STAY AWAY -- DO NOT COME HERE! I stopped by this shop to get coolant for my A/C. The mechanic said he needed to check the coolant and required a $200 deposit, explaining that the amount would go toward whatever needed to be done and that I'd get any remaining balance back if it cost less. In the end, I was simply charged $200 just for coolant on my 2011 Mazda3 -- an extremely high price for such a basic service. I felt misled and definitely won't be returning. Made an appointment with him for an oil change. I told the mechanic about the check engine light notification on the dash and he said it was because of my oil not having been changed, so he cleared that notification, instead of the wrench notification. He made me aware of a radiator leak and sent me on my way. I went to a different mechanic and asked a friend who works at an aerospace company if radiator leaks are a cause of concern and they both said I need to repair it immediately. I have an appointment with another mechanic but I wish this mechanic would've let me know to be concerned. Maybe that's the way he communicates but it puts the customer in a horrible position if I didnt have others telling me the importance of this. read more

Came on a Saturday where not many auto shops are open. Thankfully, they were able to take me in to fix my car. Car not blowing cold air so needed them to have a look or just to recharge the freon. Eric mentioned the rear a/c wasn't really blowing cold air so they had to spend extra time to test and diagnose. He added it may be compressor problem. Since we're all in a time crunch (he closes at 3pm on Saturday), he only recharged the freon which was very low. This is 5 stars because of the service provided and the i really needed the cold a/c since we're driving long distance back to the bay area. read more

I arrived within 5 mins and there was at least 3 people working outside who made eye contact with me. I waited in front of the garages for about 5 mins and not one person greeted me. I called around to at least 6 other shops and they all hemmed and hawed with high costs and long waits (days) as they didn't have any in stock. (I'm a very busy person taking care of my dad who is going through stroke recovery and other things I do all on my own. So the fact I let the car go that bad is sort of embarrassing) I took my 2017 Hyundai Elantra to a repair shop close to my home because the car would stop in the middle of the road. They were unable to find out what was wrong and said everything was fine. Sure they got a wheel alignment done and some tires, but I knew that everything wasn't fine. Over and beyond what I expected it could be like to go to an auto mechanic. I recently purchased a used Honda Element and all the service records were not available. I was recommended by a friend to contact Mind Automotive and ask for Eric. I called and spoke to Eric and he gave me a basic rundown of what would possibly be needed, but that he would need to see the vehicle first (made sense). I took the car in around 5pm the same day and dropped it off so his guys could look it over the next morning. Next morning (today), I got a quote with everything that was recommended and a clear breakdown of the cost. I called Eric and he went over every detail. He advised on what was needed and what he thought was ok as is (super honest and upfront). I decided to go with an entire flush of all the fluids and some stuff I wasn't sure was done by the previous owner (transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, oil, coolant, leaky head gasket, spark plugs, frayed serpintine belt and a valve adjustment for slight noise). I okayed him to move forward and by 4pm the car was done. Eric sent me pictures of the dirty fluids, spark plugs and even replaced a missing battery tie down for free. I went to the shop around 5pm and spoke with Eric again. He went over all the work done and laid out a general plan on things that might be needed coming up. Paid, got my keys and left. Im not going to say I noticed a huge difference in the car, but thats the point. the car feels normal and peppy, but the peace of mind knowing everything was done by a professional is irreplaceable. I will 100% be back for all my vehicle needs to Eric and Mind Automotive. I highly recommend this shop. P.s. I have never been to this shop before, nor have I ever met Eric before yesterday. During COVID-19, it's great to support smaller businesses like this one. My (20 year old) car was having issues starting up, and my motorsport engineer brother (who's out of state) suspected the fuel pump. I took my car here on a Saturday and explained the situation. After about 30 minutes of inspection, they discovered the same issue as my brother and offered to let the car stay there over the weekend at no extra cost as they awaited the parts to come. The owner, Eric, was kind enough to explain that he would do his best to order the part as soon as possible, especially during COVID-19. He expected the part come early as the following Monday. Eric is legit. He was able to get a matching single TE37X for my FJ full size spare. Every other performance shop was only selling these as a set of 4. He was also able to quickly source a set of Volk Formula lug nuts and matching center cap. When installing the lug nuts, they didn't use power tools like every other tire shop. They hand threaded each nut and then used a torque wrench to finish it off. THAT IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE DONE! I was so impressed that I dropped off my FJ for a steering column replacement job along with installation of off-roading suspension components. This shop is easily worth the drive from Los Angeles. read more
