Stopped by Jay's Hoagies today and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the Italian sub Jays way, and wow... it was amazing! The bread was fresh and absolutely delicious with the perfect texture, and the creamy, slightly sweet Italian dressing paired with the pickle relish took the whole sandwich to another level. Every bite was packed with flavor! This is my new sub shop. Hands down the best. Jay was incredibly friendly, and we ended up chatting for a while. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in what he does. He started off selling in a food truck - then expanded. He's been at the Tulsa location going on 15 years. Delicious! My new favorite sandwich shop! Jay and Rob are great, and the sandwiches are thoughtfully made with perfect meat/cheese/veggie ratios. They build them in a way that nothing squishes out as you eat. The flavors are so good. It's a little hole in the wall type of place where you could sit and eat. I took my order to go, and it traveled well. Service was super friendly and I will absolutely go back. I'm so pleased! read more

Do not sleep on this place! I got the turkey and cheese 4-inch hoagie and it was scrumptious! I got it with all the fixings. Within five minutes I devoured it. Jay and the staff were so sweet and made my sandwich fast. An added bonus is that the walls are decorated with baseball photos! Despite Yelp techs stupidity, THIS is a separate location from the 91st Street location. This is located in the Advanced Autoparts parking lot. They don't have the extensive menu that the OTHER Jays brick and mortar location has but if you need your hoagie fix this is a more convenient location than deep south Tulsa to get it. There is a different number for calling in orders to the trailer than the number ON the trailer. Weather and help permitting they open 5 days a week for lunch at this location. If Yelp techs don't screw up this listing the proper number should show on this page. Not sure why Yelp techs ditched my 1st listing for this location. Both fully loaded with deli meat, vegetables, pepper jack cheese, salt pepper, oregano, and creamy Italian dressing. They were massive. Like two sticks of fire wood, packed with meat, fresh veggies and wrapped in fresh bread. I ordered and paid while sitting in the car out in front of the store. Jay's is a smallish sandwich shop in South Tulsa (91st & Sheridan). It's a family-run place and you'll likely see the whole family working there. You can order a 3, 6, or 12 inch sandwich, though they mentioned they just added an 8 inch option for those who want "a couple of bites more than the 6 inch sandwich allows." Their bread is either white or wheat, and is not made in-house, but it's very fresh. Many of the sandwiches are named after family members or perhaps friends so you'll have to read to find out what each one has on it. Nana's chicken salad is a family recipe that is being used to feed Tulsa. It's not a Waldorf Salad which contains grapes, walnuts, apples and maybe other things too. It's old-school chicken salad like my grandma used to make. It's simple, delicious and filling. Jay said the ingredients are basically chicken (chunks, not shredded), mayo, celery, and lemon juice - and you can salt and pepper to taste. I know I'm probably forgetting an ingredient in there, but it's just that simple. Oh, and I also added oregano. I HIGHLY recommended this sandwich. A co-worker that I went with sliced off a small portion of the Italian hoagie he got so I could try it too. It was definitely good, but the chicken salad is crazy good. Super good! You will notice most of the customers are regulars keeping this pace a hidden gem. If you like a cold cut this is the place. The bread is fresh and the meats and cheeses are fresh sliced in front of you. I usually get the monster but on occasion I'll get Nanas chicken salad. Funny and talkative owner. Delicious Sandwich! After one bite, you know they use fresh and high quality ingredients. I tried the Italian, and it was fantastic. The cold cuts were super tasty, sliced perfectly, and the perfect amount. One of Tulsa's best kept secrets! I try and get down to Jay's at least once a week, if not more... I love it for a few reasons, it's Local, Jay is ALWAYS there, and it's so fresh!! Key to a good sandwich (or Hoagie in this case) is the bread, and Jay's is on point!! Next comes the meat... sliced to order... next the toppings... personally I've never been a big fan of veggies or peppers, but there is just something about the way Jay builds his hoagie that they all just mesh together for a perfect sandwich!! Jay's makes his hoagies just like how you get back in Pennsylvania. He uses fresh bread that has the taste and texture that you would find in Philadelphia and surrounding communities. Upon ordering he takes the meats from the refrigerator and slices it right in front of you. He has a full compliment of veggies and choice of sauce. Our favorite is the Italian but there are many hoagies to chose from that you can get in various sizes: 4, 6, 8, and 12 inch. It is definitely worth trying and once you do you'll be hooked. While the inside of the shop itself is unimpressive, the sandwiches, excuse me, the hoagies, are fantastic. I don't know where the meat is ordered from, but it is definitely high quality. The toppings are fresh and include homemade sweet peppers (that are also a bit spic\y). The real treasure is the bread. Hands down the best sandwich, sub, hoagie bread I've ever had in this state. Don't know if it's baked fresh there or ordered from some magical far away land, but is hands down amazing. Offered in 4, 6, 8, and 12", the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality of product you are getting. Don't bother with mayo or mustard. I had lunch at Jay's today for the first time. It will certainly not be my last. Jay's offers Hoagies of all types and in standard sizes. I'm not sure what brand of meat Jay uses, but rest assured, it is of high quality. I had the Ally (Turkey and Salami). Two things in particular stood out for me at Jay's. 1.
