and coleslaw sandwich was flavorful and easily the best version I have found in the area. It arrived lightly heated, just the way I like it. My wife's Swiss tuna sandwich was enormous and packed with freshly made tuna. The lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh, and the sub roll was excellent. The portion was so generous that she took half of it home. Final Verdict: If you are in the area, stop by The Rustic and grab a sandwich. We were glad we did, and I am happy to give The Rustic five stars. Gulf Coast Terry
