There seems to be good availability for walk on though if you're a single player. I played with 2 buddies so there were 3 of us so the pro shop added a single to our group. The other guy was cool. The course is named after an African American journalist and the course itself was one of the first to allow African American players. The street leading up to the course is named after the first African American PGA tour player, etc. so it has some good history behind the course as well. It's a muni so probably to be expected but there are a few areas of vandalism and minor things like missing letters on some of the signs, etc. that can probably be fixed at some point. For a local course, I'll probably be back.

The team arrived almost an hour late, several seat cushions were visibly stained and even molded, the cushion covers were not all the same color we had asked for when booking, and some of their staff were rude to us. Members of our own team had to jump in to cover cushions, tie them to chairs, and set them up to attempt an on-time event start, despite having had many other things to take care of for the event. At one point, our own executive leadership, who had arrived to attend the event, were helping assemble chairs just to keep things moving. Post event, we expressed our extreme disappointment, and after some back and forth over the course of weeks, the company did acknowledge the issues and agreed to provide a partial refund. Unfortunately, despite months of follow-up and repeated assurances, it has now been over FIVE months, and the refund has still not been provided. I normally prefer to handle situations like this privately and give disappointing companies the benefit of the doubt. But the lack of follow-through and accountability has been incredibly frustrating here, so much time has been wasted with nothing to show for it.
