I've been to this donut (I think that's how you spell it) joint on several occasions. I like the two short Asian ladies who work there. They are very welcoming to their regulars. What kept me coming back were the fresh glazed twisted donuts that they had early in the morning. Anyways, this place has pretty cheap donuts...I shouldn't say that because it has such a negative connotation. What I meant was that the donuts are fairly cheap. You can get a devil's food, a glazed twist, a large milk, and 1/2 of your daily caloric intake for $2.70, which is a pretty damn good deal if you ask me. The down side is that they don't always have a good selection of donuts, but that doesn't stop me from getting what I want! read more

I had three kids with me and the lady who was helping us was very patient with them as they anguished over the decision between Maple bar and chocolate bar... First time here this evening and had great customer service! There was still a huge selection of donuts by the time I got here, around 6pm but be warned, some donuts do sell out quickly! My favorites are the sugar twists or glazed donuts. I'm not picky with donuts but I'll definitely be back here again. Though they ran out of jelly donuts, the male staff went into the back and made some for me. Yay! All of the donuts were soft and not too sweet. I ordered a dozen which came out to be $11. There are ten other Jax Donutses? Really? Anyway, this is one of those places that I've seen literally 6,782 times but have only been to like eleven times. It's been around ever since I can remember, which means it was probably here before I was born. The donuts are OK. In the early eighties, they had Centipede, and I think my brother and sister would play it when my dad brought us here to get donuts. This is before (I assume) we discovered Dandy Donuts (RIP) in the Whittwood Mall. When they took out Centipede and didn't replace it with another arcade game, this place lost all value for me. The last time I was here was in 1998. We had international guests in town, and the Krispy Kreme had just opened in La Habra. My dad hates Krispy Kreme with a passion, so after our out-of-town guests had gone out to see the scene at Krispy Kreme (this was when there would literally be lines in the drive-thru at three a.m.), he treated them to donuts from Jax. I don't remember whether our guests were impressed, but I was excited to come here again after such a long absence. I haven't been back, but I'd totally go. read more

I've been going to Jax for close to 20 years now. Wow I guess that makes me old!! I have long periods of low carbing so sometimes there's months and even years in between visits but then other times, every Sunday I get my donut on and I love it! Since I'm a creature of habit with my food, I get the glazed donut every time - usually the round but the twist is just fine too. Seriously it's the best glazed donut I've ever had - made fresh every day, not greasy but light and fluffy. The service here is excellent - quick and friendly. If you're a regular or semi regular - they will get to know your order, likes and dislikes after a couple of visits. Staff is always the same 3 people that trade shifts and they are always smiling and friendly. Very nice people! p.s. I don't know why this place has such good reviews. We stopped by last night and the guy was very rude, was more interested in his show playing on TV. The doughnuts were average, definitely not fresh but we didnt expect them to be at midnight. We came back again tonight and the same guy was even more rude. He looked up at us as we walked up then proceeded to watch TV for 2 minutes, finally walked over and barked "what do you want?" Service was so bad, we just left. I haven't gone there at night but my husband has. Says that you have to order through a small window without being able to see your options. They should have pictures up on the window for you to see their selection. In the daytime they have two ladies working the shop. One of them is nicer than the other. The one who speaks English. I agree with previous reviewers. I wish I could leave negative stars and am also completely dumbfounded by the terrible service here. I'd say I went in with pretty reasonable expectations as far as donut shop service is concerned, but the man behind the counter literally yelled at me when I asked what flavor was in the jelly donut. I am somewhat perplexed on how these business owners are rude and the local community still goes and makes purchases! My son is playing in AYSO and so we walked in to speak to the owners. I began by stating, " I am glad to see how the local community supports your business and would appreciate if your business would show some support for our youth programs.... If a zero were possible, I would've given them a ZERO. After purchasing a donut and orange juice to-go from their order window (for the first time EVER); we walked our small 15 year old Maltese across the parking lot driveway from Jax Donuts main front door (on our way back to our car) There in that little spot (because of age and arthritis) our dog chose to sit down and rest under a small palm tree on a piece of cement before we were going to go on our way again. The male owner of Jax suddenly stood in their open door, and proceeded to "stare-us-down". At first, we thought he was looking at something else. We didn't even BEGIN to think that he was scowling at us, because we were just standing there. After about a full 3 minutes of his dirty looks, I asked him from across the way if there was an issue or if something was wrong. His reply was startling and COMPLETELY unexpected...he began to YELL at us from within their open door, and proceeded to tell us that "He didn't care about STUPID American laws", and that if we didn't "leave and get [our] STUPID dog out of there, he was going to get us out of there himself, because [he] didn't care about STUPID American laws". I couldn't believe it! Before I could say a single word, he started to walk out of his store, and thrusted himself at us in a threatening manner, and then his wife chimed-in and started screaming at us from the window (all of this right after she had serviced us) and accused us of going there every Saturday and allowing our dog to pee on their property and in that tree (which is about 2.25 car lengths away from their store front, but what's worse was that he WASN'T EVEN peeing!...he was just sitting there!). Despite how many times we tried to tell them that they were probably mistaking us for someone else, they proceeded to SCREAM at us and the male kept walking out into the parking lot diagonal from us. We even thought to possibly petition help from a neighboring establishment to bridge the language barrier and remedy this sudden and ugly situation, but the male owner passive-aggressively followed me by walking out completely into the parking lot where I was at, and all the while he was yelling out at new that he didn't care about "STUPID American laws anymore". We finally had to call the police - only then did he stop his ranting. Needless to say, we'll never go back there during our visits to that shopping strip ever again. They were rude, dishonest, and unprofessional (especially where business-owner-character is concerned). I wish I could at least say that the donut made up for the experience, but it didn't. It was dry, and tasted old....but that could've been because the service left such a sour taste in our mouths... read more

Best French cruller I've had so far from a local shop! Light, fluffy texture inside and a clean, greaseless exterior. Lowest pricing for a donut shop too, with the French cruller costing .70 cents, and donuts sold for as low as .55 cents. Service was friendly, and the petite lady offered coffee to go with my donut.
