We had Amber Air install a new complete Forced Air Heating and A/C system in 2010. We had them service our unit over the years. Getting a service call became harder every time we called . We were told that we're too far away(14 miles). I asked them if they went to Temecula and Murrieta and they said yes (25 miles???). I called for service on our thermostat acting up on 1/12/24 and was told they could come on 1/31/24??? Over two weeks out! Called for a diagnostic on my air system for my home. A guy from Rizzo air came within 2hrs & within only a few min said I need 2 brand new capacitors for $300 each.. That's $600 total! I told him I need a second opinion, so he charged me $75 to come out. I advised him that nobody advised me of this charge, he argued that they definitely did when I know they didn't. I was adamant that they didn't, so he disregarded the charge & left me the quote for $600 I called Amber Air, which came out within 30 min & they did explain the fee of $65 to come out, they also did a proper diagnostic. Wired one unit correctly & replaced only one capacitor.. Not two! For $159 per capacitor!!! Not $300!!!! They also replaced all three filters in my home so my air flows smoothly.. As usual we get hit with a massive heat wave, and our AC unit goes on the fritz. Triple digit heat, and window a/c, just doesn't cut it. We called Amber Heating and Air Conditioning and a few days later our technician Tyler Spinner came to the house, middle of the HOT HOT day. (During these heat waves, these folks are swamped with calls) He was very professional, polite, DIDN'T WASTE TIME, and clearly knows his stuff. He did a thorough inspection and within 5 minutes found the problem (thermostat on the blink) He quoted us a very REASONABLE price, and got to work right away. I like to rate a company based upon how they handle a customer problem after the work is completed and the bill has been paid. In this case, Amber Air really earned the five stars. Here is the brief version of the story: Our central A/C started only blowing hot air. I called Amber Air and Joe and Tyler promptly came out to our house. They identified that the coolant level was flat and found a leak in the evaporator coil (a major, expensive repair unfortunately). The next day Joe gave me a written quote for a new coil and we scheduled the work. A couple of days later, the guys returned and made the repair. The system was charged and appeared to be working great - actually it ran better and blew colder air than when we first bought the house. I paid and the guys left. A few days later, the system completely stopped working. Of course this happened on a hot day/night. I called Amber Air the next morning and spoke to Joe and explained the problem. The guys came back out within an hour and fixed an additional problem without further charge. If you're looking for an A/C repair company that will stand by its product/repairs, I highly recommend using Amber Air. Joe and Tyler were great representatives for this company. read more

They got Todd out here and he was able to find issue. He had to order the parts, that was expected, and Tyler came back to complete the work. I had an entire system put in in 2012 and yesterday the power went out in The Farm and when it came back on my thermostat was out. I called them for a maintenance(non-emergency) request, to which they promised but no one showed up at all- no phone call, nothing! I called them the following day to give them another chance any yet they managed to outdo themselves again. They once again didn't show... I called them yet again and they swore they did show. The garage door was open, I was home all morning- no one showed. The company obviously doesn't care about the customer. They were given the opportunity multiple times to make this right and failed. We wanted an honest evaluation of our HVAC system. Even though our system was installed new in 2010, we didn't feel that it was performing as well as it should have been. Tyler walked us through what we had, what we had done ourselves and what he saw as trouble areas. He was honest, informative and very thorough. About ten years ago Amberair replaced my air conditioning unit. Everything has worked great since then, at the time the main installer said that our duct work was poorly designed and would need to be replaced eventually because the wrapping was starting to crack allowing its insulation to separate. I needed to work in my attic this winter and saw that we had several areas with bad ducts. We called amberair in to do the job. They designed the ducts so that two large ducts branched into smaller and smaller ducts to reach the vents. All of it was built on our driveway, and we couldn't beleave how long and complicated it was. They brought in a big crew and they were very professional and did the job in one day using eight workers. They cleaned out all the old equipment and cleaned thoroughly, and adjusted everything to get it working perfectly. Since the owner of Amber Air is not happy with my review. I will amend my review to stipulate that my rating is based solely on their pricing and not level of service. I contacted seven companies, last year, to diagnose my HVAC system. Four of the companies actually came out to look at the system, two could not get me on the schedule and I decided not to have Amber Air come out due to their pricing and the amount of time the other companies spent looking at the system. Every company other than Amber Air charged a flat rate between $65 and $80 for the service call and the four companies that looked at the system spent more than a half hour looking at the system. All of the companies I called had good Yelp reviews except for 1. When your pricing is seventh out of seven, I don't think that is competitive or "inline". read more
