It makes me sad to write this review because I had no issues with Homeshield until a few months…read moreago. I have been a customer of Homeshield for years and have had various services - wood rot treatment, monthly pest and rodent service, rodent exclusion treatment. My parents also have Homeshield service their home because of my referral. I want to make it clear that the technicians who service my house continue to be great. My usual technician is Julio and he's always super friendly, on time, and does a great job. My issues in the last few months pertain only to the call center and billing. In April I was charged for my monthly service even though no technician came out to service my house. I called Homeshield to let them know and they indicated I would not be charged for June. When June came, I was still charged for June so I had to call back to ask once again for money back. The call center indicated that I called too late before they processed the payment so the charge would fall off my July billing. At the beginning of July I called Homeshield to schedule my monthly treatment because I was going to be out of town. I informed the call center that I was going to be out of town and that was the reason for me scheduling my monthly service. The call center was able to get my monthly pest service schedule before I left, the call center did not indicate that I had a separate rodent treatment schedule for July 24. I left the country and while on my trip I got a text that my house would be serviced on July 24. I was pretty confused because I thought I had my house serviced and I even told the call center I would be out of town. Due to the 9 hour time difference I had to tell my brother to call Homeshield to cancel the appointment. On July 22, my brother informed me that he canceled my appointment and notified Homeshield that I would call to reschedule. On July 24, I got a text from the technician that he was about 30 minutes from my house to perform the service. I had to respond via text that I had cancelled my appointment and apologize that the call center did not inform him that I had cancelled. I am not too sure what is causing the breakdown in communication but I honestly feel terrible for these technicians not being informed of things. It also doesn't sit right with me that I have to apologize to the technician not for anything I did, but for the breakdown in communication caused directly by the call center. I also am not sure what is happening with the scheduling since before the no show incident in April I had technicians service my house every single month without issue. Update: Bryana from Homeshield called me on August 5 to learn more about the breakdown in billing, communication, and scheduling. She was really friendly, professional, and apologetic. I felt like she was not calling simply for me to fix my review but actually listened and wanted to make sure that as a customer I felt that things were remedied. She thoroughly explained my services and what Homeshield was going to do to help make everything right. She also informed me that she was going to reach out to my dad to make sure his experience as a customer was great. Overall, I am really happy with how Homeshield handled remedying the situation to ensure that I continued to receive better services in regards to billing and scheduling.

A few weeks ago I asked my wife have you seen the pest control folks because we have tons of spiderwebs all over our front yard and stairs. I looked it up and they had not been here almost 2 months even though we were paying for monthly service. I called and they said oops sorry we missed July ( weird we had to tell them ) so they promised to refund us for July- not sure that's happened? They then promised to come out last week- scheduled that and then canceled day of. After a few days, they called us back to reschedule - ended up today and again they canceled our appointment day of! Not sure if there's a change of ownership or what's happening, but we are Considering firing them -not happy.

Ayana, whom I spoke with when I reached out, was so kind, patient, and friendly with every question I had. Her professionalism and warm approach truly won our business, and the whole appointment notification system over text was seamless from start to finish. And then there's Omar! From the moment he arrived for our backyard inspection, it was clear we were in the hands of a seasoned professional. He was thorough, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable -- exactly what we needed when we discovered we actually had a squirrel situation on our hands (not a gopher, which is what a wildlife removal company told us the day before). Rather than just doing a quick walkthrough, he took the time to genuinely explain what was going on and answer every single question we had. His guidance gave us a real understanding of the problem, which made a stressful situation feel so much more manageable. We are truly grateful for the expertise and care this entire team put into helping us. Five stars, without question!

The issue is I CAN NEVER GET A HOLD OF ANYONE. I keep leaving voicemails and NO ONE gets back to me to even schedule. What am I paying for? Also, they are using AI to handle customer phone calls which is insane. We're already looking for a new company.

One thing I truly appreciate is their honesty and professionalism. Karen has helped me several times over the years and has always been upfront about what services were actually necessary -- and what wasn't. It's refreshing to work with a company that doesn't try to upsell or waste your money on treatments you don't need. Their services are affordable, reliable, and effective. During the construction phase of our ADU, we experienced a major increase in rodent activity due to debris and materials sitting around for months. Unfortunately, it turned into a full infestation. American Pest Control Services stepped in and completely handled the problem. They truly kicked it in the butt -- and we've had no rodent issues since. Another huge plus for us is that the rodent control methods and products they used were pet-friendly and environmentally conscious. As a pet owner, that was extremely important to me. I appreciate that they took the time to use solutions that helped protect our pets while still effectively solving the issue. Now that construction is finally finished, we no longer need rodent services, but we continue to use them for our quarterly maintenance and annual flea spray treatments because of the great experience we've had with them. Highly recommend them if you're looking for an honest, dependable, affordable, and pet-conscious pest control company.

Recently, I had them come out because I suspected termites in one of our rafter tails. To their credit, they correctly identified that specific spot as just fungus and didn't try to oversell me on treatments I didn't need. However, their inspection was incredibly brief. They spent only a few minutes scanning the house, didn't check the attic at all, and gave us the all-clear. A couple of days later, I had a second company come out for another look. They spent almost an hour doing a thorough inspection and found a severe termite infestation in a different rafter tail that was almost entirely hollowed out. They spotted the signs right through the paint. Green Flash completely missed this. On top of the missed inspection, the wood rot repairs Green Flash did for us 5 years ago (costing about $1,200) have both failed and need to be redone. They spliced a rafter tail that is now loose, and it turns out they miscut a replacement barge board on the back of the house. To cover up the bad cut, they glued a scrap piece of wood over it, which has since detached and is currently hanging off the board. Bottom line: They failed to do a thorough termite inspection, and their carpentry work doesn't hold up. I highly recommend getting a second opinion on their inspections and hiring a dedicated specialist for any actual wood repairs.
