I received an email and a response, followed by an appointment request from Ben very quickly. He was very friendly and easy to talk to. The day of the appointment, Daniel showed up not only on time but early and ready to work. He was very knowledgeable and examined asked me what my concerns were to understand the situation. Then he asked me to show him the locations in question. I pointed him to the mold, and he took his time, carefully inspected the areas, photographed the areas, and explained to me what he was finding, in non-scientific terms, potential causes, and the dangers. I showed him some mold I was growing in petri dishes, and he explained what I had, and I knew right away I had hired the right company. He was not in a rush and answered all my questions making sure I was 100% satisfied. We had him take air samples of several rooms, and once the air reports came in, he reviewed the reports with us, answering all our questions, explaining the different types of molds, reasons, and causes. Anyone can go to school and get a degree or training, but it is so hard to get this level of customer support these days, and I would highly recommend it. First of all, I appreciated how quick and easy it was to get the inspection appointment set up with Gadget Home Inspections. During the actual inspection I was amazed at how thorough Jeff was. (I even shared our results with many family members, and everyone also commented how thorough of a job he did!) Then during the walk-through towards the end of the inspection he answered all my questions with no hesitation. I know nothing about home repairs or what causes certain things, so I just wanted to have a better understanding of the things he was recommending. I felt like I was a nuisance with all my questions but he was so knowledgeable and patient with me. I truly appreciated it! After the inspection he sent us an electronic version of our report. It was nice to have a picture and notes with all of his recommendations. Also, there's a feature in the report that you can easily create a Request List of all the recommendations that you'd like to bring forward. It made things so easy for us! To top it all off, there was an area that Jeff wasn't able to access at the time of the inspection. They plugged in a washing machine that was specifically stated to not work and not be included in the sale of the home, and attempted to get it running, then LEFT it on when they left the house, so I came home to a broken washer making loud grinding noises and rocking back and forth (had been left this way for several days.) And the kicker is that the guy tracked mud all over my house AND used my bathroom and left the toilet seat up! (During the radon test installation - not during the inspection - he should not have even been in the bathroom let alone leaving the SEAT up. Yuck.) We were told the roofers would use an elevated collection bin for the roofing to avoid damaging the landscaping and surrounding area. Didn't happen. Roofing was completed, driveway and landscaping were damaged. Asked about the schedule for siding, gutters and additional building. No answer. Month later part of the side was done, the contractor loaded up the remaining new box of siding and left. Notified Prominent immediately what was happening but nothing was done. Hired a lawyer who sent a letter to Prominent but neither him or I received a response. My attorney said for me to "keep track of every call/text/email". Two months later the remaining wall was sided but not without damaging our water feature in the landscape. The gutters were to be completed just a couple days after the siding but didn't happen for another two months. We had seamless gutters and the replacement gutters were apparently seamless but used prefabricated corners which created seams. Not what we had. Took another month before addressing the additional building. Well over 50 text/emails and over 40 calls in order to get the job done. Lots of no answers, misinformation, and extreme frustration.
