I ordered a mattress which I had slept on at a friend's house. She had owned it for about 3 years and it was the most comfortable mattress I had ever slept on. She told me she bought it at JC Penny and so I took down the information off the mattress tag and ordered it as soon as I got home. I placed the order on February 19, 2024 and received it about a week later. On April 8, not two months later, I felt that the top layer of the mattress bunching and creating a big wrinkle. It was not holding together. I assumed that it must be defective. I called JC Penny and explained the situation. I was told repeatedly that the policy of the company was not to honor the defectiveness of the mattress. Instead, to get rid of this and recoup any funds, I and was charged $178.00 for a restocking fee (there was no way this mattress would be "restocked, it was defective) and for the pickup, which I understood. I felt like I was speaking with a robot who was reading off a script. When she told me that I was speaking with the "escalation" department, I found that questionable as it was the 800 number I called and the first person I spoke with. You don't usually get directed to the escalation department on your first customer service call. I think she is told to say that to anyone who was unhappy. I felt sorry for the customer service person. She was clearly just doing her job. She showed not concern about the condition of the mattress which was a reflection of the JC Penny policy, not the young woman, but I hung up knowing I wold never do business with JC Penny again and was very disappointed and sorry for the young woman doing a job that lacked any real form of Customer care. Buyer beware.

10:30 photography appointment on a Sunday. Employee from JC Penney called and confirmed a couple days prior. We arrived at 10:15 only to find every door locked. There was another group of woman trying to get in that we grouped up with in our efforts. No luck at 2 outside doors, went in the main entrance, took elevator upstairs, that door also locked. Now we are all aggravated. My back (that I have rods in) is killing. Note I did not bring a stroller assuming I was going right in. Finally got through all the prompts and reached a human in photography. Apparently we were supposed to be notified to go to the outside, glass doors. We then walked all the back through the mall and outside to the glass doors. Luckily, our photographer was fantastic. He got some great shots and gave us 3 free sheets for our troubles.

As we were shopping at the mall we decided to stop in at this JCPenney location to look for some children's clothes as well as a silver necklace. As we shopped in the children's section we were a bit dissapointed at the fact that they had limited formal wear for boys. We were specifically looking for suits and didn't find much. Although that was the case, we were surprised to see how diverse their jeweler collection was. As we looked through their incredible selection of men's jewelry, we were assisted by a polite employee named Jeanette. She was incredibly professional and was ultimately the reason we bought our jewelry here. She was extremely knowledgeable about the merchadise and struck up an incredible conversation. In the end, we enjoyed shopping at this JCPenney and we will shop here again in the future.

when is 50% off not 50%off? When jc penny Peabody tricks customers with signs

Look at the picture of the 50% off at JCPenneys in Peabody. It was very clearly behind the slacks. the manager(I think her name is Fatty) said it was a mistake, I should have read the fine print and "COMPANY POLICY" did not allow her to do anything about be deceptive. The sale associate was very nice but watch out for company policy, deceptive practices and manager who don't give a ,,,, about customers.

Kinda dingy and small. The staff is pretty helpful though and they stay open later than the mall.

I can't say enough great things about this store…read more Other reviews mention they don't care about plus size girls and that can't be further from the truth. I've been a size 12/14 my entire pageant career and I'm currently purchasing my 4th gown from them. Other stores never have the beautiful gowns I see in photos, but Glitterati does. They don't cheat bigger girls out of gorgeous dresses that blow you away. They were extremely attentive and helpful and made sure I had a gown with the WOW factor. They found a lovely dress AND they brought a seamstress up to put alterations on it and add a skirt to make it really standout on stage. No one else will have this custom Sherri Hill gown and Glitterati made it happen. All of the staff have been extremely kind and they put me in gowns that make my jaw drop. I've ranked at Nationals twice in their gowns. If you want a drop dead gorgeous gown, get one here.

It's been a few months and I never heard back from the store about my experience, so let me say…read morethis: If you're considering buying a dress from Glitterati, DON'T. And don't even think about having alterations done here unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars for a shoddy job that doesn't get finished on time, or if you want to get verbally berated by the seamstress when you try to point out the issues to her. Heed the warnings of the 1-star reviews. I wish I had. I would have saved lots of money (and a few tears after getting yelled at in the store). My ordeal started when I bought a mermaid-style dress back in September. It was missing some sequins (they still charged me full price), and it needed alterations since it was a size too big and the beading needed to be replaced. I paid for rush alterations since my event was happening soon. In my fitting, the seamstress pinned all the places the dress needed to be taken in: straps, zipper, back seam below the zipper, pinned both layers of hems to cover my heels (which I wore to the fitting), and marked all the places there was beadwork missing. But despite paying a lot of extra money for rush alterations, I wasn't told I could pick up the dress until a day after the date they originally stated. I live out of the state, which I'd told them, so I'd already planned my travel around the deadline they set. The seamstress wasn't there when I picked it up, and they handed me the dress as though I were expected to just take it without even trying it on. But I tried on the dress before I left, and it was a good thing I did: none of the missing beadwork had been replaced. There were still loose threads and sequins hanging limply off this very expensive dress. Many of the alterations the seamstress had pinned in the fitting weren't done, including taking in the lower seam to fit the mermaid dress closer to my body. And despite pinning the hem so it would cover my shoes, the inner hem was a full 4" too short. You can't add fabric, obviously, so the hem was ruined. I told the cashier all the problems, so she took careful notes and said she'd take the dress back to the seamstress to fix and would let me know when I could pick it up. I also requested the seamstress be there when I pick up the dress again. By the time the dress was ready a second time, it was already several days after the original deadline, so this could no longer be considered a rush job (but they were still happy to take my money for it). I put on the dress and the seamstress pointed out all the places she'd fixed the beading, bragging how she'd spent several hours fixing it the day before. I reminded her that I had paid for this to be fixed by the original deadline, but she hadn't done it as she'd promised. I also pointed out the hem that was too short, and that there were a couple places she'd pinned in the fitting and they hadn't been taken in. Parts of the dress were still hanging off my body. She proceeded to shout at me, yelling how she'd spent hours fixing the beading (again, a job I'd already paid her to do the first time that hadn't gotten done), yet refusing to address the ruined hem or the other issues with the fit. Finally, she got her assistant to quickly take in the back seam (it was slapdash and done in a few minutes). She never apologized for the lateness of the dress, never acknowledged the alterations she had promised but didn't deliver, and shouted at me during the entire appointment while I quietly asked for the fixes I'd paid for. Eventually, I asked if I could just get my money back. Not only was this no longer a rush job since I didn't get the dress by the deadline I requested, but the hem was ruined by being cut several inches too short, the alterations had not been done properly, and I had been verbally berated for asking that the repairs be done and the alterations be fixed. The kind person at the counter said she would ask her manager, took my phone number and everything. I never heard back. I tried calling, but no one picked up. I finally left a voicemail with my phone number and recounted the whole experience, but never heard back. Since I live out of state and travel a lot for work, I can't just go into the store to resolve this on the off chance a manager will be there (there wasn't a manager there any time I went in during this ordeal). I wore the dress to my event, and none of the beading fixes held. The same strands are hanging off the dress again, and the sequins and beading look patchy. Since the alterations weren't done right, the skirt was constantly bunching around my hips and making the hem ride up even shorter. After everything had been done so poorly (if at all), I was actually embarrassed to be seen in the dress. And still no word about getting any of my money back. Not even an apology. So do yourself a favor: go to Macy's. Shop on Amazon. Go to literally any dress shop and seamstress except this one. Save yourself the money and headache.

What a dream! I honestly didnt know this store existed but so glad I found it while visiting Salem!…read moreA Goths dream thats for sure. Upon entering, you are greeted by a massive huge open floor plan of everything black, spooky and horror! There was so much too see and I wanted everything! A few photo op opportunies throughout the store. All the employees were super friendly and efficient. I ended up buying a blackcraft hoodie and decorated my own Salem Tote bag. With the purchase of a $35 tote bag, I get one patch free to put on the bag. If I want more, I of course can purchase however many patches I want. Thomas was HUGE HELP and very pleasant. He helped me with the placement if the patches and explained everything in great detail! Once everything is placed in its desired position, he will go ahead and get everything pressed. I loved it! Just the experience made it worth while for me. My very own custom made tote bag. Overall, great time in this store and I highly recommend visiting when you are in Salem. You could easily spend hours here to look at every single thing.

To say that I was blown away when we walked into BlackCraft Cult would be an understatement. I…read moreremember opening the door and hearing my husband say "whoa." You walk inside and your eyes immediately go up to the enormously gorgeous witch statue that is hanging from the ceiling. I had seen photos and videos, but it is more beautiful in person. It is a tribute to one of the owners and her battle with cancer. The inside is decorated spooky with tons of orange and black everywhere - I wanted to stay here forever. They even had a life size statue of Edgar Allen Poe. They offer a ton of merchandise from apparel to mugs to even stickers and magnets. Everything is pricy as you would expect, but you can only get their items in store so I think it is worth it if you're looking for something unique. BlackCraft Cult also does a haunted house on the weekends during the Halloween season with live scare actors - you can tour it during the week too, but they do not have the actors then. Staff were friendly and helpful! I hope to come back some day to visit again! Check them out!
