No greetings, slow service. If the sales associate who rung me up wore a nametag, then I'd name her. The manager circled the registers but didn't contribute to the long line. Many associates could've come to help speed up the checkout process and chose to hide instead. The associate who "helped" tried to deny me from paying my jcp card, due to her lack of knowledge of the payment process. No sense of urgency in helping the customer and felt like they were deliberately wasting my time. Should've been a quick trip but ended up being a horrible experience. read more

There are 2 areas that denote the end of the mall. These are JCPenney and Sears. When you see the store you know it's time to turn around. Service is none existent and merchandise looks like leftovers from Mervyn's. At least bathroom was open as there were no customers in the store and it's before Xmas. 2015 may be the last year for this business. read more

I came to JC Penney after hearing about the changes they made about their prices. Red tags are their everyday prices, white tags are their monthly specials and the blue tags are their lowest prices only on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. I got a belt. The person at the register was very friendly and was trying to explain all the changes at the store. The one thing that stood out was that they will accept any returned item in any condition at any time. Sounds great! read more

I finally got around to making a yelp account and writing reviews I promised to write lol. I got a new ring from here a couple weeks ago and the sales associate (I wish I could remember her name but she was older and very sweet) was not pushy at all! I went to 5 other ring stores trying to find the right one and it was nothing but pressure and I didn't see anything I even liked. But I found a perfect one here and the sales associate was able to get us the Mother's Day discount without us even having to ask. After a very stressful day, the associates smiles and jokes about my "puppy eyes" made my whole day better! I can't wait until my ring is finished getting resized! Only a week or two left! read more

Went to buy a pair of Nikes that I buy from them every year. Tried several pairs and they were dirty and had been worn before. Even the New Balance were dirty on the bottom with pebbles stuck in the bottom of the shoes. Asked the girl why and she said they were suppose to be marked down, they were selling them for $60.00. I called them when I got home and the guy answered me by saying " Whatz up?" Some customer service! Guess I won't be going back there anymore. They should train their employee's better. I have been in Customer Service for over 50 years and you never talk to a customer like that! read more

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. It has been such an awful experience! To make a long story short, they were unable to refund me a purchase that was made by the end of January, even though the item had to be adjusted and I didn't receive it until mid Feb. They said the policy is 60 days return for jewelry which I understand, but I didn't have the jewelry until Feb. 19th which technically has not been 2 months. Plus, I have the jewelry the same way it was bought since I didn't wear it at all because I do not like it. Management was not helpful at all, and ended up with over $500 store credit for JCPenny which forces me to go to the store to make purchases and not voluntarily go for a purchase. I doubt that I will even purchase anything with it. Bu rather, I will offer it to someone else or exchange for cash value at a kiosk for gift card exchanges. read more

Just left jcpenney with our new curtains and curtain rod. We went in and noticed a bunch that we liked, but couldn't find the right ones. When we finally landed on the set we loved with the matching rod, the price was a little high but then we noticed the sale sign!!! We had a minor hiccup and one of the super helpful ladies working in the department next door to curtains offered assistance but couldn't quite get us home...That's when we discovered Charles, the supervisor in the men's department. He was courteous, took his time and was very informative even though this wasn't his specified area. We bought the set we loved today and we will now be returning because that gentleman went above and beyond for us! Thanks Charles, and thanks JCPenney for hiring great employees who care about us and arent just talking heads, it is refreshing! We will be back! read more

I visited today and was absolutely blown away by a JCPenney employee named Sean. I don't know what dept he works in but he went way above and beyond this morning. I was shopping and heard a male voice on the intercom on the second floor asking at least three times for the shoe dept to come to the phone. I guess the request wasn't answered because pretty soon afterwards I overheard a young guy talking on the cashier's phone in ladies wear to a customer. He then went to the shoe dept, pulled a pair of boots the person on the phone wanted and put them on hold. I'm pretty sure he didn't even work on that floor but was helping a customer out. Vicki at the cashier was super sweet and efficient too. I'm impressed guys. This level of service is NOT common nowadays. Well played. read more

Never try on the rings at JCP in Brea, they will arrest you and accuse you of shoplifting....It was a busy black Friday morning and the rent a cop came up to me and asked me to give him back his merchandise, i told him i didn't know what he was talking about. He proceeded to arrest me without letting me speak and hurting my wrists along the way. After parading me in handcuff through the store, he and another security guard reviewed the cameras and realized that they had made a mistake, they told me "oh we are not going to press charges due to lack of evidence and let me go without even writing a report. Why would i steal a ring that was 9.99? Not worth it! The jerks knew they were wrong, they got lucky that i didn't sue them, my mama being a hard core KARMA believer that she is told me they would be punished later on. For the record, i have never shoplifted in my life or have any type of criminal record, im a good girl! read more

Don't really shop here so can't say much about the store but I love their bra section. So a 3 or so years ago,my mom was telling me to get fitted because "You're wearing the wrong bra" I was wearing those cheapy things they sell in the coupons in sunday paper that are comfy but not supportive LOL. Anyway, I don't know if the lady still works here but when I wanted to get sized, she made it such a wonderful experience. Most times unless you are skinny minny people don't want to deal with you when it comes to getting fitted so customer service really makes a big difference. She sized me and to my delight they had some cute stuff in my size. She showed me the different brands/types of bras I should be looking for when bra shopping. I ended up buy 2 or 3 cute bras in cute that really changed how my clothes looked and gave me that necessary lift HAHA. And the bonus is that they were have a really good sale on womens underthings. I'd come back to their womens wear area when if I need some more stuff! read more

I love my ring that I bought from JC Penny! But not in love with how aggressive the woman are about commission. A couple of woman helped us but one was extremely aggressive and persistent in trying to buy myself the ring instead of having my boyfriend come and get it later so she can just get the commission. Suzanne was way to rude and pushy and was only nice when it came to selling you an item so she can get her commission and I have over heard her talking about it to someone else who was helping me. There are a couple of woman who are just like Suzanne, but there was an elderly lady who was so sweet (her name might of been Barbara). When we had to go back to resize the ring months later from this incident the woman was extremely rude to me and my boyfriend as well as being short and saying no to anything and everything. I am not hAppy with absolutely anything regarding JC Penny customer service other than my ring. They need to make it way less known that they are all about commission because it took away my business and me ever returning. read more

I never knew there was a salon in jc penneys, i came in looking for a shirt and noticed a salon sign just before i left to go into the mall. So i went in and talked to the receptionest she turned me over to Tamar, who was super nice and had tons of info and great ideas for a new look. she was super talkative and friendly made you feel like you had ben friends for years. she is a pefectionist and wouldnt let me leave till both of us were happy with the haircut. she changed my mind about salons thats for sure i always thought of them for women only.
