The view is not much better as you can clearly see dusty, oily, outdated, clutter everywhere as it fills up an already small dungy would be sitting area filled with filthy boxes and a suspect coach. As you stand waiting to be greeted for a few minutes the owner who has been sitting in his corner office with a cigarette in hand paying no attention to his potential customer finally shuffles over with an unwelcoming scowl. Be warned, the old man (owner) is VERY RUDE and unabashedly UNPROFESSIONAL. Quick service! I understand that customer service can be low to some because of the language barrier but as an occasional customer they are really careful and honest in what they do. Came in for a tire repair and an oil change. I came in the morning for both services on different days. They open at 7 AM so it was perfect for me who needed to get in and out before work. They were quick and attentive with their service. Just drive in and let them know what's up with your car and they'll get to it. Our Honda Odyssey's battery died at LAX and the guy from the towing company said that we needed a new alternator. I was skeptical, so we just got a jump start and waited until we could get the car to a shop. Jay's was the closest to our house, and when one of their mechanics checked out our car, he said an alternator for our car was expensive and said that he would replace the battery first to see if we really needed to replace the alternator. It turned out he was right and that the battery was just bad. He saved us at least a few hundred by proving the towing guy's recommendation wrong! Thank you!! read more

I just randomly found this place on Yelp because I desperately needed an oil change. I hate seeing that little light that indicates that you are due for one. I got an oil change within 20 minutes, no wait. From reading the previous reviews, luckily, I didn't have a problem with any language barrier because the owner's son was available and he speaks fluent English. I will never be coming here again. I came to simply get an oil change during my lunch hour for my 2010 BMW 325i. While they were doing the oil change there was some type of miscommunication and someone forgot to put the filter in and they started the engine. I never knew oil could spew out of my car like that but it did. Then they had to wash it off with some chemical spray then power wash it. Because of what they did, the son of the shop ended up giving me the oil change for free. I left not as mad but then after work I got back into my car and the check engine light came on. So now I had to then go back to the shop for the 2nd time and ask them to reset my car. Now today I had to go back to the shop for the 3rd time because my car kept giving me a message saying my oil level was low. My car wasn't leaking oil so I figured the only thing it could be is that I need to top off my oil. When I got there the owners son was there and he remembered my car. I told him I kept getting an alert saying my oil was low. When we checked it he told me that he had to top it off because they ended up using SYNTHETIC BLEND NOT FULL SYNTHETIC!!!! Obviously I needed full synthetic it's a BMW it burns oil hotter! Don't even know if they deserve even 1 star but I will never be coming back here again. Don't go to this shop unless you want to make multiple trips back and forth to get something as simple as an oil change done. read more

I've been going to Jay Auto for 20 years. I've gone through 6 cars and Jay took care of all of them from my humble college car Nissan 240SX to my weekend toy, Acura NSX! From doing simple things like oil changes, brake jobs, factory scheduled maintenance, to big fixes like replacing water pumps and timing belts--Jay can fix them all. His prices are fair and does the job in a timely fashion. He is open M-Sat from 7am-7pm which is great and all I do is call him ahead of time to see if he has time to see my car that day. His busiest are Monday, Friday and Saturdays so I tend to stay away on those days. Best part is there are car rental places nearby so when I drop off at Jay's, I have one of them come pick me up and I can rent a car for the day. One time Jay couldn't readily find what was wrong with my car so he came in on a Sunday (his day off) to fix it. He eventually got it running again but that kind of loyalty and dedication sticks with you. Like I said, Jay is honest and fair.
