I have had been referred to this shop by another shop to change my transmission fkuid and differential fluid. I have a 2015 Dodge Charger Road & Track RT & 2023 Dodge Challenger Skatpack last call. Chris the manager at store is a great man. I had the fluids changed on both cars. Great work. On my Charger they notice the bushings needed to be changed as well. I came back and changed all 6 control arms in the front of charger. I was so happy to get the arms changed. The charger new control arms makes the charger suspension just like new and than had the wheel alignment done lastly. I love this shop. Other shops missed the bushings issue on charger. They seen it and explained that this needed to be done since it was never been done ever. They do excellent work. Both my cars are great. Dont go anywhere else. They checked some noises I was hearing that concerned me. They gave me great feedback. My go to for transmission service in the area.

They tried everything to save my broken transmission and approached the problem methodically and with care. This approach took a while but it was worth it since it left no doubt. Finally we decided that we had to pull the tranny to take a look inside. The damage was incredible and they called me over so i could see it first hand. Another shop had broken it since they did not know what they were doing and applied excessive force trying to replace a simple cable. Rahim, Kip, and Enver were so professional and I cant thank them enough. My car is great and I plan to get many more years of use out of it. This Toyota Avalon was worth saving. It is just a baby at 84K miles with a replacement tranny now with only 55K. This is not the first time I have used AAMCO and they did not disappoint. Thanks again. read more

Thankful to have the reliable folks at this Aamco-Plano location available to help on several occasions. They've helped with multiple vehicles. A while back I got stranded on the side of the road one Friday afternoon. I called before they were closed to see if they were available to take a look. They helped me coordinate dropping off the car after hours, having the SUV looked at, and replacing an alternator all within 24 hours. I was prepared and expecting to leave the car over the weekend. I've had friends share stories about other dealership service departments having to keep a car for a week or more. Aamco Plano had it back the next day. Most recent issue was a A/C blower for the same vehicle. Brought it to the shop and they had it diagnosed within 20 minutes. Coordinated the part I would need and arranged for me to bring it back one afternoon and have it taken care while I waited. This allowed me to still use the car for work and giving me time to coordinate time off. I told them I wanted to do spark plugs as well. No problem. Coordinated it all for the same afternoon. So convenient. At no point did they try to oversell me like I've had at the dealership. Staff is always friendly. My family has been using Aamco since 1992 and we'll continue to do so. I called Chris at AAMCO after my sister in law used them and was happy; she was in from out of town and they got her going very quickly. I had taken my truck to another place who could only replace the whole transmission to the tune of about $8k. So I took it over to Chris at AAMCO where they actually repair transmissions and was able to get my truck fixed and going for $1300. Plus Chris was great about letting me get back to pick it up after I was out of town for a week and then was sick for most of the next week; he was very understanding and easy about me taking my time. AAMCO was suggested to us by a family friend who owns a mechanic shop. I had my expectations set based on calls to several transmission shops around town. I got quotes from $1,850 - $2,350 for rebuilding the transmission. Basically, the low end price is only if "soft" parts (gaskets, etc) need to be replaced and the high end price is if "hard" parts (planetary gears, bands, etc) need to be replaced. Our total bill was just over $2,300 with a 1-year / 12,000 warranty. They have 3 year and lifetime warranties available with the latter running around $2,800 total. We were expecting the vehicle back after the weekend but the work was completed early and one of the shop guys stayed to wait for us. So that was nice. Immediately after picking up the vehicle, we noticed the transmission would "kick" when shifting gears which was very unpleasant. If you've ever been in a stopped bumper car and someone hit you from behind, that's what this felt like. We called AAMCO they had us bring the vehicle in and replaced a faulty sensor at no charge. Vehicle runs like new now, so very pleased with the work. Staff was very friendly. read more

They tend to echo my entire post, funny how those aren't front and center.** Took our car here on Friday, January 29 and were told that our transmission repair would be done by Tuesday (February 2). This shop has never voluntarily given us any updates and responds extremely hostile when my husband calls to check the status of anything. Today is Wednesday and when my husband called he was yelled at by the Chris (The General Manager) who asked him "when should I give you updates?" And then yelled such amazing customer service touches as "I don't know when your car will be done." The only thing this place seems to know is exactly how much it will all cost as we have had that total since Friday evening. Cannot wait to get our car back and never deal with these people again. I can only believe the positive reviews were given by friends and family as Chris had been a serious jerk from the start. If you're not rich and you need your car to get to work, this isn't the place for you. read more

They fixed my car transmission properly. They were a bit on the slow side and not cheap at all but it was done right. A few months later I had a leak of transmission fluid from the radiator and they fixed it for free. They seem to stand by their warranty. read more

*****I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.******* I took in my car beginning of November for a simple diagnostic and oil change which was THE WORST mistake I could've made. For 1: they took almost 2 weeks to give me a diagnosis and I constantly had to call and ask about my car because no one was calling to keep me updated. 2: after the diagnosis of me needing a new transmission, they contacted my warranty company without my consent and began the paperwork. When I tried to take my car out for this reason and the lack of communication, they insisted that I leave my car because if I were to take it, the warranty company would think it was fraud and wouldn't fix my car at another shop so I felt like I had no choice. 3: it took about a month for me to get my car back and a few days later, the car started having problems again. I took it back and they "fixed" something in my oil system and said they would only charge me for the oil change (which I had already paid for once before) because they didn't want to put on any paperwork that this job was being done because I would "need a new engine soon" and they wanted to make sure the warranty company had no reason to deny my engine change which I found very fishy. End of story: my perfectly great car which I've had for 6 years, had only 100k miles on it, and NEVER had a mechanical issue has now been sitting in my driveway for over a month with the diagnosis of TWO different mechanical shops who state my car is in need of an engine AND that they believe no transmission was ever changed. Please don't trust them with your car. read more

We had our son's transmission originally built at an AAMCO in another state just before he left for college due to the numerous locations and warranty. At the very end of our son's warranty, his transmission started slipping and he took it into this location. We could not be more pleased with the way the entire team handled his issues. The customer service was amazing! David communicated with him frequently and made repairing his issues a priority even though the work had not originally been done at this location. Good place to take a car to. My car's shifter cable had broken, and had it initially towed to Eagle Transmissions on Coit Rd. They were a bad shop, the person had an attitude and gave me a very high quote. I got it towed to AAMCO on K Avenue in Plano and Dave was wonderful. Pleasant to work with and gave me a quite which was much less that what I had been quoted at Eagle. Am not generally a fan of auto repair shops but found Dave to be more honest than most auto repair shops. read more

Lynn, i actually had a different experience all together with Chris. i was travelling from out of state and my car broke down so i had to take it in to get serviced. I was in Texas on business and was travelling back to Arizona when my car broke down. I took it in to this location and everyone was friendly and understanding, especially the manager Chris. I did some shopping around before i brought it in to this location and found that their prices were better than other places. The got my car done quickly so that i could get on the road and get home and i haven't had any problems with it since it's been repaired. i would defiantly recommend this place because of the caring nature and quick response from the whole team. read more

I was having a few issues with my Mini Cooper and my warranty company wanted me to bring the car the a Mini Cooper service center rather than having it serviced at Aamco. WORST decision ever. The Mini Cooper service center had my car for almost a WEEK and wasn't even able to tell me 1/4 of what David was able to provide me in half a day. I ended up taking my car back to Aamco for necessary repairs instead of having the Mini service center work do it. David went above and beyond what the service lights were coded to, and further investigated to see if there were underlying issues causing the lights to come on. He was able to provide HONEST customer service which is rare in the mechanics industry, and I never once felt like I was getting the bad end of the deal. Bob the GM was wonderful and I felt down right honest with us. He explained everything well and was up front about everything. He called us to keep us up to date and cleared anything with me before doing it and was up front with the cost.
