We were initially recommended to a few contractors that specialized in restoration from leaks but started to feel uncomfortable with the process and like they were all trying to take advantage of us via the insurance claim. A neighborhood Facebook group pointed us to Chermak with consistent reports of them having great service, but also a fair price and staying on time and on budget. I was quickly connected to Angel the project manager and she was able to come out to our house that week for an inspection. She immediately built trust with us and showed a genuine care for wanting to get us back into our home (we had been out already for 3 months). We trusted our gut and quickly got to work with Angel and Chermak and getting the ball rolling on the scope of work to be done and approved by our insurance company. And to risk the obvious pun here, Angel was an Angel, there's no way this would have gone how it did without her, for all that she manages and does she's very efficient and good at her job and really absorbs a lot of the stress and difficulty that is common to this kind of work. She also was very reasonable with us in not upselling, offering suggestions where things could be easier or money better spent, which helped with our trust. Fast forward to the working starting EARLY (which was a good thing) and not only completing on time but even a week EARLY than what was planned, so exciting for us. Kim from the design team helped us get our plans together for the bathrooms to achieve what we really wanted out of them and set the plans in place. Tyler was our GC for the 8 weeks of restoration and I selfishly don't want to tell everyone how good he is because then everyone will want him. We were concerned about having so many people in our home and around our stuff, but he so quickly made us feel comfortable and was adopted into the family. He also really listened to us and understood our wants, needs and particular requests as the bathrooms were constructed, he knew it was important to us things be done the right way and was willing to take the time to see it through. He's also just an all-around good dude and we miss having him here. I've given many referrals since our job wrapped to other prospective clients for Chermak and we intend to hire them again when it's time to remodel our kitchen. Our job was not without any issues but they were determined to do the right thing and see us be happy with the end result, which is a really great experience in this kind of arrangement. He came over same day to survey the job I was requesting which was to tile the backsplash of a powder room bathroom. Jeff provided a quote to install the tile and finish the work of the bathroom including install of vanity, plumbing, sink, mirror, caulking. His quote seemed reasonable. However due to the holidays and budgeting we elected to only have the tile work performed. He was happy to only do the tile work instead of everything he originally quoted us for. According to my partner Zach, Jeff was very professional to speak to and work with throughout the entire process while I was traveling. Jeff even helped out as a bonus and fixed how our carpet met up with the tile bathroom floor that we had installed ourselves but did not take care of the transition between the tile and carpet ourselves properly. When I came home and saw the tile work I immediately knew it was worth the money. Everything was level on the wall. The tile was expertly cut around the plumbing, and the grout lines everywhere were very clean. He cleaned up after himself so well that you wouldn't of known a day before tile was installed. I met Chad through a friend of mine who is a long-time real estate agent. Moisture had gotten into…read morea portion of the bathroom wall nearest the shower door and the paint had bubbled up. Several contractors had come out before I found Chad, but none of them could figure out where the water leak was coming from. Since it was water damage, I called this company that used fancy equipment to locate where water leaks were coming from. That guy came out, ran his fancy water leak machine around the wall but couldn't figure out where the leak was coming from and left me with a $600 bill! Then the last contractor that came out to look at the problem (before I met Chad) recommended that I tear out the entire wall around the bathtub/shower and put in a whole new wall around the shower. When I asked him how much that would cost, it ended up being over $10,000! And the damage to the side of the wall appeared to be fairly well contained, approximately 5 inches in length, so I found it hard to believe that I'd have to go to that extreme of tearing out the entire wall. At this point I'm fed up with having several contractors come out, and not one of them can figure out where the leak is coming from, so I called my real estate friend to see if she or any of her real estate friends knew of a contractor that had done work for any of them that they liked, and she immediately mentions Chad, without any hesitation. I thought, okay, that's a good sign initially. No hesitation there to come up with a name of a contractor. He had done work in my friend's condo, including painting her condo (she still raves about the excellent paint job he and his crew did), and she told me that Chad had also done work for several of her real estate friends who were also very pleased with his work. It seemed everybody was happy with the work he had done for them, so I contacted him and told him about the issue with my bathroom wall, and we set up an appointment so he could come out to look at the bathroom wall, and we'd go from there. I couldn't believe the HUGE difference between Chad and all the other contractors I had contacted. Not only did Chad find what was causing the water leak (the sealing around the shower door had deteriorated in some parts and water was slowly leaking through). He immediately went to work resealing all around the shower door. Then he went to work on the portion of the bathroom wall where the paint had bubbled up and opened up just that portion of the wall where there was damage. He inspected for mold and thankfully there was none, but he explained he was going to leave a fan in the bathroom and that I was to leave it running to help with drying up the surface moisture around that area, and his crew would return a few days later to finish up the wall. So a few days past, his crew shows up and Lee patches up the wall, then returns a few days later to check on the wall and complete the work. When he's done, that wall looks like nothing ever happened. It looked like a brand new wall! I was so impressed, and so happy that finally...... FINALLY!....... a contractor showed up that was able to assess the problem quickly and know how to fix it. Remember the other contractor I told you about earlier that estimated a final bill of over $10,000? Chad's bill ended up being less than $800! I couldn't believe it. So of course I call my real estate friend after all the work is done and rave about Chad and his crew to her. I also thanked her for her excellent recommendation. Both she and Chad saved me from spending thousands of dollars on a job that really only ended up being less than $800. It's been several years now since that bathroom work was done by Chad and his crew, and that wall and the sealant around the shower door is holding up beautifully! Since that time, I've called on Chad for other work around my condo, because of the superb work they did on my bathroom wall. His crew has come over and installed kitchen lighting, and also came out and helped me with a dishwasher that was leaking on the floor. And the important thing for me is that every single time I have called on this company for any type of work I need done in my condo, they come out, they get the job done, and I never have a problem with the work they've done after. They fix it and it stays fixed. That's all I wanted. Fix the problem! Chad and his crew does! I love them! It just feels so good to know you can trust a company to do the work well, and it's a time saver for me because next time I need any work done? I know who to call. I don't have to waste time looking around and trying to figure out who's reputable, etc. My apologies for such a long review, but I know I like when people leave long reviews and go into detail because it helps give me a feel for the company and if it might be a good fit for what I need, so I hope my positive experience with this company will help someone out there.

His crew Michael and David were true professional who showed up 10 minutrs before 8 every day and fixed many old house issues along the way. Our kitchen and wood flooring finished on time and moatly on budget(some minor change orders). The whole process took onky 6 weeks and 2 wreks we enjoyed our scheduled vacation. They did outstanding job with workmanship, quality of plumbing, electrical work(passed permit inspection at first time). Our initial elation was tempered a little when we uncovered some badly patched areas that we thought might not be able to be repaired. But then we contacted Hardwood Perfections. They came out quickly and advised us that indeed they could repair all of the damage and could do it on a timetable that fit perfectly into our plans. The floor refinishing crew did amazing work. After pulling up all of the damaged materials they rebuilt portions of the subfloor and then laced in new oak boards in a way that matched the existing floor perfectly. Next were several rounds of sanding to remove the old finish and even out everything. On the third and final day they applied Bona Natural water-based sealer followed by three coats of Bona matte finish. The results were stunning. Hardwood Perfections completely transformed this living space into something beautiful and amazing. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail was flawless. All along the way we were advised of what was happening so there were never any surprises. Hardwood Perfections finished the job a full day ahead of schedule, did amazing work and stuck right to the estimate for services. Glad we covered things, that was not done or done very well. Slav said they would move the range and seal there, they didn't. Said they would remove the trim, not looking like they did. Now wondering about under the fridge. Why write this? I was not home for this work, recommend that you see that what was agreed to is done. I paid for those things. Getting refund for range and sealing off rooms, but would rather have had the work done right than discover what wasn't done. As for the refinishing, they nailed the loose boards I identified and sanded/sealed. Looks good.
