My wife and I got the roast beef and shrimp poboys, which were exceptional in taste. I will get them again, but it's still not my favorite shrimp or roast beef poboy. I got the food to go and noticed that the restaurant was empty. I wouldn't mind going back and sitting inside due to the small town feel of the restaurant. I ordered here for lunch for the first time. I did not know it was around the corner from my job. I ordered a crawfish Poboy with fries and a muffuletta with fried mushroom.. Little place hidden in this area with little sign, but was able to find it. Nice place and the food was simple looking but with great taste. I was able to scarf down the 'large' roast beef sandwich. It had light but crispy and flat, toasted bread. I was done with the sandwich quickly but still felt hungry, so I ordered 1/2 of Jazz special. It was good, but it tasted pretty much same as the roast beef and didn't have much meat in it as the menu claims. Overall, Jazz po-boy is pretty good place with good po-boy but I would not go back as I would need 2 orders to full. I just didn't get the satisfaction with $10 sandwiches. Beware aware that the evening hours listed are apparently inaccurate.. I arrived about 5:30pm today, which is 4/5/23, a Friday. The place was closed. Disappointing since I anticipated they were open until 8:30pm as Yelp states. the photos here were still here.. from my first visit a few months ago, but I never got around to writing a review so they didn't post. I had a craving for a roast beef poboy again, and recalled that the au jus was flavorful, and the roast beef tasted freshly made. The poboy bread was good quality also. The only issue was how lacking the meat was on the poboy ..about 2/3rd less that what you normally get elsewhere, but the savory flavors make up for it, albeit I too was still a bit hungry after finishing. Apparently after reading other reviews it is a common complaint here, but I'm sure if asked they can double it, for a few bucks more, and again the home cooked flavor makes it worth coming back for. I'd like to try more of the food here, based on the roast beef poboy alone. Maybe it's just a lunch spot.. and that's understandable, but I count on Yelp for these type details on restaurants. read more

Been eating here occasionally for 10 yrs. Original owner Mr Jerry would've been embarrassed to have this sandwich served in his place. No tomato though I was told it was included, some lettuce was old & wilted, but main issue was the minuscule amount of ham & roast beef. Didn't come close to covering bread w/meat & was only 1 layer where there was meat. $8.75sandwich w/ less than $1 of shaved meats. I was so excited to try this neighborhood spot, but left disappointed. The waiter was extremely nice and welcoming, but the food was mediocre at best. We visited on a Friday evening and ordered the shrimp poboy and burger. Both were served on paper plates, which is not the end of the world, but unexpected. The poboy was tiny. We also ordered tots with cheese -- quality was about what you can expect making it at home. My hubby ordered the soup, which unfortunately lacked flavor. The atmosphere was cozy. I always get a plain (bread and meat) Roast Beef Poboy with gravy/French Dip and a side order of Mozzarella Sticks. The food here is reasonably priced, if not a bit on the expensive side, and refills here are complimentary. The food is ready really fast, and I've never had an incorrect order. The owner works behind the corner and is extremely personable, and he will surely remember your usual order if you come here enough. I really like Jazz Daddy's. It is in a rather elusive spot, and those traveling southbound on Jefferson Highway may miss it as the shopping center faces the other direction. Their best item is easily the shrimp poboy--I am not exactly sure how they cook the shrimp, but they are not greasy or full of batter. It is as if they boil the shrimp first and then dust them with a little batter. Regardless of how they cook it--it works well (maybe a little too well)! Jazz Daddy's doesn't really offer anything you cannot get at another Louisiana sit-down restaurant or sandwich shop, but they do an excellent job with the items they have. It doesn't get a lot of business (at least in the evening), but it seems to do well enough with takeouts and, perhaps, at lunch to survive. read more
