The owner is extremely unprofessional, unorganized, unreliable, rude, and careless. We hired him to refinish our radiators in the entire unit. The owner gave us a date of completion, that date came and passed, he never communicated with us. When I politely called for an update he threatened me stating "If I don't like it I can go somewhere else". Even though he had all of our radiators already. Then after much time past the date I was quoted for install, he calls us for delivery within 24 hours. We waited and waited for him, no response. He then shows up some time in the evening acting like nothing happened. He and his crew start installing them and the owner forgot to pack the leveling discs and the air vents. He tells me the customer later that night to go to home Depot to buy the leveling discs for him in order to finish the install. He doesn't reimburse me for my time of doing this to help him out. Then he tells me he will be back to install the air vents another day bc he forgot them. I paid him for the job that was done minus the air vents that day, which we both agreed on. Many days go by he never communicates with me regarding coming back to install the air vents. So we hired steam whisperers to finish the job that he was supposed to do. The owner of jc radiators called me back after many days stating he had the vents, I told him it's too late and that it is not okay to treat customers like this. He then starts to berate me on the phone, threatens to sue me for this. Obviously there is nothing to sue about. You are better off spending more money to go with another company for your radiators. Oh and the radiators that were refinished, the paint job was not done up to par. We wound up using steam whisperers for other units in the condo building and the difference is night and day. You don't need to babysit them compared to jc radiators. read more

Jose and his crew were the only people I could find who would take on the task of removing an 8-foot (~800-1000lb) radiator that was painted two colors and chipping, sandblasting/powdercoating it, and reinstalling it. He also took a smaller one that was chipping from our dining room at the same time. While it ended up being a longer process than anticipated and not without some delivery scheduling issues, long story short: They got them back in and they are *beautiful.* Seriously, these make our living/dining rooms so much better. Plus, we have two young kids, and I am no longer worried about paint chips. See attached photos for the before/after. I cannot stress how herculean the task was to move the large radiator. It took two different attempts to get it back in the house as he had to come back with double the guys. Jose did everything to get it done right and protect our newly re-finish floors. These guys are terrific! I wish we had done this 17 years ago when we moved in. I called JC Radiators for my dad after he got a ridiculous quote to fix his radiators in his building; that company wanted to do a ton of work and charge a mint. I suggested we call JC and get another set of eyes on the issue. Jose came out and sure enough, he found that only 2 of the 10 radiators had an issue and needed a new valve (or return elbow?). While he was in the area I asked if he could give me a quote to refinish 6 chipping, horrible nasty looking radiators at my house, he said sure. I'll be honest, I did not think I would be doing the work, figured it would be too much $ for me but it was not as bad as I expected. He came out, fixed my dad's joint and dragged my hulking iron beasts away on the same day. Once the radiators were gone we realized this was the opportunity to get our floors refinished and do some painting. Ultimately, we held Jose and his crew up for several weeks while the work was being done but he was great about the lag. Finally everything was ready and they came to put in our 100 year old, new looking (so clean), powder coated radiators. They got them all installed, after working through a couple of old house issues, put on all new hardware and they look perfect. Got the hot water system refilled and when the heat came on... no leaks! When I need a new boiler (likely sooner than later) Jose will be my first call. I cannot say enough good things about their work, professionalism or how just plain nice they all were. Thank you. FYI, we chose white, because I lack imagination, but ask him to show you the other great examples of his work. While we were away for the holidays, our heat went out and all of our radiators froze and split. The pipes in the walls also froze and broke. JC Radiators replaced the 8 radiators and repaired our furnace. They did the work in a timely and efficient manner. We obtained a few quotes and their price was fair. They responded to all questions or concerns quickly. Jose (the "J" of JC) came by many times himself to talk to us and supervise the work. He is very knowledgeable and accessible. Had two radiators removed, and replaced them In new locations close to where they had been. We had one removed in the dining room and shifted a few feet to accommodate our desire to take a wall down. We needed to move the radiator to do that. Our bedroom radiator leaked badly and also needed to be moved under the window, as it's original location didn't work for our bedroom layout (plus it's original location really made no sense). Bedroom radiator was non-functional prior to their coming. We purchased our radiators and had them powder coated through their company, in addition to their installing them. They came by, gave us an estimate and explained the process and we decided to go through with it. The radiators took about 6 weeks to get powder coated (they said 4-6 weeks, so that estimate was accurate)and once they were ready they notified us we scheduled a time to have them installed the following week. Jose and his two workmen showed up in on time, and got right to work. They quickly and efficiently removed the old radiators, and got to work moving the connections by removing flooring and getting the black pipe cut, threaded, and in place. They brought up the new radiators and got them locked in place right where we asked. We were doing flooring replacement in our little laundry area and there was a bit of radiator pipe that had been filled and was sticking up above the floor that we wanted to cap off and no longer stick through the new finished floor. They were nice enough to take a few minutes to take time to cut that down and cap it for us in between doing the installations of the radiators! The radiators turned out great (locations and type work much better for us), though the color wasn't quite what we thought it would be. We selected it from a photo, but If I had to do it over again I would insist on real samples to ensure we got the color we anticipated we would get. We still like them, despite the slight color difference! They also followed up via phone with us and went above and beyond when we told them the radiators were whistling. They came by and gave us a variety of different air relief valves to try (no charge) to see which worked without whistling. We now have warm, quiet heat, just where we want it thanks to these guys. Really had a good experience and would certainly recommend them and use them again myself. read more

Not great communication. Confused about what I wanted, owner and admin don't talk to each other. Quote was off, did not include delivery, never scheduled delivery, just showed up one day, said they were there to deliver and I asked them to bring into the first floor unit. They said they only deliver to ground floor. Which meant the 300lb radiator sits outside. Seriously? Will never use them again. Spent nearly $800 to refinish a $200 radiator. read more

His team picked up our seven cast iron (read: HEAVY) radiators from our second story apartment, sandblasted and refinished them to the color of our liking, and returned and reinstalled them, all within a three week period from the initial consult/quote. My parents and I have a multi-family home that runs on radiant heat. We have always preferred radiant vs. forced heat. Unfortunately when the home was purchased, one of their radiators wouldn't produce heat in the dining room and the one in their bedroom was leaking down causing damage to my ceiling on the 1st floor. It seems there really isn't anyone nowadays who knows how to fix this and came across JC Radiators on yelp. Called and Jose came out within a few days to check out the issues and give us a quote. The cost was very reasonable and he came out to complete the work. Please know he is busy with numerous jobs as we learned, so patience is key. I called the company on Wednesday inquiring about an estimate to do repair work on a radiator. I was told that we would set up a time on Saturday to complete that, and I was requested to send an email with the main details (name, address, etc.), which I did shortly after. I never received a response to the email, so I sent another on Friday. Still, no response. I called on Saturday only to get a response that was effectively "i'm busy". There are so many technicians that are responsive and respective of customers' planning...not worth wasting time with one who isn't. read more

We have lived in our 1929 home for over 25 years enjoying wonderful radiant heat. However, we have one upstairs room that is quite chilly. The previous owner had removed the radiator. We contacted JC Radiator and asked for assistance in finding a radiator to fit the spot. After many emails, a radiator was found within their extensive inventory. It was a perfect fit. The radiator was delivered and moved into our home with an electric dolly. An amazing device that whisked the 500-700 pound radiator right up the stairs with the assistance of two charming and professional installers. Within an hour, the radiator was installed. After lukewarm or no interest from three radiator outfits, I called JC concerning a challenging replacing of radiator pipe, threading two long pipes thru tight basement walls, converging with 3rd small pipe (all from several angles) into a T. Within two hours the owner, Jose, was out at my place and quoting. Two hours later, he and his crew were at work (sure wasnt expecting same day service). They did work for a client of mine which entailed replacing 11 radiators and a boiler which had frozen while they were away. They were able to match all the sizes of a house from the 1900s remove al the old radiators, locate replacement and install the boiler in less than a week. I had a wonderful experience with José and his helper. I have been looking for a replacement radiator for about 10 years. Every plumbing company I contacted said it would be very difficult and very expensive to find one and install it. I was basically told to forget it. My bedroom was always on the chilly side, because the previous owners had removed one of the two radiators.
