we've been meaning to get over to this store for a long time. i remember the jcp of my youth and it was always the place you went for holiday tights/shoes/dressy stuff or whatever else my mom may have needed for the house. boyfriend and i were really impressed by the new jcp. they have a great selection of clothes for both men and women and the prices are great! i love that there is a sephora section in the store. this will come in handy when i don't want to hit up the actual store. this store in particular was clean, organized and spacious. so glad that i needed to find a restroom and found it here! read more

This store is really looking better than before. A lot more brands and at fair prices. My only concern is the lack of cashiers/customer service stations, the lines tend to be long and i feel like i have to walk all the way across the building to look for a check out stand. Awesome prices and great selections. I just wish they would sort out those clearance racks. The sizes are all over the place and i was really wanting to find something for the kids. But the sizes never matched what was on the hanger and sometimes there were not matching the tag. so i was really confusing at times. But the workers were very nice and helpful. My review is for the store in general. Long lines, and unfriendly sales associates. The girl in the shoe department just stared at me when I approached her to ask for my size. Shouldn't you be asking me if I needed help? After I decided on the shoes to buy, I stood by the cash register and she just walked right past me without even acknowledging my presence. And the sales associate in the kids department didn't even bother to tell me that I should stand in the other line (which was the wrong line). If you have more than 5 people in line, you should have a way of calling for help. Teaches me to come before closing on a weeknight. If you want to stay in business in this day and age, you should hire associates with better customer service etiquette and appreciation for having a job to go to. read more

Thank you Roy! You did an awesome job with our 2015 family photos because of you we are planning to do it all over again next year. We appreciate your patience, creativity and effectiveness. Initially I was running late for our 6:20 pm appointment but phoned ahead of time to give them a heads up. I was feeling a little stressed, they let me know that it would not be a problem and they would bump us to the next time slot. We arrived at 6:25 pm and waited 15 minutes until we were ready to go, which gave the family a moment to relax and get it together. The short wait to the next time slot was perfect as we had our dog with us to be in the photos as well. The photo shoot lasted about 15 minutes, which when you have 3 kids and a dog is about all they can handle. Superb Job yet again Roy! We came out with 18 great photos to choose from (2 adults, 3 kids and the Best dog ever). This in my book is a grand slam! The photos were available via JC Penny's website to share with the family by the time I got home. The family loved the photos as well! read more

The ladies that work in the Housewares Dept rock!! My Mom bought me a set of casserole dishes from another state from JC Penneys. Unfortunately, 1 was broken in the box. No problem replacing here at the JC Penney in San Jose on Tully. I called, and the lady relayed the info to the next worker because she would be off shift by the time I got there. My little girl and came here to buy some stuff at Sephora and also to take a look at the Matresses since I am planning in renovating my whole room... well we were testing the matresses and in rmthe exitement on how confy they were I missed that my little one standed on the matress with shoes on! I know my bad. But this lady came in and with a super bad face and a stink eye told me, "no jumping and no shoes on the matress, don't you know how to read?" and she pointed to a sing next to Us. I told her "How Rude" and she says "Yes so what?" and I was like so surprised hahahaha Grabbed my baby girl and said "well apparently idk how to read" and she totally looks at me and says "How nice." The nerve of this lady! Yes I know what you are thinking, "well you were doing something you are not supposed to do" Yes, I know... and I aslo been working retail for 6yrs now (yes sad) and I know not to talk to costumers like that, even when they are doing something they are not supposed to be doing. I know how to politely approach them and tell them what is not allowed, and believe, after 6 yrs in retail I have learn to not like people at all! But I still have to be professional, something thay associate was not! Besides the fact that no one spoke to us during our 40 minute visit, the 25 minutes that we waited in line for check out was infuriating. 4 other workers were near or actually at the registers, but did not open a register or call for support. There was always 5-6 people waiting in line. My grandmother has a difficult time walking, so we did not leave the line like others did, for short wait times. This rating is with regards to the Custom Drapery Dept at JC Pennys.The reason we chose to use JCPenny for the drapery was their large selection.In hindsight,I wish we had gone with a different store for our drapes.You would think with the money I paid for custom drapes,the drapes would come out exactly to fit.It was not the case.In fact,JC Penny made so many mistakes on our order that they had to come out to our house to fix each mistake.They were at our house at least 7 times. The 1st mistake was that they made the drapery too short,even after the custom drapery person had come & taken the measurements of the windows. They had to re-do the curtains. The 2nd mistake was the material of the curtains were all puckered,stretched out of shape.It was not smooth,like how a custom drapery should look.It looked like some I'd bought off the rack.The consultant said it was the material that I had chosen,that it had a tendency to stretch out of shape.Geez,I wish the consultant had told me this beforehand.Then I had to wait another 2 weeks for them to make a new set of curtains,with a diff material. The 3rd mistake was for the 3rd set of curtains,they made it too long. It was literally a "comedy of errors".I felt like with all the mistakes they made,which ended up costing them money bc they'd have to throw out the drapery & start over again. The 4th mistake was there were several dark dirt marks on the curtain,in 3 spots. The guy ended up coming & using a toothbrush & some detergent to scrub the dirt marks. The 5th mistake was the top part of the curtains,the awning part did not match each other.One was more pleated than the other. The 6th mistake involved the custom made blinds for the 2 bedrooms windows.They were longer than the window & bottom slate made dent marks in the window sills of both bedroom windows.When I pointed that out to the consultant,she said they would take 1 slat out of the blinds to make it less heavy,not bear dn on the sill so much. This was 8 months ago.No one has come to fix this. Not only that,with all the mistakes it took us 5 months to get every thing right with the drapes. I definitely do not recommend JCPennys for custom drapes. read more

I find it pathetic for employees at JCPenny to be so immature. I go to the store with my little sister (she's 4) to purchase a simple watch for her, and she really wants this; and I get passed around from employee to employee, for a cheap $7 - $15 watch, that I'm trying to purchase. For about 3 times I get passed around, just because I'm purchasing something that isn't over $100 and up. Every employee that I visit looks at my item of purchase and simply states that they're busy with a customer and after finishing, just walks off ignoring me. And at that I'm ready to give up. But how can I say no when this child just wants a watch. How could employees simply just brush off a customer and with a child? What kind of service is that? Just because a I'm not buying a pricy item? Shouldn't they be treating customers equally, despite whatever the price of our item is. Please train your employees properly. read more

Two stars, because the change of the store was not an improvement for me.. My daughter and I went there for bras and work pants. We found what we needed. Thats a plus. I love their bargains.. But my disappointment was the customer service. No employees go out of there way to help. While looking like dorks up and down the isles for fitting rooms we walk up on 2 employees acting like they were stocking. To ask for the fitting rooms, which sucks cause they are few and in between. Found our deals and ready to check out with our 10% discount. OMG..Juanita, darling. You should step your game up honey. You are to slow to be cashier. I found some items on clearance and when I went to pay, cashier told me the price came up at a higher price than what tag stated. She called manager and they informed me that they can not sell items. This happened to the customer in front of me as well. Another word, Jc penny do not honor mistagged items, even if it was their mistake. I have been a customer here for 20+ years and this truly shows poor customer service. I hope they will not continue doing this to other customers or J.C. Penney will lose lots of customers this way. JCPenney has the most out dated payment methods online,on their app, and by phone that I've ever seen. it's ridiculous. Takes forever to make the payment using any of the methods they have available. I think the company still expects their customers to come into the store in person to make a payment. This review is for the hair salon! If I could give this salon a zero! This review is for the stylist named Yolanda! She is so unprofessional. She talked about her past life, sexual relationship and her personal life which I didn't think were appropriate to talk about with me. She was a chatter box which is ok but she wouldnt stop! Second every time she styles my hair I feel she charges me more and adds more thing to my final product. For example I went to get a boylage and for example she charged me close to 350 dollars! She said my hair was long, thick, and needed more product then she charged me additional for blow drying my hair! I though a blow dry was included as I was dropping a lot of money on my hair. I went there June 3 and I left unhappy. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I left in tears. I was looking for a soft brown and golden blonde highlights and I left with orange hair!!!!! My husband who Is the sweetest guy tried so hard to make me feel better but he said it just wasn't nice. My kids ages 4 and 2 said mommy dyed her hair orange. There's no Boylage to it. Mg appointment was at 10 and i didn't leave until 5:30!!!! I ended up going to a salon in willow glen a week later and they said it was a disaster! They had a hard time fixing my hair and they had to cut more tone it down and start all over! They had to deep condition my hair since it got damaged and redye my hair. I went to a r ally nice salon to fix my hair I should have just gone there from the beginning because they didn't even charge me half of what Yolanda charges me and I left looking confident! Had a great experience at JC Penney! My brother wanted to but a blouse for his wife. My most caring, but also very picky, sis in law. My sister in law loves nice looking clothes but paying big bucks for them is another matter. Well, one this wonderful Saturday (right before July 4th it's a holiday that always brings us barbecue and celebration). My brother saw a blouse at JC Penney that just looked very nice. The price tag on the other, hand, not all that nice. My brother decided to purchase it anyways. When he got to the register, the cashier encouraged him to apply for a JC Penney card, & offered him a discount right on the spot. She even gave him another 30% of coupon. I came here to shop for a suit for a an upcoming job interview. Needed something relatively inexpensive. First, there was a line with 30 people in the mens department and only 2 workers. There was nobody on the floor to help with customers and waiting in line for 20 minutes to ask a question seemed ridiculous. After searching I found a suit that fit my needs and was going to purchase it but I needed a shorter inseam on the pants. I asked one of the workers if they had another size and she replied "no" without looking in the system or anything. I decided to order it online.... well it is now 8 days later and I have not heard ANYTHING about my order. I called to check on it and got an extremely rude lady telling me that I need to call back because she doesn't know where my order is. The worst part is that their site says they have the items I ordered IN STOCK! Gentlemen, save yourself the hassle. When you buy a suit you want someone to help you with the fit and to answer questions you may have. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! Spend a little more money and don't bother with this JC Penney. read more

Well I got glasses here for my son last month. The young lady working there was very nice and helpful. She explained that how the special worked is that you can choose any frame up to $99 and that would be covered under the $49 kids special, but if it went over then you pay the difference in cost of the frame. Hey that worked for us. It still came out cheaper than alot of other places and they had a huge selection. My son is 10 and very hard on glasses, I repeat... My son is 10 and very hard on glasses. The special offers a warranty for as long as the prescription is good. Works for us, I knew the glasses would get broken eventually! So he chose frames and the order took about a week and a half. My son wore the glasses for 4 days people and guess what!?! He broke them. No worries (I guess) because there is a warranty right? I took one star off on my review because when I originally ordered the glasses, I was unaware of the $24 charge to replace the glasses... ok $24 is not that much but I was under the impression there would be no charge. In any event, because my son hadn't even had the glasses for a week the young lady waived the fee and the glasses are on order as we speak, so overall, we had a good experience. I can't complain too much, I mean eye exam at Costco, $49 and kids package at JC Penney $49 not bad! read more

I grew up going to JC Penney's for school clothing. My father would take me shopping at our JC Penney store in Watsonville, CA a couple of weeks before school started and he would buy me a year's worth of clothes from underwear to dresses. Back in the days, we would wear dresses and not pants to school, this is giving out my age! Our JC Penney store closed years ago, which I think was sad since we don't have any stores downtown to shop. I have traveled to Salinas and San Jose JC Penney's to shop. I now shop in the Big & Tall section of the store since my husband wears tall sizes. JC Penney has reasonable prices for these specialty sizes. I had not been to the Eastridge JC Penney for a very long time and was pleased to see that the store is modern and has a wide selection of clothing. I am and will be a fan of JC Penney. read more

I havent been here since 2009. Its on the EAST side so yeah no one really goes to eastridge except to steal, fight, gang activity etc. Heard they opened a sephora but idk about that. The store itself is ghetto. Mens bathroom randomly located in boys dept and the womens bathroom is in the salon. SOme people find places on the sales floor to "go" if they cant find the bathroom. The mall area has rats and other critters so im sure they have em since Ive seen em in the JCP parking lot. Cars get stolen very often here. The good thing I can sayy is WOW what a big mens and kids department and theyve gotton more brands in lingerie. I like the selection here better than cupertino but i have too think am i down to go to ghettosville... up to you. read more

Our appointment was a bit behind but over all happy with the outcome. Did see some People Unhappy becuz the wanted to use multiple offers and it states on the OFFERS, one per family. I guess some people don't read.. Everyone read your offers and don't be so mean to the messengers. They are doing the best they can. Its a busy studio. I believe that's a good thing. Had a horrible experience today here shopping for shoes! While browsing for shoes the two cashiers just sat and were complaining about their job for everyone to hear. I had to bring my shoes up to the register because it was clear they weren't interested in coming over to ask if I needed help. After one cashier left for lunch the other lady standing there went in the back to "look" for my shoes in the sizes I needed. All of 30 seconds later she was back to claim that all 6 pairs I was interested in were out of stock on my size, and to go online. As I was about to ask if I could try them in another size she disappeared to the back room again and did not come back. Huge waste of time at this store! I highly recommend that they find employees who are actually knowledgable in their job and have no problem helping customers. Their employees need a huge attitude readjustment! This store doesn't even deserve a star!!! My wife and I were going to purchase many clothing items today at JC Penney since she purchased a ring there several weeks ago. I found a pair of levi cargo camouflage 441 pants that I wanted a price check on. One of the clerks scanned it and said it was not on sale but for $69.00. I told her I'll pass. We continued shopping and then we stood in a long 15 minute line waiting to purchase our other clothing since there was a closed service counter in the men's dept. While standing in the line, I noticed other of the same levi pants hanging on a rack that had a sale sign for $39.00. I asked the cashier if she could do a price check on the same pants I had earlier done to confirm the price. She scanned it and it came to $39.00 from the $69 reg. price. In addition, the cashier never greeted us but asked us whether we had an awards card. She took the items and observed there were no price tag on the items. Then she said that she would have to find the other items that were similar and scan them to get a pricing. I then asked for the manager because I was steamed about this time by already standing in a long line! Maria the manager came by and stood dumbfounded that I would actually make a complaint about the long lines, the different price checks on the scanners, having the closed service counter while people are standing in a long line, and having people return clothes in the same line with people purchasing clothing. All she said was they never had return only lines and the other counter will open right before Christmas. No apologies, nothing!!! This was the worst customer service I have a experienced in a long time and it amazes me that this store can stay in business. LOUSY, LOUSY, LOUSY!!!!!!!! read more

This Review is for portraits department. Photographer is Passive and dont have the ability to capture right moment. Definitely not kids friendly.When we went to take a family Picture which was scheduled at 3.50pm. When we went there on time with our kids, all dressed up, there was a queue of people who had appointments at 3.20, 3.30, 3.40. Dont know how can they give 10 minutes slot each..and the staff there were really arrogant. We had to wait for nearly 3 hours and the photographer was so much tired that when we asked for a sitting family posture, she said we take family pictures in only standing position. She was not quick enough to capture the moments when kids are posing. Rather, was chatting or seeing somewhere. Later our kids got pissed off and were not giving the pose and she didn't try to get any and was waiting for us to make our kids smile perfectly and us too pose simultaniously.. A photo booth is much better than this photographer..Camera without brain. read more
