combo of horseback riding and zipline $49 which we thought was a good value. we really enjoyed it. i thought the zip line would be longer and it was only 3 of them gradually increases in height and length. they do have someone taking photos of your time there and you can buy a disk of all your pictures at the end. $35 for 2 activities I thought was more than reasonable for the great candid shots and posed ones as well. they do mention tipping several times. since I was unaware of this and did not bring cash. our horse guide was Richard, he was very nice and funny. i wish the activities were longer. I did, however, get a little angry that i believed we would be getting a $5 discount on the combo package for signing the waiver online as advertised on their website. but was told its one or the other. which i dont understand and will be emailing them about this issue, as I believe they owe me $10 since that is what i budgeted for this activity. read more

The staff is amazing and they are great with kids on all of the different things there. The only reason that I didn't give them a higher star rating is the zip line experience. 2 of the 6 need to be adjusted, we weren't able to make it to the bottom. I was very nervous attempting this. Tanner and Shane were the best guides ever. My husband managed to lose his wallet and keys on one line(the lanyard he was wearing broke). We were so upset. With the help of Chad, Shane and Tanner.. everything was recovered!!! All of them work so hard to ensure that all of us on vacation are having an amazing experience. DO NOT go to this ranch! My family and I arrived at the ranch at 12:45 to do the horse ride and left at 4:40 without riding the horses ONCE! Not even talking about how incredibly disorganized this establishment is but the fact that there were young children not only mine but other families sitting out in the heat for multiple hours and never getting to ride the horses! The staff kept lying to everyone and telling them 20 more minutes when they knew it would be much longer. After my family and multiple others have been sitting in the heat on a bench for more than three hours waiting for the horseback riding a group of more than 30 girls showed up and they let them in front of everyone! When asked why they let these People in front of other families with children that have been waiting for hours even though there are no reservations allowed and they just showed up they said that they were "friends of the managers" and that get to go before all the people that have been waiting! After everyone saw the disorganization that was happening we all went down to the front desk to get a refund and were never apologize to and being treated very rudely by the one staff member that was at the window not to mention that we all had to stand in that long line to wait for a refund after already waiting hours for the horseback riding. This is a incredibly disorganized organization with a rude staff and money pinchers! We all had to pay for wrist bands and wear them and the Group of 30 didn't have any and just got to walk wherever the wanted. It is not only sad that half of the day was wasted on people's vacations instead of them just telling us we would be waiting and making multiple young children that were excited to ride the horses, wait and then not be able to go! I am incredibly upset I will never be going back here! And their next excuse was that it was a school group and they needed to get back to school in time??? It's nearly 5:00 do they go to night school or something?? Their was much more unethical things that I don't think I could even put in here. Understand you'll be treated poorly and wasting your money and time! DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY! Standing in line for a refund and watched a little kid turn to his dad and ask "are we riding the horses?" Just for his dad to have to tell him he won't be able to is so sad especially sense they traveled from Chicago to do so. We signed our waivers online for a $5 discount. The Good: This was the first time on a horse for our 6 year old and she is begging not to leave and to do it again. Our 3 year old rode double with me and we had a great ride. Our guide was Chuck and he was fantastic. The horses are well-trained and easy to manage even for novices. I'm not a negative review person but if I could give this place 0/5 stars I would. I decided to take my 10 year old daughter to this park and ride the horses. Upon arrival, I was surprised by the number of rats out, in the middle of the day. But it is a farm in a VERY populated area, so I shrugged it off. They weigh each person and match that person with a horse that can handle their size--100% reasonable. As we were standing in the loading area I was surprised how the staff had the horses crowded in one area, butt to butt, with the staff taking the horses up the middle. Felt unsafe for the staff and annoying for the horses because they had to shove horses out of their way to get through. But I thought- hey they know the animals better than I do so no need to be concerned. They really had to pull on the horses to convince they to come out of the shed, but it was 85 degrees. I was also surprised about how dirty the horses were. I grew up with horses so I understand the importance of grooming a horse especially under the saddle pad area. My daughter and I were placed on two sweet enough horses, until they placed another male horse next to mine. The horses began instantly biting each other and kicking each other. The staff new this horse did not get along with this group of horses because they had a staff member stand with him the whole time. The poor woman on this horse pleaded with the staff to spread the horses out or to put her on a different horse but they didn't listen. When everyone was done loading, they unhooked the horses and the tour began. We barely made it out of the gate and the horse in front of my daughter's horse kicked my daughter's horse, causing it to rear up and do several side steps. Thank god she had a year worth or riding lessons and was able to stay on the horse and control it; however this the caused the troublesome horse to get agitated and his horse and mine started kicking and biting each other. At that point my daughter and I were not going to risk our safety by staying on them for an hour like this and requested to return to the barn. The guide leader agreed. Of course they refused a refund- which is clearly posted. I did see the woman on the troublesome horse return to the barn too after ~10 minutes. This place is NOT for inexperienced riders - travelers beware. read more

Don't let the 5 Star ratings fool you. This place is disorganized. Big time. Short staffed. They should not sell what they can't provide. The lines are long to pay. Once you get to window they tell you that you need a waiver first. Really? So another line then another line to pay. $600 later I have armbands for a family of 7. No directions. Not one person tells you where to go or what to do. So we walk up to window and ask and they advise to head up the mountain to check in. We walk up to check in at atv and 2 hours later, we are still waiting for our tun. We were told we can not leave. So we sit and wait under this hot shed. Wait. Wait. Oh, and we got a horse adventure to do after this. So I'm guessing it will be more of the same disorganized crap. There are no refunds and if there were I would have left 2 hours ago. Don't waste your money. Update. 3.5 hours later we are still in line. Sent my son to office and we were given a refund. So again, don't waste your time or money. This place is a joke. read more

WORST PLACE!!! Do Not Go! We purchased our tickets around 1:00 pm. We were told to return at 3:00 pm, which we did. We were then told we'd be riding on the horses around 5:00 pm. Long story short - we didn't start riding until after 6:00 pm. It was pitch black; we couldn't see a thing. Our kids were scared. The ride, which was supposed to be around 1 hour, was cut short to less than 30 minutes. My sons horse attacked my horse, I was scared the entire ride. We had to guidance and could not see. Then they told me they were going to me me my money back and we have yet to get it. We felt robbed. read more

We were there during Spring break and it was insanely crowded. Zero social distancing or masks by employees. We stood in line at 9am, purchased tickets at 10a, and were told we had a 2.5 hour further wait for horse riding, which ended up being 4 hours! We went zip lining (3 line) which had about a 15m wait and the entire thing took about an hour. It's a good course for kids, not too long or high. However we had to wait until 2pm to be seated on the horses, another 15m until everyone in our group was seated and we began our 45 minute ride. The horses are beautiful, but they only have one guide leading 12 people, and it would be better if they had at least one more guide, especially as a couple horses didn't cooperate with the younger riders. Maybe try your luck during an off season or pay a little more and get a reservation elsewhere do you don't spend your entire day waiting for your ride. read more

Super fun! We did the ATV ride, zip lining, and horse back riding in that order. Arrived at 9am and left at 1pm. It gets packed quickly so listen to the employees when they recommend what to do first. Be friendly and they'll be friendly back and make sure you tip. You have some very nice staff at checkout but then at the stables we encounter a tour guide who was not willing to help out. I asked a questions and before I was done talking he walked out on me because I was asking too many questions and he had other things to do. I also waiting too long to check in and there was no one there just them laughing and talking. Plus some of the staff where notably sick yet still was there working getting close to people. This place gets a lot of business because it's really convenient to Pigeon Forge. But....I would skip it. There are much better places to ride. They seem very unorganized and unprofessional. We got there and signed in to ride. While we were paying, they got a call from a frantic rider, we could here them through the phone. They were on the trail and were left by their guide. They were lost on trail and didn't know where they were. She hung up and called the guide. The guide said they didn't leave anyone behind. She yelled at him that he did because she just got off the phone with them. She ordered him to go back and find them. He was still trying to argue that he had everyone, but clearly he didn't. Can he not count heads. It's not that hard. We decided to keep going anyway. We waited almost 45 min for the guide to tell us the group of 10 could not go out because it was to late. I can understand that, it's dangerous to ride at night, the problem was that the business office already closed. You would think it would stay open until everyone was back in. Not here. We did get someone to talk to us, but they could not refund money until the next morning because they already cashed out for the night. Really!!! Oh, I forgot to mention that the guide was trying to talk us into doing half the ride, but the catch was we couldn't be refunded half the money. He wanted to do half the work for all the money. When we talked to the lady about refunds she said he is not allowed to offer that and didn't know why he would say that. So you have a guide leaving multiple people on the trail and another guide trying to give half tours for full price. Theses people have no idea how to do business. They have zero control over the guides. It seems like everyone does what they want and nobody knows what anyone else is doing. read more

This was for sure one of my all time favorite vacations. We had great guides for both horseback riding and zip lining. Pops was our guide for the ride and it was a beautiful scenic ride through the mountainside. Pops kept the ride interesting with some amusing stories of his adventures of tourist. When it came to the zip lining, our guides were Travis and Dustin. There was never a dull moment. There were 8 in our group and everyone had a blast. This is an adventure I recommend for everyone to experience with these guys at the Jayell Ranch. We will be back for another go round In the future with other family members. read more

Such a great place for riding! We came with no reservation, all we did was sign a waiver and got paired up with some great horses! We didn't even need to wait for a bunch of people. Our guide took just the 2 of us. Sam was our guide and she was great at conversing and taking us on a great ride. I rode a horse named Billy (same name as my husband) and my husband got the big boy named Diesel. The guides were very knowledgeable and told everyone how to handle their horses. It was a really good time and it was not a bad price! It was 30 dollars a person to ride. It was a 4 mile ride so it was well worth it! We will definitely be back! Just be careful about the time of year that you go. We came the day before Christmas and it was super muddy. The guide told us that it had been that way since October. It really did not hinder our experience, but we certainly got dirty and slid around a bit. But hey, your out for a ride and that's to be expected! read more

What a experience. I normally don't ever leave reviews but I figured I would to save someone money. We rented a utv and what a nightmare! The thing wasn't running right at all. The guy riding with me had to get off five different times and help the tour guide as well as another guy in our group push it up steep hills, cause it didn't have the power to do so. It was overheating so not only did it not have power we where drenched in sweat the whole time from the intense heat rolling from the motor. Someone in our group mentioned to the guide about getting a different side by side to finish out our tour and he said no and we continued the ride. Absolutly horrible! No refund. No change in sided by side. Wouldn't ever recommend. read more

Went horseback riding with a group of 6 and atv riding with 2 people. Our tour guide was Sam was for the horseback riding. She did an excellent job we had no problems and was very personable to our entire group. The trail was easy to ride and the horses were well behaved. Now for the atv riding experience. My brother and our friend said it was hands down THE BEST thing they did in Gatlinburg. Their tour guide was buck and he took them all through the back roads tailoring the ride to their level as well as challenging the riders. Now writing this review all I keep hearing about is the atv ride and their tour guide buck. I will need to hit up the atv tour next time. Both rides happened simultaneously and took about 1.5 hours. It's nice if you have a big group who is split on what they would like to do. read more

Most disorganized place i've ever seen. one way in one way out. barley anywhere to park. cars having to back up into the busy road just so people can get out. have to do waivers online that nobody tells you you have to do only online. if you don't do it then you have to step out of the long line in the hot sun do the waiver then get back into the long and wait another hour. after that you have to get into ANOTHER line just to pay. after that ANOTHER line to finally do what you paid for. it took 30 minutes just to get out of the parking lot. one girl doing all of the work. so unorganized, such a mess. 100% do NOT recommend coming here. read more

The 6 line zip line tour is slightly more than the 3 line tour and is well worth the extra dollars. I went to another zip line course the day after this one and notable aspects of this course are as follows. Jayell Ranch has several VERY LONG (half mile), VERY FAST (50 MPH) zip lines. This is one reason why I will be back. The zip line tour is more of a "tree" course than a "mountain' course. there are some mountain views but it is mostly a tree top canopy tour. Our zip line guides, Rose and Randy, were very safety conscious and did a good job. They offer discounts if you book a package with their four wheeling tours. The 4 wheeling tours are guided (you get your own ATV) and offer just enough hill climbing, mud puddles and rough terrain to keep it interesting. The guide is there to keep you from opening the throttle and running into a tree. Our 4 wheeling guide, Nathan, was good also. read more

I doubt this place gets many repeat customers. Will probably not be around much longer. Place is not much to look at, dirty and very disorganized. We had filled out waivers online but had to stand in line #1 (the waiver line) to get a "white slip of paper. I asked how long it would be to ride a UTV and was told about 4-1/2 hours from the young blond lady at line #1. Let me add at this point there is zero social distancing, no masks anywhere and lines of people. I had my family wait by the car while I did the lines. I asked if we could be put on a list and come back when it was our time or if we would have to wait here the entire 4-1/2 hours. The blond lady said once you pay they will put your name on the list and you will be given a time to come back yet today. I was ok at this point. I proceeded to line number two. This line took at least 30 minutes for 2 groups to pay. I was the 4th group in line and stood there for 45 minutes trying to figure out why it was taking so long just to pay. There was a side show when another group was throwing a fit trying to get a refund because they hadn't been told their activity was a five hour wait until they had actually gone through all lines and were trying to get a refund. I should have left at this point but I had a lot of time invested in this (maybe that is part of their plan to keep people from leaving). The lady at line #2 informed me the irate group was wrong and it was more like a 2 hour wait. I asked her again if once I pay can I be given a time to come back instead of having to wait there. She said yes and then called to the "ATV" area on her phone to confirm the current wait (3 hours). I told her I was fine paying as long as I would be able to get on the list and be given a time to come back because I didn't want to have to wait there for hours. She assured me that was no problem. She took my money and made a photo copy of my driver's license and credit card (without asking if that was ok). Had me sign more waivers and consents and then pulled out a green paper bracelet and asked for my arm. Then she looked at me with the other 3 bracelets for the rest of my family in her hand and told me she needed them to come up so she could put on their bracelets. I asked her to just give them to me and I would make sure they put them on. She said "no, they will have to come up here so I can put them on". I told her I wasn't comfortable having them walk through this crowd of people (none wearing masks or social distancing) just so she could put on their bracelets since it really wouldn't matter what 3 people I was bringing with me anyway. We went ahead and went through with the formal bracelet putting on since I had already paid, but was not happy and the employee didn't care, just told me that was their policy. I asked her what time we needed to be back and she said "I'm not the one that is going to tell you that, you have to go up that hill to the ATV place and ask them, they are waiting for you". So we proceeded to go about 200 feet back to a barn on the top of a little hill. When we got there David asked for my name, had me sign a book and told me what his plan was to get the 3 pages of names out on ATV's that day and how busy they were. I told him that was great, what time did I need to come back. He looked at me like I had just grown antlers and repeated his plan of attack on his list. I told him that I had been told by the two lady's running the previous two lines that I would be given a time to come back. He said, "we don't do that" it could be 15 minutes or more than 3 hours, I can't give you a time. At this point I was not happy and told him I had apparently been lied to, he just said "ok" and folded his arms and then I got attitude back and he suggested I could just leave if I didn't like it. I apologized for being upset but asked him to work with me and just give me a time, he refused. I asked if he was the owner and he said he wasn't. I asked if the owner was nearby and he said no. He suggested if I didn't want to wait I could leave and go back to line #2 and ask for a refund. My family and I walked back to line #2 (my 7 year old slipped and fell 3 times on the rocks going down the slightly steep hill from the ATV barn). Eventually someone came to the window next to line #2, I told her that I had apparently been lied to according to David at the ATV place. Explained to her what had transpired and she said "there must have been a misunderstanding, they must not have understood your question" (no idea how I could have been any clearer to be honest). I didn't care to argue with her, she was at least pleasant and quickly returned my money to my credit card and we left. A total waste of time, I would suggest avoiding this place. Really not sure where these good reviews are coming from. Staff did not seem happy to be there, were not trained and were not good at their jobs with zero cares about customer service. read more

I don't even know where to begin. My friends and I wanted to go horse back riding on our last day of vacay. We got told about 3 hour wait so we left and came back. It started to rain which isn't anyones fault so we understood that the rain and thunder got too bad. The staff proceeded to leave a group of around 25 people out in the rain for over an hour. The staff changed into dry clothes and proceeded on with their day while leaving us all out there. We were drenched to say the least. They promised refunds which I still have yet to receive. We checked in BEFORE the zip line and were told the wait was 1.5 hours but if we hurried to the zip it would be great timing. We did just that, got off the zip and went to the horses. We were excited to see we were next in the groups. They said hang out in this play area. Well, we waited in the area they said. We paid attention while having a snack. We heard one name called, not ours. Then we went to check after 30 minutes (after the original 1.5 hours) and learned we missed them calling our TWO family names. There were 8 of us. When we gave our names we literally spelled one three times and one seven times. We tried to work with the guy running the list. He as not kind or understanding and yelled at us for not paying attention. Literally he was calling no ones name. We went to the cashier and received a partial refund. Several others were complaining and asking for refunds as well. This is not how you do business and was highly disappointing. Figure out a better system. read more

We got the horseback and ziplining package. Horseback was a lot of fun but could have been longer. The wait was not long and they have small ziplines and other cool things to entertain kids. The 6 lines of zipline were amazing and so much fun. You can save 5 bucks on each ticket and sign the waiver online. Signing online also helps to shorten the wait. Shawn and Rose were amazing on the ziplines and were helpful and super friendly. The bathrooms were neat and clean. We had kids age 7 to 11 and everyone had a great time. We finally get to the ATVs and have to wait 2 more hours due to the man lying about our time slot and allowing a group that had just arrived to go ahead of us. The man also was very rude and walked off in the middle of us talking. Never again! One of the most unorganized, filthy places I have ever been. Terrible experience. Just did the Zipline. Asked for the 6 course experience, girl wrote down 6 course experience, girl charged us for 3 course. Our 15 year old girls went by themselves and at the 3 course stop, they radioed down to see what course we paid for. Before we could figure out what happened, they sent them back down the last zip to beginning to un-harness. We went and talked to them and they said there is nothing they could do. I explained that we wanted 6, girl wrote 6 and we didn't know they didn't charge us for 6. The girl at the desk stated all she could do was charge us full price for another round. The whole point is they radioed down to ask but didn't take the time to let us or them get it all figured out AND they weren't even busy!! They had assistant manager at one of the stops and the girls said he was rude and smoking. There is plenty of Ziplines in the area, don't waste your money on these fools. read more

We got our tickets and headed to the zip lines to check it, we were told we were #23 and they hadnt even got to 12, so we sat for 2 hours before they told us to go check in for the horse back riding..stood in line for that for 30 minutes to be told we were #36 and they were on #14..Then, my husband checked his account and they put a hold on the card for DOUBLE what we paid. Needless to say that was the last straw, we got our money back and left after 3 1/2 HOURS of waiting..I suggest before you pay ask how long the wait is and if possible pay cash..but the staff was happy to refund the money and apologized repeatedly read more

My boyfriend, his two sons (age 6 and 10), and myself went horseback riding and LOVED IT! All 3 of them had never done it before, so they were a bit nervous. The guide, Dave, was very friendly and paid close attention to the kids. By the end of the ride, the 6-year-old was kicking his horse and making him trot! The views were beautiful and the horses were so well-trained that I wasn't nervous at all. The kids wanted to go again the next day because they loved it so much. The only negative was that the sign up and registration in the BLAZING HOT office took entirely too long. You can complete a waiver online beforehand (which I would suggest) but I wish they would let you book online as well so you could avoid the office time. However, after that was finally taken care of we walked right up to the stables and were on our horses within 10 minutes. Overall, a great experience! I had to cut my trip short, but the boys may return to do some of the other activities! read more

Disappointed is an understatement. The reviews were great so we were expecting great. We got there at 11:45AM got our tickets and immediately put our names on the list to ride horses. There was probably 15-20 people in front of us and were told the wait was an hour, no big deal so we go zip line. The guides begged for tips and kept talking to us about how they get paid by the day and need tips. I was going to tip until they said something to my group 4 times throughout the course. Not to mention our guides were arguing during the course...very awkward. After we finished zip lining we go back to check on our spot in line for horses and he tells us another 30 minutes...it's been well over an hour since we were told an hour. So we go grab a bite to eat and come back, another 30 minutes go by and we go ask hey, where are we at in line and he told us another 15-20 minutes. It is now 2:30 and we still have not been called to ride until we got back in line to get our refunds. If you plan on coming, make sure it's the only thing you have to do all day, because you'll be waiting all day. Very disappointed. Not to mention, as a horse owner I was very concerned with how much the horses were being over worked. They were covered in mud had not been brushed in God knows how long. We waited in line for one hour to sign up for ATV rides only to find out there was a 2.5 hour wait to be able to go on the atv and you could not leave the facility and come back. So if we had stayed we would have had to spend 3.5 hours just waiting. We left but an hour of our day was wasted. Overall the kids enjoyed the horse back ride but it was definitely less than an hour in length and pretty mediocre. It's pricey for what it is. We waited 2 hours which is hard with toddlers. It would be nice if they had some sort of an electronic queue or check in reservation system where you prebook and arrive at a designated time. No hot drinks available when we went so the kids were disappointed that they couldn't have cider or hot cocoa. read more
