Mom had been taking her grand marquis to them for few years for just the oil change service, these…read morecars are extremely reliable, had around 80k miles on it, after last oil change and after 2nd engine start check engine light came on and had a strange "rattle" under the car, took it back to progressive and explained that never had light on before, owner had codes cleared mom went home but next day light returns and owner tells her she just needs to drive it and it will go out. I am a retired mechanic of 70 yrs old but I still have my own tools and started finding problems after their service work, first the rattle - they had lifted her car on the rear catalytic converters and partially crushed the interior membranes on both sides of car, next problem - check engine light - scan revealed issue with EVAP system which the issue was found to be 2 wires inside a rear wiring harness way above fuel tank and not exposed to external damage were cleanly cut with dikes that had left tool imprints on the wire. After repairing what these people destroyed purposely and them deliberately causing repairs to be needed, I believe they're in business to cause cars to need repairs for their own benefit ie even other shops are aware of progressive auto care's practices and they've reported to customers to be warned. I can see why they're not involved with the BBB, folks these people are dangerous and give real mechanics a bad overview. Just think about it owner is protrayes himself as a true Christian man, truth be known is wolf in a sheep's clothing.

After doing some basic troubleshooting we thought this was going to be a big job, probably a fuel pump and various electrical issues. 30 minutes after the truck was dropped off I was called by the shop and they walked me through everything. Turns out it was an electrical issue from the previous owner that made it look like a fuel/air issue with the truck. Southwest could have easily gouged me and told me it was any number of other items. I went to the shop and they walked me through various items on my truck, letting me know what was in good shape and what could use further review or maintenance. They showed me any items that they thought were safety concerns and then detailed how they can be fixed. I went into this expecting a huge repair bill and days without my truck. I left Southwest Car Care the same day with a lot of knowledge and a trusted mechanic for any of my future car issues. Oh yeah, and a perfectly working truck.

Drove it home, still leaking, went back and they said it was now the water pump, which is under warranty from the engine replacement. They obviously misdiagnosed the coolant leak and would not refund the hoses. I said I would be happy to pay for the hoses but refund the labor since you misdiagnosed it. Nope, but they replaced the water pump because it was under warranty. Technician misdiagnosed the truck and charged us. Beware!

When I took my car there I waited hours and then found out that they broke all the studs on my exhaust manifold. I wasn't mad, I had my brother pick me up since Noah said he had another set of headers he would put on there, even though I asked multiple time if he could drill out the old stud and put a bolt and nut on there. I asked him before leaving if I could go ahead and pay since I had to work the next couple of days so he could leave the keys where I could get them after hours, he said "well idk how much it's gonna cost yet". I said "isn't it the 200 you told me over the phone". He said "well the studs broke so you'll have to pay for labor to put the headers on". After that I had a bad feeling but I was stuck. Come the next day I get a call that the mid pipe I bought won't "seal up" so I either have to pay for another one or he has to put my stock one back on and I still owe him 600 bucks for swapping the headers with some that didn't have broken studs (mind you these are stock headers). I said "fine do what you gotta do to get it fixed". He calls me up the next day to tell me it's done and there's no leaks but now my bill is 900 bucks. All I wanted was a mid pipe to be installed and hes charging me 900 dollars. I tried to reason with him over the phone but he just got up set and so I paid him out of frustration. I understand it's not his fault the studs were rusted and they broke but he just passed all the costs on to me instead of being honest and sticking to his original quote, or even meeting me in the middle. For my next mod I wanted to put on a on3 turbo kit, so I talked to Noah about the install price. He told me it would cost 2500 minimum. A month later I got my kit and called him telling him the specifics of everything I bought, he then told me it would be at least 3500 now and 600 for a tune. I said forget it. I took my car to another shop where they installed and tuned my car for 1500. I'm making 520whp/502wtq on a 3v.

Yet I was called and told that the car was ready for pickup, only to be told afterward that the engine warning light can only be cleared at the dealership. I took my car to another local auto repair shop, got a free scan, and they were able to pinpoint a loose connection and fix the problem. This level of service and disregard for their customers time, energy, and money, is completely unacceptable. Run! This is the FIRST CRITICAL REVIEW I've ever written on ANY business…read more Only 2408 miles driven since this repair that I paid $1200 cash for. The A/C was used no more than 12 hours total after the new compressor was installed. The car has had no accidents of any kind. The compressor that Greg's shop installed (for $1200) just dropped off the engine block when I started the car one day. It was never bolted on like they told me it was. Greg sent a tow truck to pick the car up from my house and when I called later that day to check on my car, I was told that Greg has gone on vacation in Acapulco. My car stayed at that shop for 14 days and whenever I called to ask about my car, it was impossible to get a straight answer to why my a/c compressor would become unbolted. One of the guys that answered my call just said that I need to get a new engine. The next time I called them to say I can have AAA Auto Club tow the car off of Greg's lot.. but the message from Greg (still in Acapulco) was: "pay the fee for the tow truck Greg sent for $200, and then I could have my car". By this time I was beyond frustrated. Then I asked if they could put a smaller drive belt on and bypass the compressor. Greg got back from Acapulco and they called me with an estimate to put on a smaller belt and bypass the compressor.. $746.68 !!! I declined. I scheduled a AAA tow truck to meet me over at Greg's shop and he was still refusing to give me my car keys unless I paid him $200. Then he had a quick change of heart after I told him I would call police. At that point Greg had a childish, name-calling tantrum. Never in my life saw a grown man have such a pathetic tantrum. BE AWARE that Collinsworth Car Care is just like so many others; They'll happily take your money without doing an honest repair or giving an honest explanation. The shop I had my car towed to did the bypass belt install perfectly for a tiny fraction of what greedy Greg wanted.
