this experience was disappointing. We were never informed that a 15% gratuity would be automatically added to our bill. Only when it was time to pay did someone point to a small sign on the side , If an automatic service charge is required, they should put a large, visible notice at the front entrance and make sure customers are informed upfront . This is kinda weird.. no wonder why no customer inside but us food ok but ... never come back.

The fresh salmon slices have clear textures and shine with an orange-red luster under the light, just like a petal in the sunset. When the sushi is placed on the table, it looks like a delicate piece of art, quietly lying in the plate, waiting to be tasted.

Pretty good fish for a reasonable price. Anything salmon is your best bet for fresh tasting fish. The spicy Ahi was cubed and a little bit chewy. The bento was $13 with previously frozen fish. I don't agree with the 15% service charge for dine-in customers. At the register, I could not see the 15% service charge on my bill so I almost gave tip which would have been a double tip. No one is walking around and refilling water. There is a trash can for you to throw away your own rubbish so what service am I paying for? I would scrap the 15% service charge and tip 10% on my own if I could.

Love love love this place! Fair priced quality sushi. Nothing elaborate nothing fancy just straight forward sushi. The only thing I didn't care for is that they have a 15% gratuity already included with your bill if you dine in. I double tipped which kind of pissed me off.

What a sleeper foodie find - sushi, boba tea, and creative pastries all in one place. I stumbled across this place by accident, starving and looking for a quick lunch. I meant to get just a bento, but after looking at their display case I had to sample their desserts. The dining area was laid out well, and could accommodate a small Yelp gathering. The folks who help me were very nice, and I really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend if you're in the shopping center.

I'm surprised I haven't left a review on this place yet! As far as "fast and inexpensive" sushi places go, this spot is a convenient favorite! You can dine in if you want, there's plenty of clean tables to relax and enjoy sushi as soon as it's ready. Or they are fast if you want it to go (and it's made fresh to order). I love how they include a generous portion of fresh wasabi, not the inferior wasabi packages that other spots tend to offer. And they give a portion of ginger that's really tasty and fresh tasting (for pickled ginger that is). Most other fast sushi places do not go to this length. The ingredients in the sushi have good rice proportions, and the fish tastes fresh and delicious every time. I especially love their seared garlic salmon! Their specialty rolls are quite large too. I've ordered sushi platters before and it doesn't break the bank which I appreciate. If you want dessert, they've got that too! They have baked goodies like cakes (whole if you need one for a special occasion or by the slice), macarons, cake pops etc. They also offer a wide selection of homemade cookies with unique Hawai'i flavors in packages that make great take home additions or gifts. They don't serve alcohol, but they have a selection of inexpensive drinks and even boba teas. Service is always fast and friendly. There's plenty of parking, you can pick up other things in the same shopping center like fresh fruits/ veggies and other things if you're buying food for a large family and someone wants something other than sushi.

This quaint little spot is convenient, affordable and yummy. Staff is very friendly and attentive to customers that are dining in while tending to the customers coming in for takeout orders. We were pleasantly surprised at the variety of bentos and the delicious drink options. They also have alot of packaged snacks for sale like cookies and chicharron - which we regret not picking up. We will definitely be coming back to try other items on their menu.

I love that we can get sushi close to home now. It's located on dillingham right next to thangs smoothies, they are right on the corner so it's easy to spot. They have sooo much varieties of sushi to choose from and it ranges from $11-$30. I must say though that the rice is a little on the hard side. I would rather have it like sushi rice but it doesn't taste like it is. My favorite sushi to get is their ahi/ garlic salmon. So so good. The service is really good. They are super nice once you enter and are very patient with you. You may do dine in. They have a lot of seats for you to choose to stay and eat. They also have ac so that's a plus! Haha free parking right outside so don't need to worry.

Lots of parking available in this shopping center that shares many other ono places to grind. Upon entry, very clean place. a lady behind the counter asked how many and sat us. Took our drink orders. next we placed our food orders. we ordered 4 sets. my faves out of all of this was the salmon and the spicy ahi Inari. salmon was buttery and ono. the Inari was sweet, balance with the spicy ahi mayo. the price is cheap, quality is good.

2nd time here. At first this place looks good but its execution is a dud. It has potential to be way better. Ordered their best combo sushi set #33: Spicy Tuna Bomb, Unagi, Ikura, Salmon, Ahi, Ika, Ebi & Hamachi. The Ikura (Salmon eggs) were old and all shriveled up. The saddest Ikura I've seen in my lifetime and not fit to be served to customers. The nori on the Ikura sushi was rubbery and hard to bite through. The other sushi were ok but none of them notable. Their service sucks big time. On both occasions, had to wait a long time for someone to come out to the front counter to take my order. I could clearly hear 3 or 4 of them chatting in the back. Once one of them came out, they weren't very helpful in making suggestions from their huge menu of sushi and a variety of non-sushi goods like bakery goods like cake & cookies. The counter person just pointed at the menu, mumbled a few things and walked away for a long time before returning to take my order. The saving grace was the interior vibe looks inviting and there was ample seating. However, the ambiance was ruined when I saw a large cockroach crawl across the floor while I was waiting for my takeout order. If they stop using old food, did some pest management & stepped up their customer service, the potential for substantial improvement could be realized. I wanted to like this place but it's a no go for me.

Parking is easy. To find this place is easy. The atmosphere is great. Fishes and Knick knacks For the kids when u first walk in. The menu isn't as abundant as I would like but they have the necessary things. Good amount to choose from I guess. The prices are good for sushi in Hawaii. The taste is ono.. easy 5 stars. Good customer service. Food comes out fast. Do the price and quality I would highly recommend.

I'll start by saying that I absolutely love the food here. Five stars for that. I mean, have you tried their grilled garlic salmon? It's so good it could probably convince a lifelong vegetarian to reconsider their life choices. Seriously, it's delicious! Their rolls are good too. However, what I'm not as enthusiastic about is the time it takes to get your food. We waited a good half an hour today for our meal, and it was a to-go order with nobody else in the place. Déjà vu hit me hard because the same thing happened when I was here in April. Honestly, I have more success ordering from them through Uber Eats, which seems ironic, doesn't it? That being said, if you have the time to spare, it's definitely worth the visit. The customer service has always been friendly, which makes the wait a bit more bearable. On a sweeter note, they also have some amazing desserts. My new favorite? The Ube brownie. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out--it's a purple slice of heaven!

    Boba Milk Tea
    Debbie K.

Stumbled across this cute little cafe when we were looking for Boba Milk Tea. After a delicious lunch with my friends and we wanted something sweet, dessert. Located in the Kapalama Shopping Center, parking right out front. The place is clean and it was empty when we went there around 3 pm. We all ordered Boba Milk Tea and they had a bakery case with all these pretty desserts in it. We each ordered a different dessert so we could try each one. We ordered the Red Velvet Cake, Mango Mousse Cake and the Japanese Cheesecake. All are Japanese style desserts, which I enjoy as they are light and not real sweet. All were delicious!

There are meals one enjoys. Meals one admires. Meals one respectfully documents, notes the flavor balance of, and later describes using words like "elegant" and "well-executed." And then there are meals that rock your world. This was one of them. Kaiten sushi, or conveyor belt sushi, is a casual, affordable Japanese dining style invented in 1958 where plates of sushi rotate on a motorized belt passing diners, allowing them to select dishes directly. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, it's not the typical catwalk of pre-made maki rolls, nigiri, and other offering. You order off a kiosk and then it is fast-tracked to your table via sushi belt. Here at Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera, you are granted the ability to try their Edomae-style sushi for a more affordable price. Edomae-style sushi is a traditional Tokyo cuisine originating in the 1820s, featuring seafood, often cured, marinated, or simmered, served atop rice seasoned with red vinegar (akasu). It focuses on enhancing fish flavor through technique rather than just raw freshness, historically acting as fast food for 19th-century Edo residents. That said, dare I say the best meal I had during my stay on Oahu? I DARE! This was an excellent place suggested by Randy S. Most of the nigiri orders were only one at the price point I am used to paying for two and I prefer the experience of sharing. My husband at the other table sampled more than I did. Deep fried Octopus and Toro, I had Yellow Tail and Carpacio, sample two rolls. Big surprise, the French fries were outstanding. The check worked out to about 50 pp. I think that was mostly my husband who enjoyed an array of dishes. As mentioned in other reviews, the bill stacks up quickly. We are staying at the hotel, Prince Waikiki, and based on the rave reviews, we expected a flawless, high-end meal. While the restaurant looks clean and accurately mimics a true Japan dining atmosphere, the kitchen execution and lack of basic customer service completely ruined our celebration. My husband ordered the Yokozuna set and 2 Kanimiso Gunkans, and I ordered the Ozeki set (we both substituted our Ikura, and he got the Big Shrimp). While chewing his premium Toro, my husband hit a massive fish bone. It was huge, a legitimate, dangerous choking hazard. For a restaurant charging top-dollar for high-grade tuna, a bone of that size getting past a sushi chef is completely unacceptable. When my husband showed the bone to our waitress, she just casually said she would "inform the chefs." That was it. No manager ever came over, no one apologized, and they didn't even adjust our bill. We were forced to pay full premium price for a dish that nearly choked my husband. The pacing was completely mismatched. My husband's food arrived almost immediately, but my Ozeki set took an incredibly long time to come out. Because he didn't want to start eating without me on our first date, his sushi just sat on the table getting warm. The kitchen was running painfully slow, which made no sense because the restaurant wasn't even fully seated yet. Just that little moment left a bad impression and would have been worse if my husband choked. I honestly could have just went to genki sushi, never gotten bones in my fish there. Overall, sushi was good but not something to rave over. to pay that much for sushi I was expecting more, and this fell flat.

After walking around, the hostess asked if we had a reservation. I gave her my name, but she said we didn't have one, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. She then explained that our reservation was actually at their sister restaurant around the other side of the building. We went over there and found that it was primarily a sushi restaurant, which wasn't really what we were looking for. We had expected more of an izakaya-style experience, so we canceled the reservation and returned to the original restaurant. Once seated, the service was good and our server was attentive throughout the meal. One thing that was a little confusing was that sushi and sashimi had to be ordered from the sister restaurant, even though we were dining in the other restaurant. The food was brought over and served to us without any issues, and there were no problems with the bill, but it took us a while to understand how the two restaurants operated together. We ordered several dishes, including chicken skin wrapped gyoza, crab tempura, an assorted sashimi platter, a cream cheese and fish roe appetizer served with toast, an egg dish topped with fish roe, chicken karaage, and the miso butterfish. The highlights for me were the chicken karaage, miso butterfish, and gyoza. I enjoyed them enough to order another round of the gyoza and chicken. That said, many of the dishes leaned toward the sweeter side of Japanese cuisine, which just isn't my personal preference. If you enjoy those flavors, your experience may be different. Overall, the food was good, the service was solid, and there were a few standout dishes. The confusion with the reservation, entrance setup, and relationship between the two restaurants got the evening off to an awkward start, but the meal improved once we were seated. I'm not really a Japanese food person, so four stars is probably the highest rating I could realistically give a Japanese restaurant. With that in mind, I thought they did a good job, and there were a few dishes I would consider ordering again.

I would recommend the $150 lunch omakase - I don't think the $50 abalone dish was worth the upgrade.

Every piece of sushi was beautifully presented not overwhelming. You can really tell the chefs put a lot of thought into the balance of flavors and textures. One of my favorite bites was a sashimi piece topped with something that looked like finely grated cheese (not sure what it actually was), but it melted perfectly with the fish and added a really unique savory flavor. The chefs and staff also had a good sense of humor. At one point they served kinki fish and jokingly explained that the English translation sometimes gets called "idiot fish," which got everyone laughing at the counter. The omakase is definitely on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and overall experience made it very satisfying. If you're looking for a refined sushi experience with great service and beautifully crafted bites, this place is worth the splurge.

DOMO Café, you do NOT disappoint! Domo's Kahala location has quickly become our go-to, grab-and-go…read moresushi joint. Although they have a clean and comfortable space for dining in, we regularly stop by after church or on the weekends for something to savor at our favorite park. Seriously, it's easy to enjoy their bowls, sushi sets, or bentos anytime and anyplace. We've got a passion for this place. Here's how this love affair started...I discovered Domo when a friend invited me for some sushi and sips at her place. I was amazed at the beautiful platter of sushi that accompanied our sake and wine. My friends are the best hosts! I devoured the bombs, nigiris and rolls (in between sips!). Everything was simply delicious! Fast forward a few months, I order a couple sushi sets to host a poolside, golden-hour birthday get together at my other friend's home. (I know, you want to be part of this squad, right?!). Anyway, using the online order system is a snap! My hubby went in to pick up the sushi and said they were slammed but our sushi sets were ready to go. This time we ordered some ikura because the hubby and my bestie are big fans. Both agree it was fresh and fantastic! And the garlic set with the flash-seared fish and a hint of mayo is a MUST-try. We also ordered a California roll for my friend's aunt who is not really a sushi fan. She delighted in several pieces and even enjoyed the nigiri from the garlic set. Total convert! After enjoying the platters and sets, we had to try the bentos and bowls. This time it's just us and the pup at the park. The bentos provide a great variety and comes with miso soup. The hubby really likes the shrimp tempura with ahi and salmon nigiri and ahi poke. It's a steal at less than $20. I'm a bowl girl myself and like the spicy tempura. The tempura is cooked crisp yet tender. The spicy ahi poke combined with the creamy crab salad and the crunchy ocean salad delights all my tastes buds. It's truly an adventure in finding the perfect bite--and there are so many in this bowl! I also love the seared salmon bowl. It is melt-in-your-mouth goodness. I add the fried onions for some texture. You know a place is top-notch when you can feel confident that anything off their menu will satisfy your cravings. Because this is a Yelp review, here are some helpful tips. For sushi platters, pre-order. The online system is simple to use. Service is fast and efficient if you're just walking in for a quick bite or to grab something to go. Parking has always been easy for us to find in the small lot in the complex where Domo is located. It's right next to Assagio's Kahala. But if you're worried about parking, I suggest ordering in advance and then just picking up. This works great during peak dining hours. If you want fresh, delicious sushi that is reasonably priced be like us and visit Domo Café. You will probably also be like us and want to go back to try more.

The garlic salmon didn't have too much smokiness which I liked. They are not stingy when filling the inari with the spicy ahi. I did online ordering for easy pick up since the parking lot can be filled during dinner rush.
