Overall experience is ok. My family has been going to JD Auto Repair for years and it's family owned. Staff is friendly and communicative and kind. We have had a great experience until recently we had a hiccup. I recently took my mother's BMW for service given that it had been sometime and the car needed maintain. In July, we did a car review for $50 to see what was needed and all was well with planed oil changed for Nov 2025. In September we took the car for brakes given the dashboard notified us of break Maintance, so we took it in. New brakes were needed so we paid for new brakes and the service took over 6 hours so at hour 2 of waiting staff offered us a ride home which was a courtesy. We pick up car late night around 6:30pm and on the way home about 4 miles out we hear the brakes make noise that is concerning because it sounded like brakes scratching against each other. Next day I call them anklet them know and they ask us to bring it in. Once again we are dropped off at home and wait for a couple hours for pick up again. We are told that the brakes are not the problem and that it is an issue with the fit for equipment that takes some time to settle after brake change. Accountability is needed here for checking work before delivery to client. It's a waste of time for us and them to redo work and wait and take car back to check it. I asked and they mentioned they did a test drive before delivery of completion. My instinct is that they have great service for auto care and brakes may be an area of improvement given various yelp review mention brake issues. Aside from that, service is great. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. This place is ran by a bunch of idiots that have no idea what they are doing. I brought my car in for my brakes to get changed on a Tuesday @10am. The lady at the front desk asked me why I think my brakes need to be changed, I explained to her that there was a noise coming from the back of my car whenever I would come to a stop & that I'm 100% sure I need to change the brake pads in the back but unsure about the front so if they could just check them & let me know. Before I was even able to finish she interrupted & said "You probably just need your brakes cleaned", I've been taking care of my car for years & never have I heard of cleaning brakes. I told her to just have them check my car & let me know what the problem is & the cost to fix it. She advised me it would be 2 hours until my car was finished, they ended up keeping my car for 6 hours & called me around 2 to let me know that they were barley working on my car & my brakes were fine, no change just clean & the price would be $110 for them checking & cleaning. I said it's fine, even though it was odd. Picked my car up around 5:15pm, the sound in the back was gone & my brakes felt okay, So I thought they did a good job. Just a little over 24hrs later, I commute to the valley for work, coming off the 405 & my brakes completely stopped working. If it wasn't for me coming off the freeway slowly already & slamming my foot on my brake I would've killed the person crossing the street when coming off the freeway & landed my car in oncoming traffic. The following day I took my car to a private mechanic that actually knows what he is doing & he explained to me that whoever I left my car with completely messed it up, & what they did caused my brakes to fail & completely destroy my drums, rotors & brakes, he was surprised I was even able to drive my car anywhere. Later that day, I reach back out to JD Auto Repair to tell them how they messed up & if I could have my $110 back bc I didn't give them money to almost kill me or someone else. The mechanic that worked on my car got on the phone & was arguing with me back & forth for 40 mins trying to explain how it was MY FAULT for not asking him to check my brake fluid, my brake master cylinder or my drums, when I continually told him what the private mechanic had said...an absolute imbecile. He's too worried about being a macho man, he can't even accept his own faults & apologize. For me it was the principle, for them it was greed & money. A job that was very simple & only a couple hundred turned into a $800 repair & that's with the private mechanic being generous. I could take this further & completely run the company out of business if I really want to pursue, but now that my car is doing good, I'm over the situation & I figured the best I could do is warn others who are thinking about taking their car here. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, LEARN ON YOUTUBE, ANYTHING ELSE IS BETTER THAN COMING HERE. Fast forward two months and the brakes they changed never stopped screeching and come to find out when I took my car in for an oil change at another place, the same brakes they changed less than 2 months ago were never changed and I now need new ones. You dont find a lot of honest mechanics. Our family jokes but George is our family car doctor. My family owns many vehicles and after jumping from one mechanic to the next, after meeting George, he is the most honest company around. My father had his own repair shop and fixes his own planes and vehicles. Because he's older, he doesn't want to do the work but knows what fair prices are. Not once has George been dishonest but he's given better prices and does an honest work. My truck needed new shocks and a lower ball joint (tire fell completely off). George looked at it and said, wow luckily you didnt cause any damage. This is an easy fix and I should have it ready early tomorrow (he had 3 cars on lifts and a lot full of vehicles). Naturally we replaced both front shocks and ball joints. Drove the truck home smooth as butter. My family has moved but my sister and I are still here. So long as we have car issues we can't fix ourselves, we're bringing everything here. If I pay a chef to cook I have no problem paying a mechanic to fix.
