I placed an order online and it was ready for pick up within a few hours. I came by on a Saturday evening, just before they were going to close. For online order pick ups, you head to the third floor, home section, approach the register and the staff assists you there. The pick up process went smooth and I was out of there in no time. They have a sale for the Biolage hair products which is what prompted me to shop at JCPenney. This store is inside the northridge mall close to the food hall in the center of the layout. The parking lot is huge as well. Glad that this store is still open; I used to shop here as a teenager as well. read more

Plenty of free on site parking. Venue 3 stars: This location has been around for ages. It was one of the four original anchor stores when the Northridge Mall first opened in the early 70's and it's the only one that's still here. Service 3 stars: Employee-dependent. Usually decent but not extraordinary. Walk-in returns (even if purchased online) are easy and convenient. Selection 2.5 stars: It is not as well-stocked as it used to be, same as most other department stores that have succumbed to online shopping. When you walk around you see some empty shelves and floorspace. Prices 2.5 stars: You can get some good pricing when items go on sale but regular prices are high. read more

I have been coming here but I haven't really explored much. They used to have 4 floors. Wow!!! The other day while getting my steps, I took my time in checking this store out. By far this is the biggest one that I have been to. They have a pretty good selection of different things. It's a one stop shop for the whole family. First floor is for men's. Second floor is for women's, kids, jewelry, watches, and other items. Third floor is where the beds, bedding, kitchen accessories and the like. They have a clearance rack on display. I checked it out and they have a nice polo shirt on sale for $5.99. Yay!!! They didn't have my size but I chose 2 colors. When it was time to pay, there were 2 people ahead of me. The sales clerk is taking time to help them out. It took like 10minutes for both of them. She was very apologetic about it though. Overall it was good exploring the whole store. read more

Well, this is regarding the JCPenney in Lakewood, California. I purchased Furniture a bed that ruined my back and my lower hip. Staying elsewhere for a few days, so wanted a nice. The bad news is that we came for photos at 4 and we didn't get taken in until 5:20. We even came a little early to show proper etiquette. JC Penny has some great deals. Are they the top notch clothes brands? No. Not always. Does that matter? For me no. For you, possibly. It is definitely worth at least a quick glance if there's something in particular you're looking for but not wanting to spend an arm and leg on. We recently found out that there's a hair studio inside this location that offers really cheap cuts for kids. We took our eldest son here twice. First time it was a great cut. The second not so much. That second time we also took our youngest for a cut and it was horrible. Yes, it's a cheap cut. But you could tell that some of the people there are either inexperience or they're just in a rush to get through people. This salon is a perfect example of you get what you pay for. But, if you're looking for a quick cut that doesn't need to be perfect, it could be just what you need. So in the end, I think everyone knows what they're getting when they come to JC Penny. This location is well stocked & clean. It's definitely a department store I am quick to at least run through and see what I can snag for a great deal. read more

Bait and switch in the jewelry department and the ladies are complete morons. Went to purchase a necklace and the saleswoman behind the counter said they are 70% off. Wow! Then we had a coupon for an additional 30% off. Then come the lies. The necklace clearly stated it was $1700, but rung up it said $2200. Ummm, not ok. Then the manager Grace comes over and said the price on the necklace is wrong. Not my problem. THEN Grace says the necklaces are UP TO 70% off. So this on was only 20% off. What POS liars! I stopped by JCPenney to basically look for a slim fit dress shirt since I was burning time at the mall. I was surprise that they finally open the 2nd floor gate on the other side of the mall because the last couple of times I walk by the store, the gate was always closed. The men dress area is not really welcoming because it is dark and the mood is just not there based on appearancr. I didn't see many JCPenney employees throughout the store and I went to both floors. They have a 3rd floor but I didn't go up there. The plus size department at the Northridge store is deplorable. I find myself driving from the Valley to Culver City if I want a decent choice of clothes and a department that someone cares about. I have tried several times to shop in the Plus size department at the Northridge store and the buyers just don't seem to care about plus size women. Please feel free to compare the two stores and you will see a marked difference in quality and care. read more

Pro-tip: Shop with the JCP app, coupons and your own personal scanner at your finger tips. Saves me a ton of time! This JCP is the closest one to me and I go here often but I wish there were more registers open. They recently closed the register in the shoe department and I think it was their worst decision... Lines everywhere are far longer when they were long to begin with... This is a popular place for moms/grandmas and they take the time at the register to get ever discount right... I wish they could fix this. I think they are stocked pretty well here but it is such a busy mall already they should have better availability at the registers. I usually go to sephora and pay there - but know you should only pay here if you are confident about the prices of your items. the sephora register cannot adjust prices. read more

The NEW lady in the funiture department wrote down the wrong info and delivered the wrong matress when we directly walked over to the mattress to clarify/make sure we will get the right mattress. I had to make 2 purchases in order to get my mattress on time. Since the new mattress was delivered they were scheduled to pick up the wrong mattress. According to sale rep that was the quickest way. So I agreed to making 2 purchases and once they pick up the wrong mattress I would be credited back within 10 days. This happened June 26. Today is July 16. No credit. No sign of mattress checked in. Spoke with the deliver/pick up guy directly, 2 MSD receptionist, 2 managers, 1 supervisor, 1 funiture sale dept, and 4 corporate office personal yet no one seems to be able to help me get my refund. Where's the mattress? I really don't care. All I know is you delivered the correct mattress and picked up the WRONG one the SAME DAY and I want my refund back. This is the NEW lady in funiture dept at Northridge mall fault for delivering the wrong mattress. I saw her coping the info from the previous person and I literally walked her over to make sure its this matress (FINGER POINTING) that mattress. On the way out I passed by the athletic clothes and found walking capri pants and shorts....and they were on sale...yay!!!! Awesome deals! Went to customer service desk to purchase and line was tooo long, so I went downstairs (great tip people) to make my purchase where no one was in line! KhinKyi helped me at the register...she was great! So nice, so helpful....even told me about an online coupon! That's great customer service! She made me so happy! Their website even has extra sales coupons, which tracks their own coupons for better deals, sometimes beats the sale price by a lot. Find my small kitchen appliances, hairdressers/salon's good at what they do & much more. All together, a very convenient store to shop. This review is for the portrait studio. These people are awesome! Came here Christmas Eve with an appointment and was helped out right away. Our 4 month old wasn't cooperating well and the photographer we had was so patient and understanding she let us have all the time we needed before we started. When she was having trouble trying to get our baby's attention, she also asked for help and everyone was so friendly and obviously knew how to work with kids. We had to take a couple breaks and our photographer switched to another guy because of this and he was just as patient and helpful with us. Unfortunately I don't remember their names, but both our photographers, one female and one male, and also the other male who helped us were all great. They are amazing and the photos also turned out great. The digital images are already done and ready to be downloaded on the same day, and we can pick up the print in less than a week. Highly recommend this portrait studio. Will be back for Aaron's birthday :) read more

I have been a credit card holder for quite a while, when you call their store connect to a certain department, the telephone will ring over 50 times with no answer, that will happen with the store operator as well! When you go into the store you may see just see a few employees in a large department so it is very difficult to get help!! As for customer service they get a zero!! When you dont answer the telephone in any business, thats not good! As for JC Penney they are closeing alot of their stores in the chain, it seems to appear that they are on life support! Remember the Tiantic, what happened??? It sank!!!! I do like their merchandise, they have excellent sales, and value, just very poor customer service, and management!! It starts at the top!! I was very pleased with my shopping experience at this store. I badly needed socks and briefs, but could not find them in other stores. Fortunately, this store had exactly what I was looking for. Ok so I sent my teenager here to buy some clothes and I gave her my AMEX. I know they are probably just trying to protect me. But they wouldn't let her use it. Despite my talking to them and telling them I would be more than happy to give any information and approval. I get it....it's probably their policy. But what was more annoying was that they charged my card for the items. I have the Amex app and it tells me when a charge goes thru. So they charged me but then wouldn't let her go home with the items. So I had to drive there with her after work. PAIN IN THE *SS. Decided against purchasing from them after all that simply because I was upset at the waste of time. I know....I'm probably wrong here. But I don't care. I would like to see more employees on the floor to help your guests. Especially during these last too weeks. Be better than the other retail giants. I was surprised that after my purchase that I had to go up to the third floor to get boxes for my gift's. A recommendation would put boxes on each floor for your guests. Several deals and sales going on right now. Its probably until this Saturday and another will start on Sunday. Check your Sunday paper for their add.
