when I tell you do not come to this place DO NOT ever come to this establishment! these people are SCAM artist and liars. I went in for a routine oil change. They held my car hostage for hours and then proceeded to lie and say that I needed a transmission flush and fill & AC coolant which would be around over $900+. However, I knew that this information was incorrect. I left immediately and took it to a reputable mechanic and also my dealership. Both which said I do not need any of that right now for my car & the price is extremely high and everything was fine with my car. These people will do anything to make money off of a car that does not need certain type of work. I wouldn't even be surprised if they damaged your car and then told you that it needs to be fixed. My car was idling rough. I went in to have evaluated . The car was kept there for 2 days. I was texted that the problem was fixed & I could pick it up. I was charged close to $ 500 for the repair. As I left I could feel the car was running exactly the same as it was when I dropped it off. I stopped by the next morning to let them know that the problem wasn't resolved . They told me I could leave the car there for further diagnostics. I definitely didn't want to leave my car there again. I ended up @ a trusted family mechanic who was able to diagnose & fix the problem. I have called JB Automotive @ least 3 times & they refuse to return my call. Very sketchy ....I would stay far away from this place! read more

Back in January 2025, I was told I needed transmission fluid exchange & coolant flush - (which I did) - and would cost: Transmission fluid: $350 Coolant flush: $260 Total: $648.13 (with tax) I only went in for an inspection sticker (which I passed), and couldn't afford to get those 2 services done at that time. A little while later, I went to Sullivan Tire to get them done: Transmission fluid: $279 Coolant flush: $149 $10 off coupon Total: $444.13 (with tax) So, in the end (with tax), I ended up spending almost exactly $200 less at Sullivan Tire. Both services are guaranteed for the next 60,000 miles, too. I can't understand how JB Auto literally wanted to charge $200 more for the EXACT same services. That just seems insane to me! Prices aside, they also hound you there; constantly making it a point to tell you, "we're not those type of guys that try to screw you over..., etc." And proceed to explain how/why they're legit and not trying to upsell or oversell you anything. They say, "we even take you under your car and show you exactly what we find/don't find so it's all transparent." Blah blah blahhh. I had even asked them NOT to do a *free* full body vehicle checklist, (bc I was only there for inspection sticker), but they did it anyways. I was there for almost 3 hours, too. Which, the wait time.. it happens. I'm not even bothered by that, really. But the incessant need to tell you multiple times (from the second you walk in), how straightforward and "legit" they are and how they're not "one of those scamming auto shops," is just so obnoxious. (And apparently a red flag). Then, they call you the next day and ask how your car is doing, and to leave a review. And text you. And email you. I didn't have a clue what those kind of services would cost at any shop, so, I didn't even realize how much more expensive JB Auto was until way after-the-fact. Was quoted 200 - 300 dollars for a repair to remove and clean "crystallization" from the wrong diesel fuel additive. Then received a text quote for 3,900. The rep was completely dishonest about the verbal quote for 2 or 300 and stated it was for a tech for the day to go through all of the service codes. The reps name was Paul. At least 1 representative is deceitful and predatory. I do not recommend this establishment. read more

I do not recommend this car shop at all. I went in for an oil change and later found out they didn't even put oil in my car. That is very dangerous and careless. I was told my manifold was replaced, but it clearly wasn't. There was no new heat shield installed, and the manifold sensor was original. When I questioned it, I was met with arrogance rather than accountability. This felt less like honest repair work and more like fear-based upselling. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. if you're looking to get your car inspected / a new inspection sticker; and are specifically a woman, stay as far away from this place as possible. I went in hopes of getting mine (my car has never failed an inspection) and they failed me for my tail lights not lighting up when the breaks are on. They rejected me for that, telling me that it's an automatic fail and that they have absolutely no say over it and blamed it on the state. They were going to charge me $500 to fix something that didn't even need a repair. I got a second opinion and found out it was just a blown fuse, and an easy fix that I didn't even have to pay for. Went to a different place and they gave me an inspection sticker without a red R which is what this place did (basically telling the police to pull me over because this car is unsafe to drive) when that was not the case. They were going to rip me off, someone who does not have the money for this and I was even in tears about it and the guy acted like he actually cared and wanted to help Me. so I actually think they were very professional and friendly. However, i noticed a bit saleszzzzy on the front end. they told me 30-40 minutes for a "TNC inspection". I just bought a car and was thinking about who to make my primary shop. an hour and a half later for a 20 mins inspection! they didn't say they were going to mess with my car for an hour before doing thr inspection they said they could take right away! bleeding my transmission fluid to say I need to spend $350, showing me a dirty AC filter which I replaced 4 months ago. yes all AC filters get dirty. liked the service to start, don't like the lying to try and sell something. be straight up and stop pretending you are doing the quick thing I came in for while you try to find something! I could have came a time I had appt to let you all try to find things wrong with my car. this wasn't even a State inspection. TNC inspection for potential drivers. I missed and had to cancel a client meeting cause this "story". While they were playing let's get an attachment of service and parts... Why not be honest about your intentions and earn me for life instead of quick hit nickel And dimin. think relationship not transactional mind. Also I asked they leave me a list and I would review and come back... I was considering this even though I didn't like the approach. hey if I need it than we can plan when is ideal. they said they will, nothing in the car never came to talk again guess it was better what I needed to fix isn't on paper for me to Consider since I'm not doing today... transactional... 30-40 mins turned into 1:39 mins and they literally took 16 mins once they started doing the inspection.. Dont waste your time. Rodents had chewed my wifes Honda CRV wire harness apart so i had it towed to them, they quoted the wire harness and labor for almost $13,000(luckily insurance paid) but they had the car for a month and they called and said its ready and when i went to go pick it up, the mechanic started it up and every single light on the dash came up which is what had happened when i tried starting it not knowing the wires were chewed apart. They cleared the codes but the air bag sensor was on and i had returned the rental car so i had to take our car home and they said i could take it back and they would fix it. So i took the car back a week later and they charged me $950 for them to fix the sensor which was never there before this issue with the wires. They tried saying it couldve been there before yet if it was i wouldnt have had an up to date sticker that i had gotten 2 months prior. Bunch of thieves and huge scam. read more

My car was making a horrible racket so I looked online for places near me that would give me a free diagnosis and estimate prior to the work being done in case it would be more expensive than I wanted to spend on my old car. I found JB Auto Care in Weymouth, which had great reviews, and dropped it off later that day, asking if there was a charge for a diagnosis. I was told no, they only charged if I decided to get the work done there. The next morning they texted a me video of the problem (which I thought was very cool) and asked me to call after I reviewed the video. To my surprise it was going to cost $1,970. My car is only worth $2,600 according to KBB. They offered all sorts of payment plans and solutions but I wanted to wait and decide if it was worth the repair. Ten minutes later the same gentleman called me back and said, surprise, they could now do it for $1,470. Huh. That's great, I said, but let me pick it up and possibly bring it back later. About a half hour later I got another call from another gentleman, maybe his supervisor, who was chipper at first as he repeated all the different payment options and even suggested not realigning my tires after the repair to reduce the cost. I told him if I decided to make the repair I needed to wait a couple weeks for my check to come in, at which time he became very aggressive, stating: "We can forget the realignment which would bring the price down." "Why did you even bring it in if you weren't planning to have the work done?" [because I didn't expect it to be so expensive] "Do you know how much work we put into finding the problem and you're not even going to do the work here?" [I said the man I spoke to specifically stated there was no charge for the diagnosis and even reassured me of that when I dropped it off." "This is a dangerous repair and I can't let you leave driving this thing." [I only live a few miles away and I can have it towed back if it breaks down.] He grumbled something and then abruptly hung up. Yes, that was JB Auto Care in Weymouth. UPDATE: I brought my car to my son's mechanic who did the job for $504, who also said alignment after this repair was not even necessary. I asked for the battery fuse to be changed. The advisor had no idea I had one after the whole process. Got a alternator,got a starter,then apparently that didn't work,they replaced battery fuse for Nothing. When I brought in Attorney Generals office they declined putting in battery fuse So if alternator wasn't fixed and then start up wasn't fixed they came back and did a battery fuse for nothing oh thank you so much liars stay far away from them piece of s*** cost me $1,700. And when they asked what they could do for me to make it better they did not even acknowledge what I had emailed and I was told they have 900 cars in there and they cannot call you and let you know how your car is doing every time I called got a different person could not tell me what was going on until my husband called and got pissed off and I started calling him liars liars liars stay away from this place. read more

Go anywhere else, for real. Long story but deceitful, liars, and only out to rip you off. You're asked to leave a review on their site after your visit and I shared my story there. The owner/founder replied calling me inaccurate and stating their was miscommunication. I am not inaccurate nor was there any miscommunication. The owner seemingly suggested I found numbers on the Internet that are inaccurate, I didn't Google anything, it was an exact quote from somewhere else I heard grinding and went in for brakes. After dropping it off I was called and told I needed all new brakes and rotors and the cost was $1600. I immediately called another reputable location and was quoted less than half. When I called back I was told verbatim "sorry that was a new guy reading off a price matrix, would $1100 work for you." They repeatedly told me that this price was because of their warranty when I was quoted the same warranty for hundreds less. So, I take my vehicle to another location and I'm told.......the front brakes still have half the pad and the rotors only had minimal rust. $359 to replace my rear brakes and nothing more instead of getting disgustingly ripped off by a terrible place of business. Saved myself $1250 with a quick call to an auto shop that isn't trying to gouge. read more

Owner in building and never came to speak to me despite service rep request. I was spoken to like a toddler by a service rep not involved in any way with transactions. Being offered multiple apologies for short fallings was the only thing offered. Front service guys offered no alternative from the manager or owner. Run away - Took $800 hit for their mistake. They either lie through their teeth or show ZERO sense of responsibility. They replaced all my plastic valve caps with "metal" ones without my knowledge, as some of the plastic caps were missing. Now, none of those four metal caps would come off, and I have to pay $800 to replace the TPMS valve stems. They denied ever using metal caps and refused to split the cost of the repair with me. They also lack professionalism. At first, the owner's son, who oversees the managers there, agreed to split the cost and asked me to wait while they fixed the issue. But a few minutes later, they changed their tune and said they never carried metal caps and won't share the cost. I have been a loyal customer of this shop since 2021, but I can no longer recommend them. Find someone who cares for their customers. Don't believe their replies - "we don't have xxx in our database", "we offer price match, 36 months warranty" blah blah blah. All the negative reviews you see are true, if you still wanna go, you deserve to be ripped off. Read through the negative reviews, they even ripped off their own ex-employee "Jay Pinto" - search for his 1 star review on Google reviews. So what stops them from ripping YOU? read more

I went there to get an estimate for exhaust system, I go in there and they greet me, show me the bay area where they do repairs, manager introduces himself and make it seem like they're the best with the best prices. NOT AT ALL, I was quoted a price that is more than what my car is worth. I denied the service and then they attempt to sell me one tire for $200! i DO NOT RECOMMEND JB auto to anyone that wants any service done. Beware of this place. Dishonest hours worked . Charged 2 hours for 1 hour of work at $200 an hour. Went to pay with cash and I was told "This isn't the 90s. No cash" Work was done half ass and I can't be sure they actually changed my oil. Couldn't be bothered putting air in my 4 tires that were low and with the light on. My husband and I started bringing our vehicles to JB Auto when we moved to Weymouth 8 years ago. We have always been pleased with the service we have gotten. The service team keeps us updated on the status of repairs. They text us and send photos of things that they find. They always ask us before they add services that need to be performed. JB AUTO charged me for an oil cooler line replacement for $1300.00 and in the process broke a piece of my upper oil pan which did not fix the oil leak and is now an estimated a couple thousand dollars to fix. They won't admit they broke it by using an aftermarket part that probably didn't fit. But of course, they won't admit it. Please AVOID this place and always ask for photos on what they will be fixing BEFORE they fix it, and photos after they fix it. Also, don't deal with Nat. I'm surprised to see some of these bad reviews. Just had my car repaired today and Gissepie (not sure that's how he spells it) went about and beyond to save me money. Cheaper than other shops and close to what a friend of mine would have charged me but the gas and time I would've wasted the convenience of JB auto was worth it. I'm very particular of where I take my vehicles on and if I hear a price or recommendation that I don't like I just walk away.
